This place is amazing for cheese and meat pairing and craft brews! I usually purchase my wine next door at Mr. Vino and then have the gentlemen behind the counter pair cheeses and meats for me. They always let you sample before committing. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it… a true treat for Forest Hills foodies. The owner is there frequently and personally thanks you for your purchase… a few times I’ve received a small discount or even free chocolate just for being a loyal customer. They make their mozzarella fresh in-house, and if you’re lucky, you’ll be there when it comes out warm and ready!

BECAREFULOFEXPIREDFOODS, ESPECIALLYCHEESES! And don’t expect to get your money back for bringing it back because the cashiers apparently do not have any authority over the cash register(even though they charge your credit card without a problem!) and the owner is no where to be found! Super aggressive cashier, definitely lost a customer over that incident!

This place was a delayed love for me. When I initially visited when they opened, I didn’t really understand what a great place this is. Now, it’s a weekly trip for me. Love the revolving selection of craft beers(single bottles and cans), many of which are from local breweries. Plenty of nice food products to choose from to go with said beers. Already have had some great recommendations from the friendly, attentive staff. Be prepared to spend some money, though. This is not the place for people shy about spending a bit for some quality, but upscale stuff.

I love this place. They have pairing recommendations for just about every cheese/meat in the store.

Great place to get things for your next dinner or cocktail party. An excellent gourmet deli stocked with a good cheese selection, premium deli meats(several different Serrano, prosciutto, speck etc). But I come here because I love their selection of smoked salmon and caviar. I always get my Irish and Scottish salmon. Last New Year’s Eve bought a $ 35 caviar that was the bomb. I am addicted to Fairway’s smoked salmon and this is exactly same quality and price. They also have some prepared salads like marinated artichokes and make sandwiches. Also interesting crackers(some gluten free), breads and a variety of condiments. I frequently trek here to get their salmon and olives. My only complaint is one time I got Serrano ham and when I got it home it had white spots on it and tasted old. And sometimes the cheese in the case looks past its prime. Friendly service. They are usually busy. Also I wish they would carry fois gras mousse or fresh. Then it would be perfect. They are owned by same folks who own wine store next door Mr.Vino. And apparently are cousins with the Despana folks headquartered in my prior neighborhood of Jackson Heights.

Mr. Vino’s Cucina is one of those small speciality foodie store that I wish I have in my neighbourhood. Here you can pick up cheese, cured meat, condiments and beers. For a small store this size, I was pleasantly surprised by the beers they carried both local and import selection of different beer styles. Since I was staying in Forest Hill while visiting, it was convenient for some last minute purchase for some drinking and snacking at «home».

This is seriously one of the most delicious places in Forest Hills. Everything in this place is high quality and absolutely delicious! On top of that all of Vino’s workers are soooooo nice. I wish I could eat there every day.

My go-to place for comestibles, the best kind of hostess gift. Slightly expensive but great service, especially at the cheese counter. How about adding some legit coffees to your selection though?

Contrary to most people here, I did not think their cheese is overpriced. I often visit Saxelby’s at the Essex Market and I am familiar with fancy cheese pricing. The beer selection is awesome, and I am a big fan of that. What did me in here was the atrocious customer service. I was«helped» by a short, comtemptuos man who could barely pronounce words in english correctly. I know you speak spanish, and I speak spanish too. But your disdain for my questions or requests caused you to not sell me the cheese I wanted and I will be damned if I’m going to make it easier for you by speaking another language when you are treating me like I am an idiot. Never again. If you fail at respect, you don’t deserve anybody’s business.

I like Mr. Vino’s Cucina and visit regularly. It’s my preferred shop for cheeses, cured meats and a Brooklyn-style selection of beers… My real complaint is that it’s overpriced, in some cases(especially for beer) they will mark up 300% from the«real» cost. And by this I mean the price that you can find at the Key Food at Yellowstone. I don’t mind paying a premium price for rare or unique products but not everything here is rare. Check comparable products at Fresh Direct, TJ, Fairway, Whole Foods, etc. The guys are very friendly though, and there aren’t too many options in FH!

