I had a choice city beef burger(they were out of bison) and their potato salad. Delicious. Also an amazing tap list. Only knock is that they close so early!

I stumbled upon this place while in FoCo over the Memorial Day weekend, and I was impressed. I didn’t eat since I wasn’t hungry, but the food looked awesome. I stopped in because I saw a bunch of tap handles on the wall, so as a beer drinker, I had to look. I saw their tap lineup, noticed a 2 year aged Black Butte 26, and ordered one. Looking at the rest of their tap lineup, I was blown away. I believe they had 30 – 40 taps and 90% of them were rare finds, and 100% were all high quality. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Next time I’m in town I’ll surely come back here and actually get food.

I had the Choice City burger and a side of Green Chili for supper this evening. Amazing! Choice City is one of my «go to» Fort Collins food joints because the food is fast, fresh, and fantastic, the beer selection is wonderful(36 beers on tap) and the location is eclectic and fun. Great people watching on the patio and inside. The Choice City burger is a bacon/beef blended patty. Let that sink in. The bacon is IN the burger patty, ensuring every bite is filled with bacon deliciousness. Try it. My side of green chili though is what keeps me coming back for more. Seriously, have the green chili. It is absolutely incredible.

Two words for you, WINGBURGER. I get the chicken wing burger every single time. I have had the regular burger once but don’t remember it all that well. I mean how can you when there is the WINGBURGER. I get the chicken, and it’s a delicious tender piece of chicken on a soft bun with ranch, hot sauce and celery. So delicious and just the right portion. I hear the Reuben is great here but since I don’t live in Fort Collins when I come up I am craving that wing burger

Smoked Duck Benedict was delicious. I ordered it «Antonio’s style»(what I was told to ask for in future to duplicate the way it was made).

Of the 200 best burgers I have had in my life, about 198 – 199 I had here. Similar ratio for the best steaks I have had in my life. Wild game sausage penne, pork belly. I mean if you dont LOVE this place then go to hell. Oh and good beer list but they are all heavy which is not my style but not their fault.

Fresh and delicious sandwiches. Takes a bit of time for that quick lunch. Parking is a hassle. If you’re on your bike, this is a great place for lunch. The meat selection is quite nice. The bread is super fresh. Wouldn’t recommend their coleslaw or potato salad for the side.

A definite place to stop into for beer and sandwich or burger. 36 beer taps is a plus. Had lunch here and had the Italian sandwich hot. It was delicious. The sandwich maker took his time and you could tell. This place has table service as well in the evenings and serves breakfast too. It is a butcher shop as well with some excellent cuts of meats. During lunch you order at the register and then sit at a table. They bring out your food. Great selection of tap beers. The food is very good. If you are a sub sandwich person get here it’s a find on any map.

The food was great, cool atmosphere. It was a tad confusing going there for the first time. I wasn’t sure if we just sat down or ordered. Some people had plates and food was served. It was impossible to get a waitresses attention. The food and atmosphere makes it worth another try.

I’ve been coming to this place since the first week it opened. I’ve had their take out, dined in for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and gone there to get their admittedly awesome bacon that’s ten times better than any grocery store’s and is about fifty cents cheaper. I wish so, so hard that I could love this place. For the love of god, I don’t think I can deal with their horribly half assed service anymore. The servers all run around like chickens with their heads cut off, but somehow it still takes almost a half hour for food to get to your table, and forget about simply getting refills on your glass of water. When I’ve gone there just to get a couple pounds of their bacon, it takes almost a half to leave with said bacon. When I call beforehand to get takeout, they tell me on the phone it’ll be ready in about ten minutes. It takes about fifteen minutes for me to drive there, and when I get there I wait another fifteen minutes for my order to be completed. This place is just one big waiting game.

I was in town as part of a touring show at the local theater and happened by Choice City one day for lunch. It was bustling, which is typically a great sign and I grabbed a solo seat at the small bar. I was delighted to see 36 taps to choose from, but then truly impressed once I read through the list at the quality of beer they were offering. I don’t think a single draught had a «Rate Beer» rating of less than 95% and most of them were 99 or 100. I settled on Pliny The Elder from Russian River Brewing(a rare find anywhere east of California) and ordered the corned buffalo reuben with lemon/dill slaw as a side. The sandwich took about 30 minutes to reach me because they were so busy, but as a former(and probably future) member of the service industry I understood and wasn’t bothered — especially when my delicious beer got a small top off as a condolence! Overall, I had such a nice experience that I brought five guys from my show orchestra back later for dinner. Exquisite. A gem among the many gems in the Fort Collins culinary scene.

Never had anything bad here. Never had a bad beer here. Love the selection on tap, always changing, always amazing. Sometimes service can be a little slow on the weekends for brunch but it’s very relaxing so who’s in a hurry anyway… Speaking of I haven’t gotten a brunch mimosa yet but they look amazing. This is our favorite go to spot when we can’t quite decide what we want. Always sounds good because it is so good. It’s disappointing when you forget they close to the public early on Tuesdays. The special events they have seem pretty awesome but I haven’t made it to one yet. Best Reuben I’ve ever had…

First time coming to dinner at choice city deli based on a co-workers recommendation. Must say that I’m rarely impressed with the quality of food at our Fort Collins restaurants as I was with choice city deli. First off they have one of the best variety of beers in old town and both mine and my wife’s meal was extremely memorable and we’ll definitely be back as regulars. Can’t wait to try some of the other dishes.

