Closed for four months and it’s still a DUMP. The staff is rude too, particularly the girl working the desk today. It’s exactly the same; same equipment, EVERYTHING. Unbelievable.

Decent gym, I feel like there is a lot of unused space. Renovations are finally completed which opened up the locker room more, new floors in the weights area(maybe other areas as well?) and paint. There is a rumor that the fitness room will be converted into a functional fitness(Crossfit) area sometime after the new year and the old bowling alley across the parking lot will turn into the new aerobics facilities. I’d say overall this is probably the best gym on post, which frankly isn’t saying much. Train hard y’all!

Best gym on Bragg/Pope in my humble opinion. Parking sucks during PT hrs just like every other gym on post but I only go here for mandatory PT events.

This review is just for the fitness classes: The instructors are famtadtic! They are so high energy and go above and beyond to get you a fantastic workout. If you live on post the package they have is definitely worth it! You can also access classes at Towle gym too.

I am the first one to admit I have not really utilized Fort Bragg’s fitness centers and MWR facilities. Mainly for personal reasons — my unit has a small, nice gym; after I leave work, it is way too far to return back on post. I have been working out at home too. My lack of use has nothing to do w/the facilities, conditions or what is available. Hercules Fitness Center is located on Pope Army Airfield. Another Unilocalster mentioned the gym has declined after transitioning to the Army’s garrison. I have used Air Force fitness facilities while deployed and they are ALWAYS nicer than the Army’s infrastructure. However, I have only been in Hercules AFTER it transitioned to the Army, so I have no idea if it has taken a turn for the worse. My unit uses this gym to conduct portions of our physical fitness test. I have been in three gyms on Fort Bragg, plus my unit’s gym. IMO, this is the nicest facility with a vast offering of equipment and amenities including a juice bar, racquetball courts, a sauna, and a large weight room with free and selectorized weights. The cardio room is separate w/ample types and number of machines. Group Fitness Classes are offered for a nominal fee. I have heard the classes and instructors are fantastic. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to join any of them yet. You can check the calendar for classes:
NUCO Fitness offers personal training and nutritional counseling. From my experience with personal training at previous installations, the cost is generally quite reasonable. Additional information regarding price, trainers and packages is on NUCO’s website at Massage Therapy is available at Hercules. This is the first time I have seen THIS at a military gym. Maybe because it use you be ran by the Air Force! The types of services including couples massages and hot stones is pretty neat to have this available on post. Services and prices can be found at: I really like this fitness center and if it was closer to my unit or house, I do think I would use it more often.
