Great food, and great service! I love all the speciality rolls they have. It’s great for going on dates and even better going in big groups. The rolls are big, so it’s fun to order a few and share them with a group of friends.

Probably the best sushi I’ve had. The traditional and more exotic rolls are both exceptional, and the bento is very popular. The prices are great and while the service is slow the food is well worth the wait. I have come before and will be coming again for sure.

I have been here twice with my family. We have enjoyed the food both times. The wait is long for your food, and if you come during a busy time, you may not have a seat for a while. It is kind of akward sitting in the middle of the restaurant in comfy chairs while you can see everyone enjoying their meal. The water is brought to you in a plastic jug, which was unusual but it did the trick. The soda pop is in cans, would prefer if it was from a fountain, just for taste. The waitresses are very friendly, and work hard. I look forward to coming back again.

This place has it all. The food, the service, the atmosphere definitely hit the spot tonight. Though a bit secluded in location, FG Sushi is definitely worth it. To begin, the salad was fresh and the dressing was phenomenal. I heard it was a secret and now I definitely know why — if I had the recipe, I would be rich. It’s so light yet satisfying, with a hint of citrus! The sashimi was incredibly fresh and melt in your mouth. All the rolls and the noodles(we had the dragon roll, grasshopper roll, and yakisoba) was a hearty portion and hit the spot in flavor town. On top of the food being so worth it for the price, the service was friendly and I definitely felt at home. The man in the front, I believe he’s the owner, even introduced himself to me and shook my hand while they were busy and mopped with customers! That’s the homey atmosphere I look for in restaurants :) If you’re ever in the neighborhood and looking for great sushi with friendly faces that care about your dining experience, hit this place up.

Their food is good but it’s a really uncomfortable environment, as they’re always mistreating their employees on the floor. I’ve only been in here twice and after watching them yell at their employees twice I can honestly say I won’t be coming back.

Great place to eat ! They always have their lunch specials(which is the takeout price all day) on the teriyaki and the orange chicken. Good food for a good price! We always had the usual, why mess with something that’s not broken right? The chicken teriyaki, and orange chicken. I have also true the shrimp tempura, California rolls, and spring rolls, and they were all yummy, and most of all… FRESH! The restaurant itself has a very laid back feeling! Also, we became regulars ordering once a week(always called in our to go orders) by the third time I called the owner already knew who I was and had our order dialed down! They’re always so friendly, you can’t beat great customer service! When we moved the owner actually gave us some dessert on the house and thanked us for our business!

Sushi was fresh and tasty. Spicy tuna roll was very good. Service was good and staff very friendly. Would definitely return when I’m back in town.

Great food, pretty good customer service most of the time, and good prices. The only complaint I would have about this place is the size, it’s a small restaurant and with it being one of the few sushi restaurants in the area and a university just down the street it can get pretty busy.

I’ve been to Japan twice and FG Sushi gets very close not just in presentation but in taste to the real thing, both in their sushi menu but in their bento, udon, and sushi menu. It’s a great price as well! It’s very filling as well, although they tend to be swamped around dinner time. It’s easier to order take out for dinner.

This was recommended to us and we were excited to give it a try. The waitress initially gave us a warm and friendly welcome, but after our order was in, it all went down hill. Our sushi and bento boxes were ok, not great, not bad. But, when I asked for more than the teeny-tiny bit of tempura dipping sauce, it never came. This isn’t a huge deal, but we seemed to be intentionally ignored, with the bill just dropped on our table. The waitress asked at the end, «how was everything?» and when I kind of just shrugged my shoulders, there was no response, she walked away. So, I’m not sure why we were directed here, food is ok, but service seemed below average.

Service is a hit or miss when I go. I’ve seen regulars come up and order, chat, get their food, and leave while I was still waiting for my called-in takeout of the same order. Other times, the service is prompt and professional. In spite of that, the food is ALWAYS amazing. I love the salads, rice, sushi nigiri, sashimi, and the terriyaki chicken. I’ve never had a negative experience with the food, and I only ever get take-out for me and my coworkers, so I don’t really have an issue with the customer service one way or the other. It seems like a pleasant college hangout spot most days, and it’s cool that they seem to know alot of the kids’ names, so I might try going there to get some work done, but for now, I’m really happy just for the food.

This is a quaint little sushi/Japanese food spot close to the University. My family and I came here one night because we were craving for some kind of rice dish for dinner. They were really busy that night so the service was really slow. After being seated it took at least 15 minutes for someone to approach us. We placed our order consisting of some entrees and some sushi dishes. The server seemed flustered and in a mad rush. She came back with glasses of water that were barely half full. ??? Ooookay… Our entrees didn’t come till almost 45 minutes later and they forgot the sushis so we waited an additional 20 minuted for those to come. I understand it was really busy and they seemed short-staffed on that night but it doesn’t take away the frustration we felt as customers. The one thing we have to give them credit for is the good food. It really was very good so we did leave full and satiated. Hopefully, if we find ourselves here again the next time we’re in town the service is better and the food is just as good.

