Be very careful with credit cards at this location. I use this store very seldom. Perhaps once a year. Twice in the last three years I’ve had a slew of large unauthorized charges start showing up immediately after I used it here. In both cases all the charges were in the same city in another state. So I figure someone is pretty well camped down there and swipes data on a regular basis. Fortunately, I don’t use the store on a regular basis.

Thank heaven for Cindy at 7 – 11. She calmly greeted me when I needed something. But you know that moment when you are just hitting every red light, dentist tells you they are no longer in-network, and all to want to do is throw kittens into a lake… And then you forget something and have to go back. Instant rage: just add water. Only I walked back in for a lighter to make my day a little better. She says«hi, again.» And I just blurted out that I’m having such a bad day. From her pocket she pulls out her lighter and says, «keep it. Hope your day gets better.» Cue heart-warming music and a scene of puppies playing with one another. She’s a blessing.

Stopped at this 7 – 11 on a walk from the mall to my hotel… It looked a little dated from the outside, but inside was clean and organized. Since I can’t resist a slurpee, I decided to get one for the remainder of my walk — the slurpee dispensers for the coke and cherry both sputtered a bit, but ultimately it came out just right(and yes, my fave flavor is to mix the two 60⁄40). The employee at the front counter was very friendly. There was a lot of thunder, dark clouds and lightning when I entered… I asked if they sold umbrellas and she pointed me in the right direction. When I came to the counter, she asked if I found it okay and I said yes(although I had previously gone down the same aisle and completely missed it). Given this is a convenience store I was worried I would have to pay a lot for the umbrella, but it was reasonable @ $ 12(full size). Given she was a local, I asked whether she thought I would need an umbrella for the weather given I was just walking to the hotel(a little over half a mile) — she didn’t try to sell me on the umbrella, which was nice. She told me to skip the umbrella and just start walking fast. Great experience overall.

Whenever I go to a 7 Eleven I keep my expectations of polite service and a pleasing smile rather low, and in dealing with this particular 7 Eleven, I’m glad that I do. It’s a rather dated 7 Eleven and I’ve been here several times just because it was convenient, but with the many foreign tourists also using the establishment and the pushy, nasty attitude, lack of understanding shown by the wait staff, all I can say is that even for 7 Elevens, I’ve seen better.

This 7-Eleven is solely a convenience store. If beachside, you will eventually find that you are without a staple and are not wanting to drive that far to one of the grocery stores that are so far away. Until the new Publix across the Sunrise Bridge is finished, this 7-Eleven is that place to get your staples. The associates are nice and helpful and always willing to answer your questions once they realize you aren’t a drunk. Beware of the vagabonds, though, since they tend to congregate around the 7-Eleven and surrounding businesses trying to
