I had lunch here today, and it was delicious! I had the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich, and my lunch companion had the ultimate deli, both of which were so good. The sandwiches are quite big, big enough that we each took half of our sandwiches with us. In addition to the sandwich, we had our choice of a side(potato/egg/pasta salad or chips). The restaurant has a very comfortable feel, and is good if you want to sit and have a conversation while you eat. I would highly recommend this place.

Depending on the sandwich of your choosing, they’re PACKED with meat and other delicious ingredients. Anytime I grab something to go, I’m able to split it between 2 – 3 meals depending on the day. You can’t go wrong with the chicken dumpling soup either! The atmosphere is welcoming and updated. Staff is super friendly and willing to accommodate. Definitely two thumbs up!

A few things to say– rarely do you walk in to a place and feel comfortable and right at home! Ive had the joy of going to scratch deli several times in one week and the entire experience was exactly what I’d want a coffeeshop to be! The staff are absolutely amazing and inviting, the coffee great, the atmosphere wonderful, the food choices also uniquely crafted and enticing! I cant say enough about this place! I love finding that one place I want to keep coming back to. this is the one! Ive time there to spend hours studying, as well as planned a meeting, and soon im hosting a brunch social there! Scratch deli is able accomodate it all! I’m just happy they are now my neighbours :)

I stopped in here with a friend for a late lunch. The place was mostly empty and it became evident that much of the business is take out, though there are a few booths and tables to eat at there. The furnishings are new, clean, and somewhat trendy. As you walk in you first encounter the coffee bar which we did not try. It smelled like decent coffee though. Across from the coffee bar is a ton of merchandise for the café; I was a little confused by that. Moving further to the back you see the sandwich counter. From here you can order from the menu of three pre-configured subs or grab a clipboard and custom make your sandwich by choosing meats and toppings. There is a fair selection of those, but I decided to try the first one on the menu, the Italiano. My friend made his own custom sandwich with rye bread and pastrami and corned beef. Also, you can apparently order the ingredients to go if you just want some deli meat or cheese to take home. The sandwiches are huge. The sandwiches are also expensive. $ 15 for my Italiano sandwich that included chips, but no drink. Definitely big enough for two meals, but still too expensive for a casual lunch for me. That said, I really enjoyed my sandwich, as did my friend. The bread was soft and fresh, there was plenty of meat(they claim a ½ pound), and all the toppings were fresh and well proportioned. I took the second half of my sandwich home and will enjoy it again later. I would give this place 5 stars, but it seems a bit too expensive for a sandwich place and ordering via clipboard was awkward. I would prefer more pre-configured sandwiches to choose from. Perhaps they’ll add more as they develop the menu since the place is pretty new and the owners make good food(see the Kitchen and Lounge across the street!).

Came here for the first time as «that guy», asking for a sandwich with no bread in a deli. Turns out one of the two super nice gals working the place doesn’t eat bread either, which was cool. It was just a few minutes before they had a scheduled private party and there wasn’t a hint of impatience in the air. She took her time and crafted a hell of a breadless sandwich that absolutely destroyed any sense of hunger I may have walked in with. Thanks a bunch, Scratch gals. Y’all know how to run a place!

The sandwiches were tasty, and much better than what you could get at a typical sub joint in Chicago. Fresh ingredients and good bread. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. The only downsides for me were the prices. For two sandwiches it costs $ 25, with a side and a pickle. Granted they were big, and good, but I’m not used to spending sit down meal cash for take out sandwiches. Otherwise, the atmosphere was pretty bad, definitely do takeout, it looked like a hair salon but maybe it’s a work in progress. But the sandwiches were tasty and huge, we will go back.

The Ultimate Deli is the best Sandwich I’ve had! The slaw on top was a nice touch. It was huge too! I had lunch and dinner. I can’t wait to try the rest. Such a chill/cool atmosphere too. I have to edit this! They just added Paninis to the menu and the Jam Packed is now the best sandwich I’ve had! Turkey, Bacon jam, provolone and spinach! OMG! So good!

Walked in looking forward to lunch. No one greeted me at the coffee counter and I waited there for a few minutes. I walked to the back counter and both attendants looked at me and said nothing. I filled out two sandwich orders, and like five minutes later the girl took my papers and started working on them. It wasn’t a long wait before she said I was ready, and when i got home I realized there were no chips which I ordered with each sandwich. The hot sandwich was freezing cold and the cold sandwich(says my husband) was awful. He wouldn’t even eat it. My daughter’s chicken noodle soup only had like four noodles too. Enough says — we won’t be going back. Oh and it was upwards of $ 30 total.
