Not sure what happened to this place. We’ve come here for years and the dinner portions have been greatly reduced. The only difference from lunch to dinner is jacking up the prices. The room temperature was pretty warm for a restaurant, as well. Will likely give it one more try in a month or so and call it quits if it’s more of the same.

Very delicious Cuban and Peruvian food. They have great lunch specials for 6.99 I have gone to this place twice and it is my new favorite place in this area. The service was awesome and quick. Took less than 5 minutes to get my food. I would recommend this place to everyone. — updated 6÷3÷2016 I have been coming here weekly since my last review for lunch. For some reason the temperature has changed and it is much warmer inside the restaurant then before. I am sweating now before even eating. This has only been happening the past two weeks… Maybe the A/C needs to be fix…

My friends(Peter and German) found this place and wanted us to check it out, on their recommendation. And I’m glad we did. To start with, Frank was coming with us. Now Frank can be a bit particular when it comes to food but when he saw that they had veal hearts on the menu, he was sold. I won’t get into why anyone would eat veal heart, but Frank and his husband love them. They ordered that as their appetizer and I was amazed when I saw how much of it they got. I guess all beef hearts in the South Florida area come to Cabo Blanco so they have plenty. Frank told me that if it’s not cooked properly it will have the consistency of shoe leather. This was as moist and tender as it could possibly be. I don’t eat red meat as a rule but I did have a taste of it and even I enjoyed it. I’m a seafood lover but the list of choices was daunting. When the manager came over, I asked him what would be authentic Peruvian and he named something that sounded like«Seafood Macho,» but I could be wrong. Anyway, I ordered it. Other friends had ceviche and others tried other dishes off the menu. They start with bread and spicy sauces for the bread, which were delicious. I like hot spices so this suited me just fine. If you don’t like it hot, ask for something milder. They might have ketchup or something. Anyway, the bread was good and we all enjoyed it. The appetizers came next and everyone loved what they ordered. I generally don’t get an appetizer because I don’t eat that much and I wanted to save room for the entrée. There was no way I was ever going to finish the amount of food that they put down in front of me. It had shrimp, calamari, mussels and I believe a few other tidbits all served over a fish fillet and in a sauce that was out of this world. I was quite happy with the recommendation. I’ve seen the bad reviews of this place and I have to say, this was not the experience that we had. Our party of six all loved our meals and we all intend to return to this place again. The food was good, the prices were reasonable the service was fine and we all left full and very happy. What’s not to like?

I recently went to dinner with my girlfriend and had a very poor experience at this restaurant. She ordered a complete fish… but they brought her out just a filet. When she explained there was an error, they argued with her about it and told her we’d have to pay more. We were surprised they would argue with us, instead of remedying the situation… so my girlfriend simply said she wouldn’t be eating, she was very nice about it … no confrontation at all … and she ate some of my plate. When we asked for the bill, they added gratuity onto it! Now, I’ve actually eaten here before, so I was extremely surprised when they added gratuity to our bill… when in the other times I’ve ordered from here. we’ve never been charged a gratuity … even on to-go orders I’ve picked up to bring home. Their poor customer service is what prompted me to write this review. Very disappointed by their lack of professionalism and crappy customer service.

I just finished my lunch and it was very flavorful. I just moved to the area so I am eating out often. I tell you I have not found a restaurant where I would return until this one! This was an excellent meal. I was served chicken soup to start and it was good, not bland at all. When I got to the bottom there was a small chicken bone so I knew it was not from a can(love it). I ordered fish with sautéed onions and tomatoes on top and my goodness every bite I savored. I should have known it was going to be good because the other customers were local Peruvians and Cubans, no tourist here! You must try it because if you do not… man-o-man you are surely missing out. Oh yeah it is reasonably priced, $ 9. You can not beat that!

Had lunch here with co-workers, one who is married to a Peruvian woman. He swears this is the best Peruvian food in the area. They have a great lunch special menu. I had beef strips with rice and black beans and it was delicious. Generous portion and the beef was surprisingly tender. Will eat here again.

I stopped in because it was close to my hotel and looked interesting. It was quiet and low key, just what I needed. The ‘house made’ passion fruit juice was pretty good but not outstanding. The grilled fish was amazing and flavorful. An excellent meal.

We have been going to Cabo Blanco for 10+ years. We used to come here for lunch all the time. But recently the place has really gone down hill the past few times I came here. The service was horrible, the menu price went up $ 1 -$ 2, they have decreased their portion size and they discontinued there famous bread. We ordered our meal, waited 25 mins for the soup(waitress ignored us the entire time) and after 35 mins we got up and walked out. Never AGAIN

I came here a few times before and it was ok, I just left the place and first of all the waitress(she has really short hair and blonde) was not nice or polite at all, she didn’t even smile once and didn’t do a good job as a server everything that we asked her came out late or the opposite way as we asked. We had a causa de pollo it was horrible they use canned chicken. How come a peruvian restaurant doesn’t have Seco con frejoles or tacu tacu? She answered very rude saying only for breakfast which is weird but ok. At the end they added the tip, don’t get me wrong I am a great tipper when it comes to getting a good service, but I had a very bad experience with the poor service and the food, my family and I will never come here again.

We used to come here for lunch all the time. But recently the place has really gone down hill the past few times I came here. They have decreased their portions, don’t give out free bread anymore, charge 4 dollars for extra onions. And the service if you get the right server it can be ok. But, if you get the server with the short blonde hair, RUN! She is horrible and rude!

