Consolidated Auto Service Center

After asking for a written letter stating this is the best they can match my paint and threatening to take it to another shop that could match and taking them to court for those costs Consolidate agreed to repaint the bumper. This time it was a perfect match. Glad they fixed but wish they had done it right to begin with and had not given me such a hard time and tried to make me believe I wasn’t seeing right.

I am not sure if the recent buyout of this place had anything to do with the qualifications of the personnel working on my car and the managers here, but I would recommend steering clear of this place.
I brought my BMW in for collision repair. I pick up my car, looks great! I go to drive off and notice that my cup holders are all smashed in and wont pop out. Ugh! They were perfectly fine when I had my car dropped off there. No big deal right? I have to drive around in a rental car for one more day until they can fix it the next day.
Next day arrives and I go to pick up my car. Cup holders are fine now, looks great! I ask that they pay for the gas I had to use up in my rental car for the extra day I drove it, manager says «dont worry about it we got it!» Perfect… or so I thought… I go to drive off an notice that my Air/​Heat control unit is all messed up. The rear defrost button and AC button no longer go on, and the air flow wont change speeds.
At this point I decided it was a good idea not to get burnt by this place and actually take it to a BMW dealership that knows what they are doing. One hour later of a simple diagnostics test and they find out that somehow someone at the collision center had turned my car’s «transport mode» on while working on the car which basically saves battery by selectively shutting down things… like my ac/​heat unit.
The kicker? Enterprise rental car calls me saying they need to bill me for the additional gas I had used from when I picked up the car. I ask them if anyone from Consolidated Auto had told them they would pay for it. nope! Enterprise ended up eating the cost since apparently Consolidated said it was too complicated for them to pay out the gas money to them? Essentially the manager lied to me about paying for the gas just to get me out the door.
I would like the 5 hours of my life and work back that I had to spend extra on this place due to their incompetency.

Someone had hit my boyfriend’s car and did some pretty impressive damage for a low speed hit. GEICO gave him a few options, when we lived in the area, and we decided to go to Consolidated because of my co-​workers who highly recommended them.
3 words: Fast, easy, and reliable.
In a nut shell, they were great. The whole process was so easy, it was hard to believe that we were dealing with cars and accidents, which can always be so trying on patience. All of the staff were extremely nice and more than willing to answer any and all questions. Luckily they have a good working relationship with the Enterprise down the road, so all we had to do was leave our rental at Consolidated instead of bringing it back to the Enterprise shop.
Overall, thumbs up.

I had my wife’s car looked at for a second opinion and got prompt and informative answers for a very reasonable price. I’ve always gotten good service here for all my vehicles, both at the body shop and mechanic shop. Ryan and JP are great.

My 2004 Camry broke down heading home from Naperville il on I88. Power steering went out along with AC. Battery light and check engine light came on as well. I Pulled over in Naperville and called the nearby Toyota dealer. They Couldn’t help until next week as they were booked. I didn’t know what to do so I called consolidated and spoke to Dan, the owner. He arranged for a tow that was there in an hour and brought it back to his shop. The next morning his mechanic called with an estimate and diagnosis. I needed a water pump and new belt. They had the work done by 1:00 pm and at a price LOWER than I was quoted by Toyota. I will always go to consolidated from now on!

My mom backed into my parked car (womp) and I brought it in to Consolidated Auto Service Center, Inc. as a preferred Geico repair site. I could not be happier with the ease of this process, quality of work, and the customer service they provided. I received a call and follow up email from Mike or Rob throughout every step of the repair process (replacing both drivers side doors and repainting) and they were prompt to answer any questions I had. When I picked up the car it was sparking clean and they even offered to drop off my rental car for me. The only bummer is their shop is pretty far from where I live, so if I ever need their services again it is out of the way.

Awesome service. I love that I can check on the status of my repair and see the progress all online.

I always know that I can count on CASCI’s solid advice. I love that they are not only experts on auto repair but they truly take away the headache that comes with insurance. The owner is very knowledgable and can confidently answer any insurance question. Not to mention how fair they are! I got my battery replaced there, and had trouble with it so I had to bring it back (pain!) but they simply wrote it off as a bad battery and gave me a brand new one for free and made my car a priority so I could get out of there as fast as possible! Truly a great establishment and highly recommended.

The team @ CASCI is the best out there. I have had several different cars serviced over the past few years. The work is always top notch & done on time. I shopped around on the last job I had done & they were the most cost effective by over $ 130 dollars compared to 3 other shops. Also, i feel that their customer service goes above & beyond the norm. Every employee is courteous & knowledgeable. I highly recommend that you give these folks your business. You will not be disappointed.

I joined Unilocal today because I was so angry and disappointed by the lack of customer service at Consolidated. I called this morning to get an appointment to get an estimate to have body work on my car. I was asked what insurance would be paying for the work. I explained that someone who was driving an Enterprise rental car hit me and I had Farmers Insurance; I was put on hold. The person on the phone returned and I was told that he had talked to his boss and it was OK to have an estimate done this afternoon and I didn’t need an appointment. This afternoon at about 4:00 I pulled into the body work estimates bay and waved to three employees who all ignored me. Then, after a couple of minutes, Ryan approached and asked if I had been helped (He had a Blackhawks T-​shirt on so I didn’t even know he was an employee). I started telling my story and got to the Enterprise part and he stopped me and said (paraphrasing): Oh, no, no. We don’t do work with Enterprise. You’re getting estimates? No, that’s not how things work anymore. Enterprise only will pay $ 23 an hour and that’s too low for us. You just go to Enterprise. I said that I didn’t tell him who was paying for it and that I had called earlier to make sure I could get an estimate. I asked if he was refusing my business. He said that Enterprise wouldn’t pay and I wouldn’t be able to pay the difference. He then said with a smug grin, «You are not worth 20 minutes of my time.» I repeated this back to him and he revised his remarks to say that it’s not worth either of our time and that I would never come back to get the work so I should just leave. Yeah, well you know what’s worth 20 minutes of my time? Spreading the word about jerks like you.