Excellent beer list with rare drafts when I was there. The meet and cheese plate was standard. But there were a few outstanding surprises. Like their homemade blue cheese with garlic, red pepper and balsamic reduction. I bought a lb to take home. Ample olives were included which was a plus. The bacon wrapped pork belly was incredible! The actual deli is fresh, diverse and accommodating. Service was above and beyond and let us thoroughly enjoy our experience. We didn’t know if we were staying for dinner or just drinks. After three rounds and sampling of aps we moved on. We will be back soon though for those sandwiches(they’re huge!)

My review of Choice is centered on their butcher case. When I want a great cut of meat to take home for dinner, there is literally no better option in this town. They don’t have lots of exotic meats(they do sometimes), but the Ribeyes and NY Strips that they always carry are unmatched. Quality meats can be hard to come by, but not at Choice. Take one home, cook it yourself, probably better than most steakhouses here, and you won’t be disappointed. Side benefit: you get to have great beer while you wait for them to get your steak. Don’t pretend like that isn’t awesome!

2 words: Reuben Sandwich! Driving through Colorado from Wyoming and we started getting hungry. Decided to Unilocal something and this place came up. A little out of the way but it was very worth it. The reuben sandwich was pretty much the best thing i’ve ever tasted in my entire life. The meat was so juicy and tasty that I ended up ordering 2 more sandwiches to go so I could eat them on the road later. The chef had a sop of the day that he described as a reuben creamy potato style. Its was so good I went back for seconds. good beer selection and you can drink outside. Only thing I didn’t like was they don’t allow dogs on the patio. Don’t know if this is a colorado thing or what but it seemed kinda silly to me. If you’re driving anywhere near this place and you’re hungry, its a no brainer!

I first encountered Choice City Butcher when I went with friends, when visiting the area, to pick up some steaks. Though that initial time I only purchased some fantastic rib eyes for the meat counter I quickly saw that Choice city is an almagamation if a number of food trends. It’s not just a butcher shop, connected to the larger history of meat culture in America as discussed in Maureen Ogle’s fascinating book«In Meat We Trust: An Unexpected History of Carnivore America» but also a mix of deli(they make sandwiches to order” but also pup(lot’s of great craft beers on tap, even at Breakfast) and local diner(my second experience). I liked the look of the place so much, and the rib eyes we grilled at home(like butta’) that we went there for breakfast Saturday morning. As I’m on vacation, I did have a 2015 Chocolate Milk Stout(a sweet stout) from Odell’s, which is a brewery located right in Fort Collins, and it is a perfect breakfast beer. In addition, they have a variety of Eggs Benedict options. I had the smoked duck breast version. The duck breast was cut into strips and grilled and was nicely offset by the lemony tang of the Hollandaise sauce and the richness of the burst yolks of the perfectly poached eggs. They also come with a side of hash browns that soak up all the additional yolk and sauce so you can consume all the richness this dish has to offer. At the end of the meal the waiter brought a small taster of the hard cider as a pallet cleanser, delicious! The only thing I might adjust is the coffee could be of better quality. It is a bit too close to traditional diner coffee and tastes somewhat burnt. They might want to consider a bean from a local roaster and offer it via French Press — this would be more in alignment with the quality of the rest of what they offer and should not place to much of a strain on the operational practices of this delightful little bit of foodie culture in Fort Collins. In summation, I can’t wait to go back, a lovely place to pick up some meat for the grill, a great breakfast or, I am a have a feeling, a top notch dinner. ;-)

I haven’t spent much time in Fort Collins but our cab driver suggested we try out this place because we like beer. I am very glad we did. We started out with the Lost Abbey Saison which was tasty and the pretzel bread. A great start to our meal. I had the small plate of sliders and my friend has the Veggie plate. I can rave about the red pepper aoili enough! So yum! I also like that they give you an option of small plate vs big plate. I never make it through an app, beer, and a full entrée. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. The atmosphere is eclectic but thats what I expect from a college town deli. I would definitely recommend Choice city for a casual dinner with friends or a low key date with someone who appreciates good beer.

The hubs and I went back to Fort Collins to meet up with friends. Having grown up in Fort Collins, it is easy to take things for granted. Like Choice City Butcher. Now that we don’t live so close, we have to load up on the good stuff when we are back. The good stuff being the Reuben’s. Oh my, do they know how to do a good Reuben. I got the buffalo Reuben and the hubs went for the traditional beef. They do the brining in house and it is very well done. Griddled on marble rye with thousand island and sauerkraut it is a little piece of deli heaven. I always get the lemon dill coleslaw as my side but today they were out. Although disappointed it did push me to try something else. The pork green chili is thick, spicy and like everything else great. Be prepared to wait as it is a very popular hang out.