This restaurant was recommended to us. Why? I’ll explain Since there are tons of Peruvian restaurants in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, my friend I decided to go in a Peruvian culinary expedition. This was restaurant #3. When we entered the restaurant, my first impression was, this is a whole in the wall(although whole was quite big) «place not so good, great food», right? Not only that, the place was packed! What are all those people doing here? They must be selling something other than food! Ordered the ceviche, the Jalea de Pescado, the Yucca a la Huancaina. It took forever to get us the food. The fish was awful, it was not cut right, the Huancaina sauce was meh! as it was the Jalea. I was about to complain about the food, when the person that recommended the place wanted us to order a Ceviche for her to go! WTF? I just took the left over ceviche. I wasn’t gonna buy more crap from them. We tried to warn her it was bad, but there was poor cell connection at her end. I wanted a clear explanation of why she likes this place and their food. After tasting the food she agreed it was nasty. The chef that usually works there was off. He is half Japanese half Peruvian. It doesn’t get better than this. Is in his blood to know how to make great Ceviche. Would I go back to eat here is the chef was back? only if the food was free of charge.

Came here for lunch on break from work. I’m not too familiar with the restaurants in this area so I am trying to get acquainted with what’s around here. Today I stopped into Cabo Blanco. It’s located in a pretty old looking plaza, when I came in there was a decent amount of business(looked like people on break from work too) I sat down and was greeted immediately. Service seems attentive and friendly, very large menu with some decent lunch specials on the menu. You get bread to start. Pretty basic. I ordered the Tallarin Verde with a ¼ chicken piece. It was ok, and just that. The Tallarin(which is basically pesto) tasted very strong and had a bitter taste almost like licorice. It was pretty one dimensional in flavor. The chicken was ok, skin was a little over-cooked and the meat was dry. I ordered dark meat too so it should’ve been moister. The good part was that my meal was incredibly cheap and they give you a lot of food!!! I barely finished it. I need to try some of their other dishes to better judge the quality of the food.

This Unilocal site, which I’ve previously reported as being a duplicate for Cabo Blanco Restaurant, is a duplicate of: , which site seems to be the primary one with a greater number of reviews, so I’d suggest it a good idea to check it out too. I was surprised at the size of Cabo Blanco. Upon entering you find a bigger restaurant than you’d initially think, having excellent, quick, helpful attentive service. The food portions are large and, for another surprise, the wine glass comes full; all at not only a reasonable but a seemingly bargain price. It bills its cuisine as Peruvian/Cuban, but from what I had and saw others having, the food has a distinct Peruvian bias to it. Those large sized kernels of Peruvian corn on what would otherwise be a Cuban dish are somewhat of a hint. The menu is exhaustingly extensive, far larger than found in most restaurants of such size and there are pictures of their servings on the wall together with pricing to assist you in ordering. I could easily go four stars for Cabo Blanco with its neat, clean interior and friendly well run operation, but found the flavor and taste of the food not up to the standards of the similar Peruvian restaurants; lacking in balance. As an example, I ordered the Ceviche Mixto which came as a good sized portion containing fish, octopus, squid and plenty of shrimp top with onion topping and what I think was a delicious yam side. I was asked how I wanted it prepared, being mild, spicy or hot. I ordered mild and it came mild, however the strength of the citrus used to chemically cook the ingredients was overwhelming, even overwhelming enough and so pungent as to practically pickle my tongue and mouth, with the more resultant fact of overwhelming any of the flavors of the main ingredients of the dish. No matter what I ate from it, it all tasted citrus leaving me to only feel the different textures of the shrimp, fish, squid and octopus; all balance between flavors was lost.

By accident, we encountered this Peruvian restaurant near our hotel in Ft Lauderdale. Great price, good food, nice people. My daughter likes the bread dip, my son like chicken soup. And I like the Cuba coffee, and my wife likes the sautéed beef.

What can I say about this gem??? My background is Peruvian, so I grew up eating all sorts of Peruvian food, then I moved from my parents house and I was left with no Peruvian delicatessens on a weekly basis :(Then, my husband and I stumbled upon this little restaurant on Oakland, and I am soooo glad we did! The first time we went I remembered I order the Tallarines Verdes with a Churrasco and my husband ordered the Jalea de Mariscos and we’ve been hooked ever since then!!! The tallarines tasted just like my mother makes them so it immediately brought me back home. It’s been quite some time since we’ve tried that place, and we make it a point to go as often as we can! Their Lomo Saltado, Tallarin Saltado de Mariscos, Ceviche Mixto, Aji De Gallina and Arroz con Mariscos is also to DIEFOR! Make sure you make some room for some Alfajores because they are the BOMB! They are soft and really filled with dulce de leche and the cookie crumbles in your hands! 20 thumbs up for this awesome place!

I had a voucher so I decided to give this place a try on a Saturday night. When I arrived at 7:30pm there were two other tables being served. For awhile I was the only customer. At 8:30pm it was 30% full. The waitress was very friendly and explained the dishes very well. The menu also has pictures of some entrees. They bring you Cuban bread and pepper sauces for dipping. The green sauce is jalapeño and is extremely hot! The yellow pepper sauce is mixed with mayo so it isn’t as spicy. I ordered the cheesy linguini, chicken breast, and red beans.(Tallarin a la hauncaino de pollo) This meal was delicious. The chicken was well flavored and very juicy. Since I had to spend $ 15, I also ordered a meal to go.(aji de gallina). It was very good with the shredded chicken, potato and creamy sauce. It came with choices of sides and I chose rice and black beans. I also had a dessert that I purchased at the register on the way out. It was two buttery cookies with a caramel filling. It was very good and cost $ 2.50. There is plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant in the strip mall’s parking lot. The restaurant is large and the menu offers a variety of entrees. I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu. The menu is well priced for the quality and quantity of food provided.
