Firstly, to get to this store/restaurant you have to cross a covered bridge. For a city boy, that’s a nice treat. The family who owns this place moved from 21st and Mifflin sixteen years ago. They brought a little South Philly to rural PA. The menu is large and they highlight cheesesteaks, hoagies and pizza, Philly style. The dining room is all wood, like a log cabin. Pictures and locales/streets of Philly cover the walls. The food is delicious. The cheesesteak was very good, better than some Philly joints. The American hoagie was good but needed some seasoning, like oregano. The tomatoes were not juicy, out of season. We washed the meal down with old fashioned root beer, instead of bringing a wine or beers. Hope I can get back to Forksville soon.

It’s amazing to find great hoagies on Amoroso rolls out in the middle of nowhere, but here they are! The food here is evenly very good, it’s as if we were sitting in a place in Philly. Unless it’s breakfast, we always get hoagies, which are large and well filled with meats. They also have a neat candy rack with old style candy that was around when I was a kid. If you are in the area of Worlds End you need to stop here!

It was so cool to read about the history of this place and to talk to the owner and his family. The Philly Cheese Steak was outstanding. We have been visiting the area for a few years on vacation and just stumbled across this place one day and we now have a reason to come back — YUMMY!!!

Worst karaōke bar in Forksville. This one jerk hogged the stage all night because he’s a friend of the owner or something. You have to bring your own alcohol too.

We luckily stumbled upon this place by accident. We were camping at the nearby state park and the«camp store» wasn’t even open at check in for us to get firewood! Thankfully, they had firewood and other«goodies» we needed. After two days of miserable rainy camping, we stopped by for cheese steaks on our way home. The parking lot was full which gave us the impression that this was a good place to eat. We were not disappointed… the cheese steaks were delicious! Service was fast. I was a bit surprised that the fries were not fresh cut but other than that, I definitely recommend!

This was a pleasant surprise after three days of backpacking on the Loyalsock Trail. Stopped in for lunch, and it was obvious from the full parking lot that it is popular. Nothing fancy but it’s clean and comfortable and the service is friendly and efficient. Great hand made burgers and VERY good cheesesteaks. Prices are reasonable. Has a deli counter and a small sort of convenience store in the front. Also looked like they must have live music at times. Our party of four was very happy when we left.

The burgers are amazing, especially the Covered Bridge Burger. The burger is very juicy and has great flavor with a good amount of cheese and then bacon to top it off. I try to stop in here every time I make a trip up this way to go camping just for this burger. The owner Mike is a nice guy and has a great place. I keep meaning to stop in for some of his jazz music that I’ve heard so much about but it just hasn’t worked out yet.

My favorite general store, with some of the best food in the county, and my family loves their music nights.

Even though it was only our second day of camping, I was still to beat and lazy to make dinner on my portable stove. Instead, we decided to head to the Forksville General Store(6 minutes down the road from the campgrounds). First of all, getting to drive through the historic covered bridge already starts you out with a treat. The store is right after the bridge, can’t miss it. Beautiful red building. Inside, if you get the chance, check out the wall with the photo’s on it. Lots are signed pictures from different Philadelphia Sports teams, but one is a great old picture of the store, with old buggies parked out front. That picture threw me into a reality of how old this place really was. It was a fantastic picture, which I found myself staring at for probably too long. The store had lots of supplies that would be nice to have when camping– fresh eggs in the fridge, milk, plenty of snacks and candy, and a «S’mores Corner.» They also had a sit down dining area which looked cute. We didn’t sit down because we had the puppy waiting for us, but there were a decent amount of people there! After a long day of hiking, we ordered one 16″ Italian Hoagie, and one 8″ Turkey hoagie. The turkey was good, but I highly recommend the Italian. It was stuffed full with cheese and meat, and the lettuce tomato and onion were extremely well seasoned. We actually liked the hoagie so much, that we made a pit stop to get another one before going back home. I actually want one right now, but I don’t think I can bring myself to drive 4 hours for a hoagie. Wait, yes I can. See ya.

We go camping every year at Worlds End State Park. We go into the Forksville General Store once for breakfast and sometimes for a dinner. We have always had good service and delicious food. We only get sandwiches, no entrees. I couldn’t even tell you if they had entrees. We actually. went to the Sax Daddy show on Saturday night. The stuffed chicken breast meal was fantastic, like a turkey dinner. Show was kinda cheesy, but still fun. We have tried many other places around the area and we all like this better than most. Being Sullivan County, this is probably not saying much. But I’ll leave that up to you.

