OMG… had Jeremy’s braised beef short ribs and they were exactly what I was looking for. Fork tear apart tender, wonderful braised sauce and the veggies were perfect. Also, could not bet their wine selections; 25% off buy and take home. My husband had the trout… he loved it. He also has awesome BBQ baby back ribs; had the before and love them.

This place served good food for a decent price, but they did have some issues that will probably keep me from coming back. Service was an issue. Our server did make a couple small mistakes and forgot a thing here and there. Also, we did get cold and tired coffee. However, she was nice and otherwise efficient. This server did seem new and was a taller, younger brunette. There was another server, a middle aged, blond shorter lady who had serious attitude issues. Luckily, she was not out server, but one of our party did have to approach her with a question and she, at first, ignored our friend then finally snapped out, «I HAVENOIDEA!» Our friend was quite hurt my the way she was treated but did not want to cause a scene. Lady, if you read this, I want you to know that you cannot treat people like this and still expect to succeed in the service industry. If waiting tables is so difficult for you that you can’t do it and be nice as well, get in the kitchen.

Where do I even begin? I’ll start by saying that Gordon Ramsay would have a field day at this place. It’s got it all. Chintzy décor everywhere. A confusing, overly ambitious menu filled with dishes and drinks they may or may not have. And of course, amateurish, pseudo-sophisticated food. I ordered the tuna, one of their specials, and was served maybe three ounces of poorly executed fish from the frozen food aisle at Trader Joe’s atop flavorless risotto. My companion’s Niçoise salad was at times inedible and also topped with the same frozen fish. The bread was good. The desert was microwaved. The bill quite large. This place wouldn’t last a week in Portland, but I guess no one is the wiser out in Forest Grove. Yikes.

Ate dinner here last night for the first time since moving to Forest Grove. The server was knowledgable and explained the dishes well. She was attentive and didn’t let our drinks go empty, and was quick to return after we requested something(e.g condiments, wine, bread, etc). They had live music(a man playing guitar and singing). Sometimes the music was a little too loud, but overall a nice compliment to the atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious everyone in our party of four ordered something different: lamb, fish, seafood pasta, and steak. Overall we were all very satisfied.

Seriously good food. And a great wine list to boot. I loved eating here. Great service, great prices, and quality food. I highly recommend you check out the best kept secret in the Willamette valley.

One star is generous. 3 prawns only and almost $ 30 for a lack luster dinner.” I was with a large party and we tried to pay with three cards and were swiftly told«two cards only, it is on the menu» food tasted microwaved. Was overly salty and lacking in flavor.”

If you coming during dinner rush expect a rush if you can get a table. They make their own noodles every day. I have never eaten off the regular menu, I always pick off the daily special and have never been disappointed. They always have a beef, chicken/duck, pork and seafood special. The bruchetta(sp) is always always excellent. The wine selection is good. The staff is always very enthusiastic.

Stechino is in the rise. Had a great meal – seared Ahi – wonderful local wine from Zimri, and an all around first class evening. The restaurant was packed, live guitar music, and good service on a very busy night. The specials menu is large and changes with the season. Lots of wine to choose from. Wine tasting was going on in the front of the room. Taste some wine, but stay for dinner.

I just had the chanterelle paparadelle special. The mushrooms were hand picked just this morning and served with an exquisite cream sauce. To die for.

After reading the recent negative reviews, my husband and I chose a different restaurant for our date night dinner. Then we found ourselves looking for a coffee shop to visit and realized that FG is not a hotspot of nightlife. All the coffee shops we knew about were closed for the day. So… I suggested that we stop by this restaurant for a cup of decaf. The coffee was good but the dessert we shared was high priced and not very special. It was obvious that the waitstaff was anxious to close and just waiting for the last few tables to clear. We were served promptly but it felt very rushed. We witnessed an awkward confrontation between two employees. They were trying to be quiet but the restaurant was nearly empty and it was hard not to see them arguing.

Worst customer service, EVER. The food is decent, but the sarcastic and snide comments from that snooty waiter ruined my meal. Just because I am a student on a budget does NOT mean I should be treated like trash. Will not return anytime soon.

We came in for lunch with our two kids, and learned that they do not provide highchairs or booster seats. We were very surprised. When we asked why, our server said they don’t get very many kids in. As a general manager of a restaurant, I found this extremely unacceptable. They can afford to have at least one of each. We walked out without eating. To say we were turned off is an understatement. We probably won’t even come here for date night.

I have read Unilocal reviews for a long time now, and never had an experience — good or bad — that I felt justified the need to start an account. My opinions were never strong enough either way to believe I could sway someone to eat or not to eat. That has all changed tonight… I couldn’t get to my computer fast enough this evening to write this review. My dad had been talking this place up all week so I got excited. First, let me say this place is not family friendly. No high chairs or kids menus, they are too good for that. When asked if they had accommodations for the kids, the first waitress walked away in silence, then the second informed us there were no such accommodations upon pouring us our water. Second, we should have understood we were not welcome when the whole waitstaff and kitchen staff stared at us as we entered as if we were the walking dead. We were actually greeted with a half-smile and the statement, «We just want to warn you it is getting around that time of night right now where the wait is going to be pretty long.» I wanted to leave, but my dad was insistent on staying because the food was so good. Ordered our food and a juice for our son, no booze. 15 minutes later my dad took it upon himself to walk to the bar and fetch some orange juice after a request to the waitress turned up empty. 20 minutes, no food. 35 minutes, no food, 45 minutes… finally some food. To make things short… TERRIBLE. One member of our part was served a closed mussel, we ordered french fries for our son, and all the food came out and the waitress said, «OH! The french fries!» 10 minutes later with no french fries, the waitress has the gall to come to us and say, «French fries are coming, I didnt forget them dont worry». 5 minutes, here come the french fries, dripping in grease and partially frozen on the inside. But dont worry, she didnt forget. We dont get out much with work and kids, and it is really a treat when we get to. Snood, stuck up places like this and what a lot of places are turning out to be now, are the reason why we choose to stay home. Good food and good service, is that so hard?

