Blarney Castle Motel

I have read many typical reviews from uptight perfectionist related to this Old School Gem. My room is upgraded, modern with all amenities. GREG THE NEW OWNER HELD ONTO a familial atmosphere while modernizing interior he sustained the unique ambiance of happy guests, for some remember yester years and history of this special place. Blarney Castle captures the true artistry of traveling where electronic gear is not prevelent at poolside but laughter and introductions. I have not passed anyone since arrival who hasnt greeted my family with warmth. Many languages… many smiles. Walk to beach, water taxi, dobt drive unless you feel like doing so. Walk to everything. Great spot. Quiet nights. Beautiful find. Reconnect with your loved ones here. I did. This military family is going home… back to work well tanned and we’ll rested… HOOAH!

Recently sold and under new management, this hotel has a three year plan for room renovations. While most rooms are still straight out of 1972 (think avacado green appliances and speckled or faux marble Formica counter tops), the rooms that have been renovated are lovely with granite counters, dark hardwood floors, stylish lighting, and beautiful linens and window treatments. This motel has been my family’s home away from home during Thanksgiving week for the past 15 years. It is across the street from the beach, an easy walk to Ft. Lauderdale restaurants and nightlife, and rooms range from those with a microwave and fridge to those with full kitchens. All the rooms on the 3^rd floor connect so if you have a large family you can create a condo-​like experience for your group. The pool is located in the center courtyard and is always sparkling clean and a peaceful retreat with lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. The housekeeping staff are responsive to any needs you may have. Parking is free in front of the hotel — however it can be a challenge to get a spot when the motel is full. Our family tends to double up cars when we are staying there together. Since we know each other it is simple to jockey our cars around. This morning, however, our car was blocked in by another guest we did not know at a time when we had to leave to drive our daughter to the airport. Rather than have us wake up one of our family members to borrow their car, the motel owner’s solution was to hand his own car keys over to my husband. That level of kindness and caring of the guests is a hallmark of The Blarney Castle Motel. It is wonderful to know it is being carried on by the new owner.

Tolle Unterkunft. Die Lage ist perfekt fast direkt am Strand. ideal, um morgens eine kleine Jogging-​Runde am Strand zu drehen und danach im Pool zu relaxen. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und ausgestattet mit Kühlschrank, Kaffeemaschine und Mikrowelle. Besteck und Geschirr gab es allerdings keins — who cares :-P ?
Würde immer wieder kommen. Mit ca. 75 $ pro Nacht inkl. Tax echt fair.

Marie, the owner could not do enough. My husband Gary and little girl took a daddy daughter get away. I booked it, surprised them. Go to see uncle Declan. I was a little concerned because we always stayed at the Sheraton, but we could not afford it this time. Gary says that the staff and Marie were the most accommodating and friendly people he has ever met. The pool was great, not packed a plus! The rooms were big and much areas for your clothes. A refrigerator, for pop and water, a microwave for popcorn «Katie is a popcorn kid» and the water pressure in the showers was fantastic. My husband had to do laundry «he ran out of T-​shirts» and Marie provided detergent and was so nice. My husband’s flight was not leaving until the next day and this lady was so helpful and accommodating to the point that she gave the room free for the extra night. Now, I am not suggesting that Marie should do this everyone but she understood. They had a great time and loved the place, no CONS all PROS. Marie, my brother lives there and I will NEVER stay at the Sheraton again. I will book my stay where, the love is!

If you like taking a step back in time when establishments had character, and employees had a vested interest in your well being, then you will love The Blarney Castle. I have had the pleasure of staying here on several occasions, and have never been disappointed with it’s service or Old World charm. This is a motel that is kept clean and in good repair. Granted, you are going to miss out on some of the amenities that you might find in large chain hotels (continental breakfast, etc), but those large establishments do not have that certain personal touch that you get with The Blarney, and Mrs Marie O’Connell, your host.
The beds are comfortable, and it is located across the street from the beach, well within walking distance to several other establishments. The nice thing about the Blarney is that I can enjoy myself when I’m out and about, but can come back to a quiet night for needed rest. They have a pool, and that is always a plus. For lodging in Fort Lauderdale, you cannot beat the price, comfort, or hospitality!