Enjoyed it well enough, still new sushi though. Also had the teriyaki chicken and the Orange chicken. Service was good and the food arrived in a timely manner. Will try again sometime soon and see how it goes.

We recently moved to Forest Grove and were wondering where good places to eat were. My husband drove by this place on his way to find the post office, and said it looked neat so we stopped in. The restaurant is really small & cozy, feels more like a living room with some tables and chairs. Service was quick, helpful, and hospitable. The food was super good! We each got a bento dinner(spicy pork for me, beef for him) and a spicy tuna and tuna pepper roll. Serving sizes were ample, and price was pretty comparable to what you’d find elsewhere, if not a bit cheaper. The tuna rolls were actually spiced, which is a pleasant surprise from the norm. We’ll definitely be back.

On any given day you ask anyone in my family where they want to go eat and you’ll more than likely hear at least one, if not all three of us say… SUSHI! Generally we’ll head east and visit one of the conveyor belt style sushi dining places. Yet on this particular night, we decided to stay in town and show some locally owned and operated love. When we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and kindness and within minutes had given our order and received our drinks. That’s where the hospitality ended… We waited for almost an hour and even spoke to the owner twice that it seemed to be taking quite a long time for our order to arrive. After watching two other families come and go since our order had been taken, I decided to walk to the counter to find out what the hold up was. After rushing to the back and flitting around, we were told by the waitress our order(that she took) seemed to have gotten lost. When the owner heard the commotion, he hurried over to find out what the problem was(we had already spoken to him twice about the situation). I explained to him, with frustration, that our order seemed to be ‘lost’. He then went to the back and within seconds came out with our order bagged up because it had apparently been submitted as a To-Go order. He hands me our food without so much as an apology, let alone an offer to remake it(it’d been sitting for over 45 minutes) and still charged me full price for the entire experience. Needless to say, I’m hoping this was an isolated situation, but I won’t be going back to test that theory. Which is really sad because we, as native Grovers, like to spread the hometown love and eat locally whenever possible. I hope this review saves you the hassle of going through what we went through that day.

We come here a lot, and the sushi is pretty good for small town ethnic food, but the owner seems pretty hard to deal with. We have never had the same waitress twice in about a dozen trips, or even SEEN the same waitress twice. They hire young girls who quit. The owner stands at the counter and barks orders at them, and I’m guessing they don’t like it! The new trainees get our orders wrong sometimes, but we go back because we live nearby and the food is good. If you like chicken, the bento special is a good deal. Charbroiled and a little chewy. You get the lunch price if you take it to-go.

F G Sushi is pretty good. The sushi was fresh tasting for sure and the presentation was well done on the plates. My son had some teriyaki as is his preference and he liked that. The whole problem was the service. We had to struggle to get attention for ordering and for getting refills on tea. The sushi came out in a really odd order. I got my rolls, then my mom got hers, then my daughter, and by the time my wife got hers mine was eaten. If I had waited it would have been sitting there for a good 20 minutes. I would go back, but I’d be a little nervous.

My daughter and I had a quick and delicious lunch in here the other day. Fyi they have a terriyaki chicken lunch special for $ 5 but we didnt get that.(that comes with rice and yummy salad). We ordered: miso soup, cucumber salad, inari, Philadelphia roll(my kid will eat that because it always has smoked fish) sake nigiri, and unagi nigiri and a house salad. The house salad is a big bowl of fresh greens with avocado, cucumber, and a delightful citrus dressing. Everything was tasty and we cleaned our plates. Our server was a sweet young woman with red hair. She was friendly and efficient. Sometimes the man who I think is the owner is a little abrupt but I have never had problems here with food or service. In fact, this time he brought an inari to our table after we placed our order to make sure they gave us the right one as they have two kinds, an inari pocket on the nigiri menu and a more complicated roll. We wanted the pocket. I thought that was awesome he double checked first. So, Is it the best sushi we have ever eaten? No. But its got good food, a clean restaurant, reasonable prices, and a pleasant all round experience. The only tricky bit was the parking, but we parked down the street and it was ok. If you’re in this neck of the woods give it a try!

It’s my first time here. I ordered 2 sushi rolls to go at 11:30am. I was dying of hunger, so anything should taste really good. but i was still disappointed. Rice was so dry and hard, I think they used left overs from the day before. Not impressed. I think Albertsons Cali roll would taste better. Wasabi was not good. I’m a wasabi lover, but I can’t eat spicy, so normally I would put a pea size(or smaller) in my soy sauce. but their wasabi was so tasteless, I think I put 6 or 7 pea size and turned the soy sauce all milky and I still can barely taste the tangy wasabi flavor. Maybe if you come in later in the day, they’ll give you fresh rice. it’s so close to my office, so i’ll visit again when I forgot my lunch box. staff was friendly and nice tho!
