I’ve boarded at many barns around western Washington county, and have seen a lot of good and bad over the years. I’ve boarded multiple horses at Lovoi stables for over 3 years in full care, and have only positive things to say about the owner, facilities, and staff. Barn owner has been very accommodating of my special snowflake, high-maintenance horses, and I feel very happy to have them here. Hay is high quality, and my senior, hard-keeper horses have maintained weight nicely. The barn owner monitors weight closely, and is helpful and willing to work with me if I think something needs to change in their diet. Their supplements and medications are always fed, which hasn’t always been the case at other barns I’ve been in. My horses get a ton of turnout, and are so happy. My lifelong cribber stopped cribbing once I moved her to Lovoi, thanks to the turnout situation, ample amount of hay provided, and low-stress environment. Arenas are in good condition and worked regularly. There’s lots of property to ride out on as well. Stalls are cleaned well, buckets scrubbed and water is frequently filled. My horses are in great health, and the happiest they’ve ever been. Most importantly, my horses are watched very closely. If anything happens, or if anyone is acting sick, they notice and contact me immediately. They caught a bad impaction colic literally minutes after it started, allowing my horse to get immediate treatment and recover quickly. Communication is great. The one only downfall is that this is a public boarding barn. I’ve seen some real creatures come and go. People that did not respect the facility, other boarders, their horses, or the staff. These people come, are annoying, and then eventually leave on poor terms, like they do everywhere. Then maybe they come on Unilocal and write a bad review, who knows… That’s the one downfall of being a boarder that you will find at any barn.

I so rarely post reviews but the«experience» that the anonymous C J joined Unilocal to post about flies in the face of my own and frankly reads like the rantings of someone with an axe to grind, so I can’t in good conscience let it go unchallenged. Lovoi Stables is run by competent folks who in my experience do indeed care about and understand horses and riders. The trainers and owner bring decades of horse experience in a variety of disciplines to the table and are helpful and generous with their expertise. The barn owner/manager lives on site and walks the aisles often, including after hours and weekends, to do general wellness checks so owners and vets can be alerted of any potential issues, which for me pretty thoroughly disproves accusations of laziness or negligence. Anyone who knows horses understands how quickly seemingly minor illness can become catastrophic, so this is one of the things that makes me feel most comfortable boarding at this barn. I have personally seen and heard of several crises averted by this proactive approach and I think their safety record for a barn of 50 or so horses, from what I have seen over a couple of years and spoken about with other boarders, is pretty impressive. The bottom line is my horse is healthy and happy, which is the true measure of any boarding facility, and I would recommend this barn to a friend without hesitation.
