Green Buffalo Grocery Delivery

I received my first box last week and the variety and quantity of organic food was amazing and so fresh. I got two heads of lettuce (I already had some in my fridge) so even not touching them for a few days they show no signs of wilting — awesome. I also received some patty pan squash that looks like a small space ship! lol
I made a carrot and squash soup with butter and onions and it turned out wonderful! As the season turns a bit cooler I am moving towards eating more soups. The delivery was on time, kept cool with a frozen water bottle and all the veggies were lovingly wrapped and protected. I stumbled upon this service and so happy I found them! Having vegetables delivered to my door is saving me money from buying bad food choices at the store… seriously! :-) Give them a try!

So you think yeah, fresh organic food to my door great! With the name GREEN Buffalo you think it’s going to be environmentally friendly. Well my experience was neither of those things. The food looks like it is bought from the grocery store, packaged, wrapped and tagged up just like it came off the shelf. It comes in a non-​reusable cardboard box, with a one-​time-​use water bottle frozen to keep the produce «cold» I guess. None of the things I received were local and all grew far, far away from our town. Not a very Green form of agriculture.
I received one box and canceled my services. Little to my knowledge the service cancelation I thought I had requested only lasted for 8 weeks, so 2 months later I get a mysterious box of produce at my door and a charge on my account. This time I received «local» spinach, which was wilted, avocados that were completely brown on the inside, bananas and tomatoes that were still green. So not only did I not want the box in the first place but it was also filled with inedible fruits
So I called the company of course. The man I spoke to was not understanding, not willing to work with me to get my money back, and just down right rude. He said it was my fault that I didn’t cancel my account correctly and said nothing the company would do would make me happy. When I asked to speak with someone else he refused and said he was the only one who could deal with this. Not a pleasant experience for me and I will never buy from this company again.

This is my second year being a CSA member with them and every experience I’ve had has been a blessing. This farm knows what it means to be a sustainable organic food service! Healthy food delivered right to my door?! Yay!
I was initially worried that I’d have to actually be at home to receive my produce box (you know, ‘cuz it would kinda defeat the convenience purpose if I had to wait at home all day for my delivery). However, my worry was in vain b/​c my Green Buffalo foodstufs are packaged in a careful, stay-​fresh way so that they can be left on my stoop until I get home from work. My produce box is like a little gift waiting for me on my doorstep.
Cost is really comparable to the grocery store and my produce always seems blemish-​free, fresh, and lovingly selected. Thanks Green Buffalo you’ve earned yourself a gold star and a devotee!