Car troubles are often a place of disturbing unknowns. What should we expect? What rights do we have? How do we know something is done correctly?
Consolidated’s progress tracking tool is fun and provides a lot more confidence in the process as it gives you a peek at the steps and the level of craft that is applied.
Smart stuff.
As someone who designs services for a living I am pleased to see this type of service enrichment being added.
The craftsman who works on your car will greet you, email you and stays with you the whole time so you don’t have to explain what is happening every time.
Nice to have the continuity and connect with the person that is caring for you vehicle.
They become real and you feel more like a person as well.
The whole shop is clean and the waiting room is stocked with snacks and drinks which is also a nice departure from old shops with grimey furniture and attitude.
That continues to build my confidence.
They need to keep working on the rough edges of service hand offs and expectation building but for a company that probably doesn’t have an expert in designing services, I am very impressed.
Someone there gets it and the team is clearly on board which makes a big difference.
The work was good and they were reasonably patient with my very particular eye.
Consolidated is not quite a 5 yet but they get 5 stars for my review because I can see they are on their way and committed.

These guys have repaired various cars for me over the years and I have never had anything other than an outstanding experience with them. My last experience was with
my sprinter van where someone had scraped the side. They repaired it in a reasonable time and had even assisted me with the insurance claim. I wish everything in life was as smooth as dealing with these guys! The red head stout service rep even gave me a ride to work and picked me up upon completion!

Unfortunately I am too familiar with getting a car repaired having been hit and run, rear ended and sideswiped throughout the years. I was dreading having the door of my black CRV repaired because I’ve had bad experiences with body shops matching the paint. After these guys finished with it, the car looks better than it did when it was towed in. Paint matches perfectly, but the customer care AND service they provide is outstanding. As annoyed as I was (and still am) with the fact that some a-​hole hit the car, I can’t say enough great things about the work they do. The fact that you can watch the progress online is priceless. The vehicle was delivered almost a week ahead of schedule (only my insurance company caused delay). I would not hesitate to recommend these guys.

Consolidated Auto has exceeded my expectations of customer service standards. I felt they devote equal importance in assuring the quality of work provided as in assuring my customer satisfaction. I had an accident and am insured through Geico, therefore my car was towed there. The service coordinator, Ryan, called me with updates on a regular basis until my car was finished and completed the work within the time frame quoted. He also offered to fix an issue unrelated to the accident however because he already had taken the car apart I would not be charged at a later time for the body work. They called me to follow up and make sure everything was working well and to ask if I had any problems with the customer service end. I highly recommend Consolidated Auto!

Excellent coordination of care and service with my insurance (Geico) and Enterprise Car Rental– it went very smoothly.
Great website– you can track the progress of your car’s repairs and they even include pictures– so helpful. I’ve never seen that before.
Pretty good communication. It was inconsistent. They also they kept calling me on my home phone number even though I asked several times to be called on my cell phone, which sometimes meant delays in me getting information or being able to call them back to release them to work on my car.
Friendly service from the woman (Christina, I think) on the phone and at check out. There was someone working there that was swearing up a storm when I was paying– kind of weird and not super professional.
They did a great job on my car after an accident.
Overall, it was a very good experience.

Had some hail damage and was calling around to shops to see how backed up they were. These guys refused to even tell me how long the waitlist was without seeing the vehicle. Sure guys, let me leave work, drive over there, and lose an hour out of my day so you can tell me that you can fix it in October.

I’ve been to CASCI twice for body work and once for an extra paint job. I just picked up my car yesterday! The customer service is just over the top phenomenal. The employees are nice, clean, and all about pleasing their clients.
Both times I went for body work involved insurance companies (Geico and State Farm) and CASCI worked with them on my behalf so that all I had to do was drop off my car, slip into an Enterprise rental, and come back when the work was done. There was no complicated billing. And let me tell you — having CASCI work with the rental car place for me was the best!
I could monitor their progress on my car throughout the day with online pictures. When my car was close to being done, they sent a friendly text to my phone, an email, and a later a personal phone call (not an automated system).
When I picked up my car yesterday it was clean inside and out (which was great after the Chicagoland winter left salt all over my car mats). I left the rental car at CASCI and did not have to deal with Enterprise at all.
I asked the people at CASCI if they could repair a small crack on my bumper (from all of those snow/​ice walls during the huge snow storm) and they glued it back together for free!
After a previous visit, I noticed that the paint was coming off of the hood of my car. CASCI explained that the paint chips from highway driving, but said that they would repaint it for free and use a special coating that would prevent that from happening in the future.
My experiences at CASCI really indicate to me that they are high tech in their communications and very customer focused. I have been pleased with the body work that they’ve done on my car.

I had minor body damage that I had CASC complete. Overall the quality of the work looks good, but they lacked in the customer service department.
The final bill came in 60% over the estimate ($ 1,000) and they never called to confirm with me that it was still approved to move ahead with the work, nor did they explain why it came in at a different cost. When I questioned it they said «what does it matter, Insurance is paying for it». In general they were unresponsive when I would call or email to get updates on the car. While the quality of work was decent, I would not go back.
