So, we’re sitting around the dinner table, and we’re halfway through our meal when it’s rudely interrupted by a loud BANG.
We all just got really quiet and Wife N. said «what.was…that?».
It came from the direction of the garage. So I opened the entry door and gave a quick look around. Hm… nothing seemed out of the ordinary. But… something in the back of my mind said «you KNOW you know that noise…»
Half a bite later I remembered. I raced back to the garage, looked above the door and, yep, sure enough, the spring had broken.
Those guys are under some serious high tension. And when they go, it’s really loud.
I knew just who to call. Ten years ago, I had them out to replace that very spring (they last about ten years; we were due). And they did a fantastic job. So, naturally, they were at the top of the call list.
The next morning, their tech arrived and not only replaced the spring but also serviced the door, lubed up all the tracks and spinny things and doohickeys, and even made a few reinforcements and repairs where he suspected things might be wearing too thin.
In all, the bill was very reasonable, and he was in and out in an hour. My garage door has been smooth, quiet and working perfectly ever since.
Thanks guys! You’ll be the first number I call in another 10 years when the next spring goes.

Terrible customer service. Unclear estimates with hidden fees. Poor business ethics and untrained salesmen. Stay away, go with Best Overhead Doors instead.