Omg! Let me say it again Omg! I heard a lot of great things about this place so a coworker and I decided to go there for our bosses Christmas gift. First off let me say the place is spotless. The products they have from cheese meat olives crackers wines pasta and pasta sauce are top shelf. Angela was amazing she helped us pick out things to go in our custom made gift basket. She also gave us some samples of olives and cheese that were to die for. There were several young men there as well and they were also extremely helpful and friendly. The basket we bought is sure to please and I know my boss will love it. If you need something Italian in your holidays this is your place

This place isn’t perfect — I wish they carried more high-end local or organic products — but they’re solid, the workers are the absolute nicest, the location is great and the food that they do have is tasty. They carry certain items, like French mayonnaise and crackers, that sell for way more in Manhattan stores, so I like to stock up here. Over the couple of years that I’ve shopped here, the quality hasn’t dipped down at all like it tends to with other places in the area. That doesn’t sound like high praise but, believe me, it is.

I like their sweet dry saucisson. I buy the one already sliced and packed in clear container. One container is around $ 5.50. They have unique selection of grourmet food like Beer Cheese. I want to try all of their food! The workers are friendly.

This place is an absolute treasure for the beer selection alone; it’s a phenomenal addition to the neighborhood. If you are a craft fan, Mr. Vino’s rotates their selection quite frequently. Come in week to week and you’ll see new stuff to try, all single bottles and bombers. I’d reckon they have about 75 unique beers at one time.(Note: craft beer is on the expensive side; always has been, and you get what you pay for in life.) To the reviewers who criticize the beer guy, don’t mistake enthusiasm and passion for snobbiness. He’s very kind if you talk to him; but yes, he knows a lot, and that can be intimidating. Just be honest about what you know and ask for a suggestion. He is bound to have something that works with your tastes. But if say you want something that tastes like Coors, consider that you’re in the wrong store, too. Anyway, this place rules. So glad there is something of this caliber that is closer than Bowery Whole Foods!

I came here this evening to purchase cheese for the first time. I came in here a couple of months ago just to take a peak. Both times the staff were really friendly. They had a decent selection of cheese. I also love the variety of dressings and olive oil they have. This is a good place to have in the neighborhood. I enjoy supporting small business’. Not to mention, the prices are reasonable for such great quality cheese. When I came in today to purchase some cheese for a road trip, everyone was extremely accommodating, and took the time to chat with me about artisan beers, and cheese. I was even offered a sample with a lovely piece of cheese on top. It happened to be the crackers that I was thinking of purchasing. Thank you! :)

Our friend was raving about this«while labeled» beer called«Lunch» that we had to try at Mr. Vino’s Cucina. We walked in at 9:40pm and Eric asked if we were looking for«Lunch». He had just sold thee last bottle 30 min ago — Nooooo! Eric(you can find him on FB at «Eric I The Beer Guy») is a beer connoisseur. He just LOVES beer and knows everything about it. He has his favorites but will help anyone out according to their tastes. My husband went in for Flavorful Hoppy, I went in for Fruity and Sour. We both found something. Roberto wanted in on the action too so he provided us with Baked good samples, rainbow cookies to be exact — Delicious! Random, but I purchased a ½lb of Wasabi peas for $ 2.50 — that’s really affordable right, compared to Kasugai. You can find all sorts of bougy stuff here: Beers, coffee, cheeses, smoked salmon, etc. I love this place, will be visiting more often!

Artisan cheeses, gourmet chocolates, fresh pasta, imported jams, olives, imported crackers from Euro, dried fruit, and craft beers. Select samples are available at times. Items make good gifts to the avid foodie. In stating the obvious, like any artisan or gourmet or specialty markets Mr. Vino’s prices are one and the same — excessively overpriced. Space is small and there is no tables or seats as it is designed for takeout only. Staff is courteous to responding inquiries, but not prompt at first sight but by selection. Around the corner is Mr. Vino wine and liquor which bears the same name, Mr. Vino, don’t know if the two have any correlation. Customer service at Mr. Vino’s Cucina bears much more substance with professionalism and friendly towards patrons unlike it’s corner neighbor Mr. Vino wine.
