I’m confused with the positive reviews. We just went here and it was beyond disappointing. I had the stuffed spinach shells. They were full of spinach and lacked flavor and cheese. My husband’s pasta dish tasted like spoiled milk. The waitress was kind but didn’t offer a substitute when she saw how disappointed I was with my meal. We just wrapped it up and took it home to the dog. Next stop… La Villa on Timberlake.

We arrived at Lori’s and we were greeted with a smile and seated pretty quickly. After browsing a sizable menu, we ordered a small(12″) New York style pizza with bacon, pepperoni, and hot peppers. The pizza was good, but the toppings were very concentrated. All of our bacon was in the middle with the peppers and pepperoni branching out slightly. I ate 3 slices and about halfway through each slice, there were no more toppings to consume. The crust was okay, it could use some garlic and butter to spruce it up. We also ordered a canoli, which was terrible, but Lori took it off our bill and apologized. Service was stellar, food okay, ambiance okay. Worth going to eat though! Do it!

I used to be a pizza lover when I lived in New York. To be honest with you, I had pizza almost every day when I lived there. Since moving to Lynchburg I have stopped eating pizza because I simply couldn’t find a good New York style pizza. Lori’s is the closest to the New York pizza you can get. Good quality bread, great source and very good cheese. I had a small cheese pizza which could easily feed two people. I crushed it all in one sitting. The service was very good and friendly. It’s has a feel of a family Italian restaurant. I highly recommend this place for anybody who is looking for a some good pizza. The other items on the menu looked pretty delicious as well.

sat down because we wanted a booth, had dirty glasses, waiter did not wipe table down. brought waters with no straws. Sorry thats nit picking. but hey train your people. chicken parmagrina, was OK nothing special. Pino pizza in appomattox way better. small thin chicken breasts. Sauce wasn’t bad, didn’t come with any bread. my girlfriend had chicken already, I’ve had better alfreado sauce from prego 1.99 from walmart. come on really, was really bland. and was over priced. 28 dollars for those too meals. food and service needs improvement. sorry for the bad review heard the lady that owns the place is really nice. but this is an honest opinion, I’ve eaten italian across the U.S. when walmart microwave italian is better, something needs to change.

After two awful experiences at Lori’s, I can confidently say that I will never again eat at or order take out from this establishment. For our first experience at Lori’s, back in January 2015, we decided to dine in at the restaurant. I ordered the chicken marsala, which is my go– to when eating at italian restaurants. This was hands down the worst chicken marsala I had eaten in my life. I was served one, tiny, piece of stringy chicken. I kept searching the heaping amount of pasta(which I’m guessing was to compensate the lack of actual chicken in the dish) for more chicken, but that was it. The sauce was bland, the chicken was terrible. My fiancé ordered a ravioli dish that was also bland and flavorless. After about 5 months, we decided we would give Lori’s another try, an italian restuarant should be able to handle a take out order for pizza and wings, right? WRONG! As we arrived to pick up our food, we could sense there was something wrong. The woman at the front counter looked around for about 5 minutes, then started asking people if there was another pizza somewhere, who had taken the order, etc. After about 10 minutes of us standing there waiting, she asked a man standing next to her if he could make the order. At that point, no one had apologized to us, no one had asked if we were OK with waiting another 15 – 20 minutes for them to make our order.(Just a recommendation, if you lose someone’s order in the future I would probably say you should apologize, then I would ask them to have a seat and let them know that the order is on the house or they will get a free dessert or something!.) I was very frustrated at this point with the way the situation was handled. If an apology had been given, I would have been more susceptible to giving Lori’s another chance, and even waiting for the food to be done. But the fact that we were just EXPECTED, not even asked to wait another 15 minutes while the order is started was unbelievable. At that point, we said we could not wait, and walked out the door. We heard our first half hearted«sorry» as we were walking out the door. Having worked in a restaurant and made pizzas myself, I understand that restaurants can get busy and overwhelming, but Lori’s was dead that night. I would not recommend Lori’s and I will personally never be eating at Lori’s again. We try to support local businesses as much as we can, but after we got home, we ordered Domino’s Delivery. That was a much more pleasant experience.

Service was very good and everyone was friendly. We really enjoyed the plentiful toppings on our pizza and the crust was perfectly cooked and not limp. We went for pizza but after seeing all the other Italian dishes offered on the menu, I will be back to try the pasta as well!

Few people in VA know about authentic Italian cuisine. This is by far the best Italian food you will get in the area. It has a rustic charm and is not fancy or upscale. The food however is very upscale. I have tried every Italian spot locally none compare.

I found this place through Unilocal.Though I must say, I am not sure why the rating is so high. The kitchen and wait staff are all Italian. Sicilian. So I had high expectations that this would be good food. Sadly, that was not the case. I ordered the chicken parm. The sauce was ok, the noodles al dente, and the chicken while crusted perfectly were a bit chewy. I tried the spinach pizza from another person dining with me and I really liked that. The crust was great. Perhaps this is what they do well. This is just an average Italian place unless you are going for pizza then you may really enjoy it.

We were here a couple days ago. I ordered the fish stuffed with crab over angel hair pasta. Had to send it back. Fish was so strong and dried out(over cooked) I could not eat it. Also the pasta was dry under the fish. Not good at all. Having said all that I have eaten there a few times before and it was good.

As the others have said, this isn’t the fanciest italian restaurant, but the food that comes out of the kitchen is excellent. The pizzas, calzones, pastas and just about everything else is done very well. Pair that with the good friendly service and it’s a winner.

It isn’t gourmet, rare Italian food, but it is goooood. The variety of the place is great, but the quality of the food is the impressive part. I almost never order the same thing twice, so I know that a great deal of the food here is praise worthy, imho. The folks that run it are Italian, so you can take comfort in knowing that the sauces will tantalize you without being overwhelming. Favorites: The lasagna(good first time dish to get a taste for the place), the philly steak sub(delicious and filling), French dip(ask for extra Au Jous without worrying about the price because it’s worth it), the pizza(duh), and the calzones. Bottom Line/TL;DR: Go. It’s good and cheap(get more than you pay for). You won’t regret it.

I’m from right outside NYC and had such a terrible time trying to find good pizza in Lynchburg. Loris has very good pizza an by far the closest I’ve found to authentic New York style pizza. If you’re from up north you’ll be happy this place exists. Great food and great service.
