Food is crappy and expensive!

I went on karaōke night to see a friend sing. She was awesome. Fat Dawg’s is a dive bar. If you have an inkling of what a true dive bar is then don’t go in. I love dive bars, also referred to as a «do nothing Bar», you can go in and just sit & drink & watch what ever is on the TV or just listen. If you want to talk then strike up a conversation with someone next to you. If you are looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right, they are not in this bar. BUT, Mr. or Mrs. RightNOW will come in the door very soon. I have been in this bar on Saturdays. This was my first time in on a Friday. It was packed. I was under the impression that the staff was not prepared for the crowd. I walked up to the bar 3 times to order a cocktail. 1^st time no one was minding the bar area (including the cash register), 2^nd time I was able to order, but it a challenge, and the 3^rd time no one was there to take and order. I finally got my 2^nd drink from cocktail waitress because my brother (who is a regular) introduced me to her. After that, I did not have any trouble ordering a drink. It is what it is, a «dive bar» and I love it! The next time I go in, I am going to order a burger.

Nope. This was my first and last time in this bar. I wanted to like it, given the feel of the place and the super close proximity to my house, but I just can’t.
I popped in a few days ago for a few beers and was ignored for a full 20 minutes. The bartenders seemed too interested in the regulars at the bar to help me out. The two bartenders working that night made eye contact with me multiple times and just never approached. I got the feeling that I was not welcome or that I misunderstood how the bar works.
I might go back and give it a try if someone can tell me the secret to getting service.

Owner is nice and the atmosphere is okay, but the staff is incompetent. None of them have a clue what they’re doing and the bartender is overly rude. Wouldn’t recommend.

WOW what a change from the old place its amazing how much this place changed when they stopped allowing smoking. this place is right past my way home and used to hate that i couldnt stop by for a beer or two without walking out of there smelling like old tabacco. it now has the feel of a nice old dive bar. it reminds me and has the feel of some of my favorite Dallas bars (Anvil Pub, Lee Harveys, Adairs Saloon and City Tavern) I know these changes have just recently happen but i cant wait for them to have a bigger better menu. As for the smokers they have plenty of covered space for them outside. As with all smoking bans through out the city and nation they will get used to it.

Stopped in here with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a «biker bar», but I didn’t get that feel when we went inside, which was nice. Drinks are reasonably priced. Staff are friendly. They had karaōke on the night we went. Fun atmosphere.

nancy and steve are awesome. good drinks… they always see us coming and it is our hang out to get away from the daily grind. great bar, nice peeps and they try hard to make it a place where everyone feels like one of the gang.

I had a blast there. The DJ handled everything as it should be.
The owner was friendly and talkative. People responded well to the singers!

THE dive/​biker bar in forney ! beer specials, 2 pool tables ! most of the bartenders are friendly, but usually preoccupied [ with what i dont know] ! ok place to go if you dont have a life and i dont so i can usually be found at the bar waitin for a drink… they serve food now that is mostly really good but WAY overpriced for what you get… but the drinks are strong and the regulars are friendly… i enjoy it there so we can be found there a few times a week !

Operates under the pretense, at one time, of being a sports grill that serves mean hot dogs. Fired their cook well over a year ago with no intention of hiring someone new, and aside from occasionally having BBQ cooked outside, does not serve food. Strictly a dive bar now.

FAT Dawg’s is the best Dive bar around. Karoke on Friday nights is a sight to see and a sound to hear!!!
Beer specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The staff is a lot of fun and very friendly.
I can’t help that I’m a simi-regular…LOL!

Solid bar if lost in Forney, TX. Smokey but cheap beers. Off hwy 80.

This place is nothing more than a local dive. It boast to have the best hot dogs but seriously how hard is it to screw up hot dogs? Limited liquor and beer selections. The owner is a sweetheart but I feel she should would thrive in a larger city.
Theres only so much that you can do with a dot on the map.
She has plenty of events, live music and good times. Other than open smoking the place is ok for what it is.