I never leave 1 star reviews but now I can’t say that. We had a party of 6 come to this place based on reviews from our neighbors. We were seated near the kitchen and got 2 little bowls of bread at our table. Each of us got a piece of bread and we asked for more and received a smaller bowl of bread for only a couple people about 20 mins later. 25 minutes AFTER that we were brought more bread. The waitress said she wasn’t trying to fill us up on bread and that our food was still being made. There was only 2 other couples in the restaurant and food kept being brought out and sent back to the kitchen. The kitchen was smokey and filling up the main dining area with smoke making me think they kept messing up? A total of one hour after taking our orders, our food arrived. The red sauce pasta tasted like noodles with canned tomato sauce. The beer cheese soup was bitter and inconsistent. Terrible. The new York strip steak was ordered«medium well» and came out burnt with charcoal on the outside and bloody red on the inside. The gnocchi was tasteless. The chicken carbonara tasted like noodles with bland unflavored cheese sauce. I talked to the owner, Randy, about how terrible our food was and he asked if we wanted dessert, agreed that the soup was bitter, and comped our meals. We paid for 2 meals that the guys ended up eating because they were so hungry from waiting to eat for so long. We declined the desserts and waited about 20 mins to pay to leave. The two waitresses were awkward and avoided eye contact with us making it very uncomfortable. Horrible experience!

Wonderful restaurant option in Forest Grove. Food is similar to what you could get from a hip restaurant in downtown Portland. Save yourself the drive and some $$ and eat local. Staff is excellent, especially the guy waiter — you’ll know who I’m talking about when you get him. Staff makes a huge difference in your dining experience. We’ve eaten there when it first opened and again recently with the new owner. Our experience was just as good.

Absolutely terrible! I came because I heard such good things about this place. When I walked in the place was packed but my party was seated fairly quickly. I later realized that almost all the tables had no food on them and most of the people looked bored while waiting for their food. The specials menu, a chalkboard on the far side of the room was too far and small to read and our waitress didn’t seem to even know what the specials were or even what to recommend ordering. We ended up ordering the bruschetta appetizer which the kitchen ended running out of the ingredients that were stated in the menu. Then we waited an entire hour for our entrees to arrive, and our waitress had totally forgotten about us. She didn’t come to refill our waters or even give us the complementary bread. We had to ask another waiter. And when we asked for another tiny basket of bread he said he would ask… Whatever that means. Our waitress came back after 45ish minutes and asked us if we wanted dessert, and we told her our main course hadn’t even arrived. Without much of an apology she walked back to the kitchen to check our food. Or so I thought. She can back saying only 2 more minutes and that it was because it was such a busy night and I looked around the room which looked mostly empty. When the food finally arrived, my entire party was sorely disappointed. The food was cold, had a strange consistency, and overall unappetizing flavors. The Seafood Pasta had good flavor but the noodles were like packaged ramen noodles. The pork loin which was a special was dry and the sauce was sour and thick. I can’t even remember the last dish we tried it was that memorable. And the icing on this terrible cake was the overpricing. I was not impressed. Not worth even half the price we paid. Fin.

Oh, man. This is the review I didn’t want to write. In fact I’ve sat on it a month to really be sure of what I wanted to say. But it needs to be said. My prior reviews here have been 5*s. In its early incarnations, the food here absolutely deserved it – absolutely awesome. But the last two times we’ve eaten here the food was problematic. We took some friends to dinner here(after raving about this place for months to them), and the(previously fantastic) Chicken Saltimboca was very dry and overcooked. I shrugged it off as maybe just a bad night(heck, I’m sure even Gordon Ramsey himself has the occasional off night). But we returned again a month ago, ordering one of the nightly specials which was a ground beef steak stuffed with blue cheese. Wife N ordered a confit of chicken(leg and thigh, pan seared crispy). The food took a really long time(over 25 minutes) and we noticed the place filling up with smoke. The owner himself delivered our food to the table, and it was just frazzled. My ground beef steak was total charcoal on the outside(i mean, like, really black all over), and while I’m sure it once had flavor, it was now inedible. Wife’s confit was cooked to the point where the chicken gets so dry it turns stringy and chewy. Even the skin was just chewy. Look, I cook some pretty awesome stuff at home myself. Anyone can have a bad night – heaven knows I’ve made plenty of downright awful stuff in my time as well. But it would have been far better for them to just be honest, head to our table and apologize — «So sorry, we totally overcooked your food and I want to make sure you have a great experience… we’re preparing another one for you right now, can I comp you a glass of wine or another appetizer while you wait?» That would have been great, perfect customer service, and it would totally have turned it around. Instead, they pressed forward and delivered clearly burned-to-a-crisp food. The burger was around $ 20. For a $ 20 stuffed ground beef patty and an $ 18 chicken leg/thigh, we deserved better. I can’t rate Stecchino a 1 on this – they’re still not a 1. But this was definitely sub-par, in the«Meh» category, and I’m going to have to be honest on this one, much as it pains me to write this.

Great find for short stay one night stop in this tiny hamlet. Atuey and Shana were delightful. Atuey’s presentation of the evening faire and service was like watching a fusion of Vince Vaughan and Kramer working a room. The food was as delightful as the service. Don’t know if we will ever pass this way again but if we do this will definitely be a stop.
