Definitely one of the best barber shops in town. You have Greg who is an excellent barber. Quick and precise. I’ve been getting my haircuts from him just over a decade and as long as he’s around cutting hair he’ll be my barber. Then you have Rocky which I’ve never gotten a haircut from him but from the reaction of other people that have he is great as well. Definitely recommend to anyone that needs a new barber shop. BJORN needs a haircut. BJORN really needs a haircut. Crap, BJORN’s regular barber is no longer working at the barbershop. What does BJORN do? He goes off in search of a new barbershop. We all know that finding the right barber, stylist, salon, heck even manis and pedis can be annoying as F_CK. Luckily, Unilocal helped me quickly as 7pm was approaching on the clock on a weekday which spells normal barbershop closing time. Enter, Arsen’s Barber Shop 1. Since I have moved to Forest Hills, I’ve never even step foot inside this bright lit alleyway. Yes, I’ve walked by and glanced at it but I was never that curious or desperate as I was today. The barbershop is located on the right side no further than a couple steps entering the alleyway. Once entering the shop, there are 2 prominent chairs. One belonging to an older barber and the other to Greg. Now, depending on who you are clientele wise is where you decide who to choose. Naturally, I chose Greg not only because of the reviews he has on Unilocal but also… well because of his reviews on Unilocal. Greg did not disappoint. He has excellent chair side manners which helps because I’ve had barbers who were silent clippers and I do have a habit of nodding off into dreamland. There was a TV on showing world news and we lightly chatted about that. Furthermore, I showed Greg of the hair style I wanted and he quickly and precisely did just that. At $ 15 a haircut it is reasonable especially for the area and you know I will definitely come to him from now on. FAN.

What a great barbershop! Rocky cut my hair for the first time today and the high and tight he did came out perfect! !! Reasonably priced for the conversation and quality of the cut. I found my new barber!

These guys know what they are doing. I shave my own head so don’t do much for hair but from what I have seen both Greg and Rocky do a good job. Definitely recommended for a good shave. They are quick and spot on

5 stars across the board easily. Perfect service. Hidden Gem. The earlier you go, the better because you could be waiting a while for Greg. And he engages in conversation with you and genuinely Cares about each customer Other barbors are great as well. My go to spot hands down. Thank you for the consistency in the perfect service.

My barber Greg is a real life Edward scissor hands. I’ve been getting my hair cut by his for nearly a decade now. So obviously I like the way I look when I leave the place. Going from skin fades to tape ups with designs ok the back(My high school days). To the more elegant, trendy, professional Mad men look, he’s done it all for me. He jokes with everyone and you leave there feeling like family. I believe he came out of his womb holding a pair of scissors and probably cut his own cord. But unless you come before noon, prepare a wait. I usually call in advance to see how many people are ahead so I can plan accordingly with the meter.

I’ve been coming here for the past 4 years and Greg has done an amazing job. He’s a natural that knows how to cut hair. I usually get here in the mornings right around when they open up and almost never wait on a line, plus there’s plenty of parking in the morning although you have to pay for it.

This hidden gem is located in a alley just in one of the main streets of Forest Hill. I have been coming here for 3 years and service, price, and quality have been amazing. The barbers are all friendly and will go beyond their means to accommodate your needs and stir up a conversation to pass your time quickly. They’ll cut your hair just like how you want it, you won’t be looking at your haircut in the mirror after the haircut and saying«I paid $xx for this crap», trust me I know I’ve had so many barbers and that’s what they left me thinking after the haircut. If you do come here I would recommend my barber, Greg. He’s done a great job with my hair since coming in from day one. The other barbers are great too but I usually like to stick to one barber. The price of a Men’s Haircut is $ 13 plus gratuity at your own discretion of course which is relatively cheap compared to other barbershops that charge you $ 15 to even $ 20 dollars plus gratuity. They offer Senior Citizen prices as well as Children Prices. I recommend coming in early mornings because they are usually full and its on average a 2 persons wait, it also wouldn’t hurt to call ahead. You can get here by bus and subway which happens to be located right on the same block as the shop. If you make the choice of driving I definitely recommend you coming early because afternoon parking is impossible to find. All parking near the shop is run by pay meters and I definitely recommend paying the maximum which is 2 hours rather than getting ticketed. You wouldn’t want to be running out of the seat when your haircut is half done! The reason being is that there are numerous amounts of traffic cops looming around giving tickets which is a fact. If you’re looking for a new barbershop, look no further this one is a keeper. Give it a chance and try it out. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