Forksville is the town nearest to World’s End state Park. It is also home to one of the most unexpected restaurants anywhere. Right in the middle of Pennsyl-tucky you will find cheesesteaks better than from the owner’s South Philly roots. All the food looks great and dinner is enlivened on occasion by Mike on the saxophone. The food is nothing fancy but well prepared from quality ingredients. Mike’s daughter was our server and she was charming. Don’t be put off by the utilitarian front of the store where an array of camping supplies are sold. Head to the back for the dining room. I told the wife I want to go back to World’s End. What I really want is another visit to the Forksville General Store.

Big Mike’s is the best! First off, this is a family establishment which I really appreciate seeing now a days. Big Mike is from South Philly and he really knows what he’s doing when it comes to making you a great sandwich. I have been coming here for over 10 years and never once had a complaint. The service is always fast and done with a smile, and the food is… MANTHEFOODISAWESOME! We camp at World’s End which is only 2 miles from Forksville, and you can’t beat a Big Mike’s breakfast. This place gets super busy(as it should), but I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes for a table and once we’ve ordered, the food is quick and served up HOT! I can’t say enough good about Mike’s but that you need to visit for yourself. I’m telling you, one taste and you’ll be hooked! Thanks to Big Mike and his hospitality, my family and I feel like we are home every time we walk into this place. 10 years strong

I’ve been going to Forksville for about 14 years now, and have always included eating breakfast here each and every trip. Each year, we’re greeted with an enthusiastic welcome and taken care of very well. Mike and his family have come to know us from being there during our trips. We went there for breakfast during Labor Day weekend. We knew that breakfast stops being served at 11am, and we’d gotten there at 10:50. We waited to be seated for about 10 minutes, and when we finally did get seated, we were handed lunch menus. We ordered some coffee and when our server came back, we asked if we could still order breakfast(they’ve let us slide plenty of times before). To our surprise, he said«No, we’re really busy today. We have to put all these cheesesteak orders on the grill.» We politely said that we’ll just be having our drinks and that’s it. Typically, Mike is at the front counter when you pay your check and that’s where he asks you how everything was and makes small talk. Well, this time, we didn’t get that at all. Just a cold silence and a blank stare. Our friend paid with a credit card, and after he swiped it, he threw it back at her along with a pen! And I’m not talking a gentle toss and slide, I’m talking pure rudeness! I don’t know what was said about us amongst the family, but that’s no way to treat long time customers on one of their busiest weekends of the year. We love their food and always order tons of it in one sitting… they could’ve made some money and good tips from us if they’d just let us order breakfast. Instead, they got $ 6 for our drinks, no tip, and lost some customers. Don’t worry guys, Between Bridges serves breakfast all day and was more than accommodating! By the way… remember how earlier I mentioned a grill full of cheesesteaks? We only saw people eating breakfast food… not one cheesesteak in the place. And, by the time we left, the dining area was more than half cleared out.

This establishment has the freshest ground beef anywhere! If you want an amazing burger or perhaps an entertaining show, this is the place to be! I stop here every trip to PA. You can’t get a bad meal here! Breakfast, lunch or the weekend dinner show, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Restaurant was not busy, which was good because we had a party of 10. But then I worry the food would not be great, I was wrong! The owner chef obviously takes pride in food preparation. The steak sandwiches are great, perhaps the best I have tasted outside of Philadelphia. The most popular was the chicken cheesesteak hoagie, even the side salad was carefully prepared. I had a cheesesteak hoagie(not chicken) and it was terrific. There is a wall of candy for dessert but the cheesecake is great. The owner said they frequently host musicians so I will check their FB page for information. Be sure to take some pics by the covered bridge in the back.

Little Mike knows his jazz like real South Philly people. He studied sax up there in he boonies with Phil Woods! We only got some take out stuff, but his store is stocked with some great commodities for coming off the trail with a bunch of thirsty kids.

Yum, good sandwiches and cute atmosphere. Wish I’d known – I would have tried the cheesesteak. Had the italian instead and it was delicious. They use good bread.

Cool little joint. The owner is actually from Philadelphia, not New York. They have excellent philly cheesesteaks. Both wiz or cheddar. Wit or witout onions. The real deal. Best lunch in Sullivan County and they will do take out; it pays to call ahead.

the guy who owns this place is from Philly… name’s Little Mike… pretty nice guy. this place is a basic general store located right next to a covered bridge, just outside of worlds end state park. They have gasoline, ice cream, all kinds of maps, food, snacks, an atm, sliced meat and cheese, souvenirs, postcards, and a small restaurant. we got some fish and a hamburger, i dont really remember if the food was good or not, but i do remember that it was cool that they had eveything there all in one. they treated us pretty nicely and didnt rush us. There were two young waitresses and the owner, they cooked our food up from behind a see thru deli case. It was such a great little place to stop.
