Box of Chacos

Loved this food truck! We tried 5 different tacos and loved them all! Our favorite was the 5 spice pork with tomato jam and cotija cheese! We wanted to try everything! The tots were great too! We hope to try the rest of the menu next time! Great prices, and value for delicious and unique food! The service was great, really friendly people! We will be back for the free tots with Unilocal check in! Didn’t see this offer until I got home, and decided dinner was worth of a 5 star revue!

I wish they had a set location because I would stop by all the time. Lucky for me they are regulars at many Broward events like the FAT Village Art Walk and Food in Motion.

Had the pleasure of trying their food yesterday.
Ordered the Box of Chaos: 2 tacos and tarot tots, one pork and one carnitas.
It was so good! A flavor explosion… Really good food definite repeat when I see them again. The ladies working the truck were very cool and nice, adds to the experience :)

Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had! I really liked that they use two tortillas to keep the delicious from falling apart in your hands!

Yooooo u guys rock! Pork belly taco was seriously the best taco I’ve ever had!!! Insane!!! First time trying pork belly!!! Just wow! Short rib one is sick too! Do u not always have the pork belly one? Tried a stuffed arepa at Los chamos it was ok but all I could think was damn I should’ve went back for more tacos!!! Craving another one!!! These guys are a solid five, reliably having more than one vegetarian or even vegan option every time I’ve been. Everything has always been outstanding, very fresh and creative. Service is efficient and friendly, even when it’s flat-​out busy, and when it’s quiet they’re chatty and really make the visit a pleasure.
I’d call myself a semi-​veg at best, since I eat fish on a rare occasion (but otherwise am vegetarian), but I’ve never had to go past the veg options here — all outstanding.
PS: To the person who labels themselves a «strict vegetarian» then orders tuna, you might want to reconsider your label (you could try ‘pescatarian’ if you really want to brand your diet). You’re just confusing the service industry and making it harder to get actual veg food for everyone else. Tuna isn’t a vegetable, at least not unless you hit it really hard with a shovel. That said, it’s a shame your order was wrong — I’d find it irritating too (since we’re both in the pescatarian camp). Sounds like they at least tried to make it right though.

What does one eat when having a craft beer at the Laser Wolf? Lately, Box of Chacos has been around. Bring on the flavor and spice. I’m loving this little gastro-​truck.
Last time I had the short rib tacos — they were very nice.
This time I tried the flank steak taco with blue cheese, spicy sauce and a lot of yum. I might have found my regular dish.
The proprietors are nice, & they spent some time telling me what was safe for me with my allergy. Who can ask for more?

Have you ever found yourself craving a killer juicy burger, but also the face punch of pungent and delicious kimchi? Then, you faced the heartbreaking problem of HAVING TO CHOOSE between the two. Well, fear not, my friend. You can have both, in the form of a beautiful Kimchi Burger. That’s right, a Kimchi Burger; WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.
We stumbled on this amazing food truck at a Funky Buddha event, and holy hell it was so good. I got the crab egg rolls and the Kimchi Burger, our friends got the inside out quesadillas. It took a minute to order, but when you’re the only food truck in front of a brewery of drunk people, that’s to be expected.
The Kimchi Burger is absolutely fantastic, I got it medium which was perfect! The kimchi on top adds a little kick and even a little extra juice to the burger (which is awesome). The crab egg rolls were the size of normal egg rolls (which equals crazy generous portions), but filled with flaky and delicious crab, mixed with the crunch of veggies and the classic egg roll exterior. The inside out quesadillas were cheesy and delicious (super bummed I only got a bite of this from my friends).
Moral of the story: this food truck’s fusion cuisine is wonderfully done, crazy flavorful and pleasantly creative.

I follow this food truck on Facebook and Twitter now just to get their weekly schedule. I tried their food at the two year anniversary of Funky Buddha a few months ago and I was so impressed! As far as food trucks go this is as good as it gets! I highly recommend!

Had these a while back and they were fantastic. Definitely one of the better food trucks in the Miami area. Above all else try the pork one!

Not a food truck fan but these might be the best most creative freshest tacos I have had.
Kimchi beef, 5 spice pork and Thai shrimp with fresh toppings — the kimchi beef was mind blowing and the fact it was at the funky Buddha brewery knocks this one to the top ! Great food, see it pull over and chow — you won’t regret it !

First, let me say I LOVE tacos. I get to frequent California and Texas for work, so I am able to get some amazing tacos in my life, and it’s hard to impress me with tacos. But gosh darn it, color me impressed. Chaco’s puts such a high quality and interesting spin on the taco experience. I had the Guandong Shorty and Tio’s Spicy Pork with a side of tots and they were each phenomenal. The avocado corn relish on the Guangdong was brilliant. Friends got the Quesadillas, chicken taco, and the veggie taco and I heard praises all around. Do your self a favor muchacho, and munch on some Chaco’s Taco’s.

