Dana Rose Arevalo Massage & Bodywork

I am a bodyworker, of over 15 years now and am very selective about who I see for massage and bodywork. Dana is who I love to go to. She was a favorite teacher of mine and a beloved teacher of so many !
You can feel the passion she has for healing work and she is continually learning more. Her heart is golden and her integrity and kindness, are of the highest kind. Anyone who meets her would know this. Her knowledge of the body, experienced hands, expertise in many healing modalities, passion, and heart bring me back whenever I can!
The negative review was clearly written, however this does not describe Dana or how she operates in any clear way-​there is always more to the story. I asked Dana about the negative review… the woman who wrote the review, had bought a gift certificate from Dana, for a massage for her brother. He missed his appointment. Dana had to call him, when he was a no show. A no show is obligated to pay for the appointment time in any established business. Dana generously offered to reschedule him without a rescheduling fee. but it didn’t work for him and he didn’t try to make it work. The sister didn’t know the whole story until Dana shared the texts with her. So. the negative review is not at all accurate. Unfortunately, when the sister learned the truth, she offered to remove her negative Unilocal review, only if Dana refunded the money. The negative review is a complete misrepresentation of Dana Rose. Dana is one of the good ones– one of the best ones — don’t do yourself the disservice of missing out on Dana!

Astounded with Dana’s unprofessionalism and lack of communication. I wanted to purchase an hour long massage as a gift for someone, though after speaking with her on the phone, she told me she «usually prefers» to work 90 minutes, which would be $ 150. Because of these two great Unilocal reviews, I decided to trust her and send her a check for the full amount (as I live out of town). BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT WAS EVEN MADE, she cashed the check. After texting back and forth for DAYS (she won’t return calls, only text and in a small town with very spotty reception, texts OFTEN are delayed or in her case — she just doesn’t respond), the day of the appointment finally arrived. It was scheduled for the evening, though in the early afternoon, it needed to be rescheduled. She NEVER responded nor answered the calls and only later claimed she had a 24 hour cancellation policy. I can understand and respect that kind of policy, especially for a small business, however, THAT WAS NEVER STATED. She didn’t even offer to acknowledge she hadn’t said so, nor offer any other availability. Unbelievable. I tried to reach out to her again to ATTEMPT to gain some clarity from her and give her the benefit of the doubt or a chance to make things right, though NO RESPONSE AGAIN. She may be a decent masseuse (we’ll never know), but as a business owner, this behavior, neglect and unprofessionalism shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone. Ever.

Dana is one of the very best bodyworkers in Marin, or anywhere! No matter what your issue or concern she will help you to feel better and to increase your vitality. She has been in practice for over 20 years and is skilled in a variety of modalities, both structural and energetic. She tailors each session to your needs. Dana is also a beloved massage instructor (she was my very best teacher) and has trained many of the better bodyworkers in the area. She taught for many years at Alive & Well! and still teaches there occasionally. She now teaches mainly at Diamond Light in San Anselmo. She has private offices in both Forest Knolls and Mill Valley. If you want to feel your very best, go see Dana!

Dana is A-​Mazing. I am a bodyworker /​massage therapist and often have trouble finding someone that has studied and practiced enough modalities. Dana is a pro. She is so competent on a musculo-​skeletal level… knows anatomy, sees imbalances. I need this and appreciate it. Dana’s energy work is right on as well. I am so grateful I found her. She is saving my life and making being in my body a much better experience. Do yourself a favor and go see her for a session. She does not disappoint. Professional and very present. Dana and her bodywork are a necessity for my well being.
