When traveling to Center City, MN for business, Forest Lake, MN was the nearest lodging in the state(Wisconsin was slightly closer, but I preferred being between my destination and MSP). I found Country Inns & Suites and reserved a room. For $ 95/night in December, I had a clean and warm room with a king size bed. The hotel is dated, but it is maintained well. There was a normal size bathroom with shower/tub, a small open to the room closet, a small fridge/microwave, bed, chair, desk, nightstand and small dresser. The carpet/paint were in good shape and the best was comfortable. The breakfast was standard for these chains — Yoplait yogurt, Kellog cereals, oatmeal, packaged breads, milk/juice/coffee, make your own waffles and some meats. I stuck with oatmeal and fruit, because I don’t like all of that sugar in the morning. The staff leaves a bit to be desired — not very attentive or friendly. But, after you check-in, you really don’t need any help from them. Indoor pool/hot tub. Wall mount mini-hairdryer for those who care.