Great food truck. My first time and got the chicken and short rib tacos with tots. It was absolutely delicious. Also had the chicken and blue cheese flat bread special. My only issue is that I would not really call this a flat bread. The bread part was not at all toasted or crispy. That being said the chicken cheese topping was really tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Nice jobs guys. I will be back.

My first ever experience with food trucks was with box of chacos…
I remember that day I was going to order the kimchi burger because… well it sounded cool… never seen that on a menu in person before. Unfortunately, they had sold out by the time I got there, so I ended up ordering their quesadilla.
Since this experience, Box of Chacos has set the bar in the food truck scene for me and has been the standard that I compare all trucks to. Personally, I think they’re the best truck at this moment.
–The quesadilla– This is the best quesadilla I have ever had. It was fricking AMAZING! I was wowed by it as I was eating it up! It was STUFFED with pork, had some kimchi, and plenty of cheese. 5 out of 5 with no question!
I will say it was extremely fatty, greasy, and messy as hell to eat though.
Since then I’ve ordered:
— Kimchi burger– Again, this burger is easily a 5 out 5. The beef patty was so juicy and flavorful. the kimchi with the fried cheese is an odd combination since fried cheese isn’t asian, but that combo was killer! And that special sauce is tasty as hell too. This burger is to die for…
— Trio tacos:
+Pink chaco– This one had ahi tuna… this was definitely my least favorite. I kind of didn’t like it too much. Might just be my lack of experience with ahi tuna. It tasted rather fishy… Just didn’t like the tuna flavor.
+Guangong shorty– Had short rib with a sauce. Awesome taco.
+Tio’s 5 spice pork– Pork with cotija cheese… Also awesome.
The tacos, with the exception of the pink chaco with ahi tuna, were really good, I would order them again without a doubt.

This Food Truck has amazing food. I have only has the pleasure of having twice and it never has disappointed. Other food vendors love it. You cannot go wrong with them, as long as you are into «not your typical» cuisine.

Aside from the tasty Asian-​inspired tacos, I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of the truck, David Peck. A great chef and business man, who made sure that I knew all of the ingredients in every taco (I can’t eat everything, so I ask a lot of questions, lol).
I’m a big fan of flavorful dishes, and everything that I ordered from the truck was filled with flavor and seasoned to perfection. The truck, itself, is a great concept and the execution of it i even better. I would recommend this to anyone.

I went to this food truck in North Bay Village, and unfortunately I’m giving one star due to service :(I ordered the seared tuna tacos with sesame salad topping and my boyfriend ordered the skirt steak taco. I had two bites out of mine and realized something was off. It was pulled pork (I thought it was dry pulled tuna, and my boyfriend agreed– I know, we’re idiots). I’m a strict vegetarian and haven’t had meat in years, so when we came to our senses my boyfriend told the man working the truck I’m a vegetarian and that it was the wrong taco. He responded with ‘she liked it, didn’t she?’ (I didn’t) My boyfriend then tossed out the taco remains in front of the man working the truck and asked for a refund. Being vegetarian, the fact I ate pork kind of killed my appetite. The man argued a bit then said we ate the taco (no) then finally obliged. He never apologized or acknowledged the error. That being said, the seared tuna taco looked amazing, but the strange service really killed the mood.
Update: I got food poisoning :(

I had the Guandong Shorty and the Kimchi Burger Taco last night at Art Fest. To be clear, I was 100% sober eating these. Mind/​Senses = Blown. It angers me I can’t experience this in LA.

AMAZING! I ordered the shaolin tacos which consisted of quinoa, fried avocado, and chipotle mayo sauce. Of course along with the tacos came the tater tots. They are seasoned very well and super delicious. The people working were hilarious and had a great sense of humor.
They are considered fusion food «Chinese» tacos.

Amazing flavors on everything I had. I especially liked the short rib tacos. Only thing I thought was that the prices were a little high. I would most definitely come back!

chinese tacos off this food truck were amazing! I want to try to remember what I ate off their truck in wynwood during art walk in September. steak taco and tuna taco delicious, would recommend finding this gem outta the sea of 4 wheeled kitchens. gotta try the tots next time!

We checked out this truck during the Art Walk. The staff was very helpful with suggestions. We ordered the Kimchi burger taco (Yummy), the skirt steak taco (also yum), shrimp taco (deep fried meh) and the drizzled tatters (good). I would definitely recommend seeking this truck out among the crowd.

Came across this food truck during Art Walk in Ft. Laudy last night. We’ve been craving some uniques tacos for a while, so we couldn’t resist when we saw the menu.
«CHACOS» …Chinese Tacos… WHO KNEW?!? And mannnnnn were they BOMB!

No joke… they came packed with ridiculously flavorful meat and topped with sauces that will blow your mind! The meat was so insanely tender, and the «extras» added the perfect amount of crunch and cool.
Hands down… best tacos I’ve ever had.
