Hickory Point Twelve Cinemas

No food at all no ice cream no hot dogs but staff generally friendly and helpful but I got a pretzel tasted like mold bad ate most of it with cheese to get it down save some to look at it in the light could not see the mold but I had another at another establishment and it was great. I told the staff when we returned again about their pretzels are old I am a perishable food manager and they just looked at me like so what? We have to find a better theater we just moved here will look on map today

Disappointed. This movie theater needs work. in addition to the other complaints about the ceilings, the floor is coming up. Somewhere in the lobby outside of concessions I had stepped in a certain spot and it was like that spot went back down to where it should have been. I looked like a fool walking around trying to find that same spot or other spots like it (I did so because I wanted to find where it was and bring it to the attention of the employees or whoever was in charge). I feel like that could be a safety concern. The theater and restrooms were not all that clean. The air conditioning was out in the theater my movie was in. It was roughly 80 degrees and my soda’s ice was all melted before the movie actually started. It definitely was not comfortable. However, the staff working when I was there were friendly. The popcorn was great. I know going to the movies isn’t always the cheapest, but this one was a little more expensive than some of the others I have been to. It seemed really expensive since the theater itself is rather outdated and falling apart. Overall, I would not recommend this theater. I agree with the other review, it is well worth your time to drive to a different movie theater. All this really needs is some major renovations and I think it would be a great movie theater.

Take the time to drive anywhere else to see a movie. The staff was rude and unprofessional. The theater isn’t in the greatest shape, but that is not what bothered me most about this visit. We paid $ 20 extra dollars for my family to see a film in 3D. We were the only ones in that theater and as we finished the trailers and started the film we quickly realized the movie wasn’t in 3D. I kept my glasses on waiting for something to pop out and nothing did. When I went to complain at the customer service desk, the girl (I wish I could remember her name) was so rude and said the movie was in 3D and there was no way they could give us a refund or a voucher. I used to love coming here as a kid, but I will certainly avoid this place in the future.

Was there to see the latest Bond film… was in #6? (to the right and behind the snack bar)
The sound system worked very well — seemed better than my previous experience with a different screen — but there was a blemish shaped like a dragonfly on the left third of the screen. Not too distracting except when bright steady shot occurs. Nothing else noticed out of the ordinary.

Not much has changed since Barb’s review in May 2014, except they must have painted the ceilings black to hide the water damage.
After walking into the lobby, I thought maybe they had fixed things for the better because it didn’t seem too bad. But, it seems, the further in you go, the worse it gets. We stopped at the concession counter to buy snacks and the most vocal of the employees back there (all three were waiting on us because no one else was there… should have been our first clue of trouble), was making comments about how expensive the snacks are (like «the popcorn combo costs more than my water bill»), almost like she was trying to talk us out of it. Might be a sign of unhappy employees which reflects on the manager.
Walk into the theater and I see spaces where there are no seats, like they took some out for handicap spots but didn’t bother to make it look like they didn’t just pull seats out of the floor for no reason. I definitely noticed a musty odor. The seats were fabric and not real comfortable. As we were waiting for the movie to start, there were several ads promoting Carmike theaters of which this one, and it only served to show the glaring faults of this particular theater. It almost made me feel sorry for this poor theater who could never live up to the ads. The quality of the movie was just ok but the surround sound speakers did not work and were actually making a loud buzzing noise during parts of the movie.
We went to this movie because it was near our hotel, but if we stay at this hotel again, I will drive miles out of my way to go to a different theater.

I recently saw a movie at this theater. I was very disappointed by the condition of the theater. The ceiling in the theater was water damaged, the theater had a smell that was old and musty, and the theater was not clean. Several sections of chairs had been removed. This theater is in much need of repair.
