Not sure what the 2 star rating is about — this is one of the coolest places to stop on the 1 on the north coast. The gift shop is quirky and an interesting mix of eclectic northern california and the nursery has more fuchsias than you can imagine — from little bitty ones to great big ones and all colors of the species scale — there are hundreds of species of fuchsias and you can see a lot of them in one location at fuchsiarama — well worth the stop when you’re driving the hwy.1 just north of fort bragg.

Have you ever wanted to buy a pot of flowers, a ninja sword, and a lamp that looks like a lighthouse, but hate going to multiple stores? Well, have I got the place for you! Just north of town on the East side of Rt 1 is a nursery that decided to sell more than just fuschias. It’s actually a little creepy. The plants were actually healthy and decent enough, and had I thought one would make it back to SF I may well have bought a banana tree or something.
