Mama Vicki’s Coney Island North

Favorite thing I order is the chicken pita melt and they have really good chicken noodle soup. They have great service there and recommend this diner setting to anyone who likes diners. I recently tried their cheeseburger and fries and i was happy with both.

Okay my favorite breakfast place on the North end of town. First of all the staff is like a family. Wait staff and many cooks have been here for a long time– which leads to great service. They work as a team and know how to treat customers.
Customized food is handled well.
Great breakfast, great lunch– only wish there were more BIG tables to fit 6! Usually busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings and Saturday lunches.

Good food, fair price, food came out like it was cooked in a volcano with very little wait time! And they were fairly busy too! I got the coney, my wife got a burger, and my boy got the chicken tenders kid’s meal. No complaints. I’d say they’re on the upper end of the scale for Coney Island fare. Give them a try.

So, Mama Vicki’s is one of those old-​school coney islands that may not be too great to look at, but man alive is it a great place to go for breakfast. Honestly, for an All-​American egg+starch+pig meat breakfast, Mama Vicki’s is hard to beat. It’s my fiancé’s favorite place to go for a late breakfast before going to a matinée. My only substantive complaints (and the main reason why I give the place four instead of five stars) are that the breakfast potatoes could use a little extra butter – they tend to be a bit dry– and that several of the menues in the booth are so careworn that they can be hard to read. Still, great place. Great prices. That’s all this girl needs.

Everybody talks about lunch, and I echo the comments, but I come here for breakfast. I like that menu is short and to the point. When you do things well, you don’t need a large menu.

Its a great small local restaurant with great portions and prices ! The omelets are great! I believe we had a new waitress so she was a little slow but the food came in good time and was delicious! You can also see the kitchen from some of the seats so it’s cool to see them make your food!

Ate here with my mom while visiting PH. We caught the tail end of the lunch rush and got the one booth open. Despite the rush, our server was attentive and we ordered and got our food in more than reasonable time. I had coney and fries which were perfect, just what I wanted. If you’re hungry you could probably do two coneys, they’re not huge or overly sloppy with chili. The fries were good too. Mom had a chef salad that was huge and covered with a bunch of meat and cheese. Not to mention about a soup bowl worth of ranch dressing on the side. A nice touch even if you don’t use it all. It was good with my fries.
It has been years since I ate at any of the competitors, but my appetite for a PH coney was satisfied.

The spot for coney’s for me. It’s a nostalgia thing… and they’re GOOD!!! It’s the spices in the chili that make this one special and the favorite at our house. If you’re grabbing a bag of coney’s to go I suggest some onion rings too. They are crisp and thin and oooh so good.

I stumbled upon this Coney Island restaurant across from the shopping mall and it is a great find. The actual name of the restaurant isn’t Coney Island North. Finding a place to sit is confusing. Why didn’t the people put up the sign saying that I have to seat myself? Anyways, the two Coney dogs and chili cheese fries were good according to taste and presentation. Oh, and one other thing I did not like was that I had to wait a while for my bill, seven minutes after finishing my food. Good experience, a good atmosphere, and good service gives out a 4-​star rating from me.

I visited this restaurant early on a Saturday morning. I waited 13 minutes for a cup of coffee and water and to place my order. I then waited another 27 minutes before deciding to leave. I watched others before and after me get served. I ordered 1 egg, 1 piece of toast and a sausage link.
My waitress never returned after serving my coffee.
I went to the cashier to pay for my coffee and she asked where my check was. I told her I didn’t have it since I never received my order. She asked if I wanted to wait longer. I told her I’ve waited long enough. She asked if I wanted her to put it in a carry out and it shouldn’t take too much longer. I told her I’ve waited long enough.
Then she asked, «so, you’re not paying for the food?» I told her, «of course I’m not paying for something I didn’t eat». She then yelled to the cook, «Do you have table 7? She’s doesn’t want it now». He looked through his orders and there mine was at the end. I asked her how much for the coffee, gave her $ 2.00, she dropped .57 in my hand and promptly rolled her eyes.
I asked to talk to a manager, who happened to be the cook! He walked over and I told him that my waitress (who was now by the cashier) should have given me at least one update on my order in the 27 minutes I had been waiting and that the cashier was very rude. I will never, ever return to this restaurant… even though I live very near it.

This place I like. Nice open feel, quick service dependable food delivered as expected. Not tremendous quantity, but the volume is probably about right.
If I have the strength to not order the chicken pita wrap, I usually go for coney dogs or breakfast. The Reuben is serviceable but not large or exquisite. Coleslaw is sweet and creamy.

This is a great sunday morning place to eat. I love to get the wing ding platter with chili fries and maybe if I’m feeling hungry enough a coney dog with it.

I love this place for a quick, inexpensive breakfast or lunch. Their menu is very extensive with some decent salads, omelettes, sandwiches and of course Coney dogs. If you are not a huge hot dog fan (I admit that’s me), I like the veggie omelette, the salad topped with egg and turkey, or just a simple bowl of soup. It’s a nice location since it is across from Birchwood mall, and the mall has only one dine-​in restaurant.
