After sampling the Latin American fare on Jonesboro Road, what better way to top off your meal(and cool down the fire in your mouth) than with an ice-cold Mexican paleta? Mmmmm… La Suprema is tucked away in the left hand corner of the same shopping center as Carniceria Garcia #5 and can be a little hard to see from the road. The interior of their ‘store’ is really just a storage and loading space and you’ll buy your paletas from a vendor with a blue push cart on the sidewalk out front. The flavors offered are pretty standard: Vanilla, Pineapple, Coconut, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, Nuts, etc etc. La Suprema is a cash-only business and the vendor you deal with may or may not speak any English. Don’t let that deter you though, did I mention the paletas are only $ 1 a piece? ¡Que Ganga!
