This place could be so much more than it is! We stopped in for brunch and both ordered the quiche. It was delicious, properly reheated but it wasn’t served with anything else. I would have liked to have had side dish options: fruit cup, hash browns, chips, something but it was just the wedge of quiche so both of us were still hungry afterwards. There wasn’t a menu at the front so having never been there before we just assumed the specials written on the board was it for offerings. Once seated we saw their«menu». What a joke! The atmosphere was nice, the coffee menu looked great, but their food offerings need to be improved upon. The portions were not appropriately sized, particularly considering what Spinning Bean offers for the same price point.

The 3 is for the food. Location/atmosphere would be a 5. This place could be amazing, A real gem in forest city. Unfortunately it falls short. The biggest problem is it doesn’t know what it wants to be. Is it a coffee shop, a bar, or a restaurant? It’s certainly not a bistro. It’s a perfect coffee shop/café. I came for dinner though and didn’t get coffee. And, truly, the food was very good. I had a bacon turkey ranch on sour dough. It came with a bag of chips. Presentation being what it is, if they opened the bag and dumped the chips into the plate, it would have made a difference. They also have beer and wine. Which is fine, but the server didn’t really know anything about them. Also great: they have a very lovely patio in the back with live music. It would have been nice to know that before we sat down in the main area(with no ambient music I might add) Also not great: plasticware, plastic cups. Overall, with a few improvements this would be a fantastic place to eat. As it stands, it’s a good place for lunch, reasonably priced, and probably good for coffee(I’ll update after I try it out) or a decent place to spend an evening listening to music and drinking wine/beer on the patio.

Small, quaint establishment that is not appropriately named, with the exception of the bistro part(moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting). The weather was nice so we decided to sit out back in the open. What a wasted area with so much potential! Upkeep was severly lacking and the ground was covered in jagged drainage/landscaping rocks that were not conducive to holding table and chair legs stable, much less walking. We were looking forward to breakfast with a bloody mary and craft beer but were sadly disappointed. They didn’t have bloody mary makings and the beer was all bottled; BL, Coors Light, Mic Ultra, with a couple of craft selections. As for food, we ordered the spanish omelet which should’ve had avocado, cilantro, etc but they brought us a denver omelet instead and when I brought it to the server’s attention, he didn’t know the difference. That was not to say that the server was very nice and attentive, and did offer to have a spanish omelet made but we declined since we were pressed for time. We also had the triple play grilled cheese with bacon. It was decent but not very big so I guess fitting for the price. We did reinforce a lesson that we already knew… it’s a good sign to walk away if there are no customers and the place has been open for a while before you arrive. In short, ok food, great prices, unfitting name, very undervalued space out back in the open with tons of potential!

Have almost never been disappointed in the food. Nice selection of Mighty Leaf teas. Chicken tacos and tomato/mozzarella side is a favorite, but most sandwiches are good. Also have specials that can be nice. Surprising to see the below comment on «prices aren’t the cheapest» I don’t know how you can go below 6 bucks for a sandwich and side, especially considering this is not a fast food place, but a nice café. They do grow some of their own fruits and veggies in the summer, which is nice. There is a nice patio area out back for summer days. I have admittedly only been here for breakfast and lunch, cannot comment on evenings, but the café does close around 3pm most days to my knowledge.

I’ve eaten here several times for lunch. The lunch fare is very good. Excellent food. Portions aren’t huge. Prices aren’t the cheapest. Would recommend for a healthy alternative for lunch in Rutherford county(and there aren’t many). Cannot recommend this place for dinner. Had several inconveniences and will not even attempt to go again for supper. Arrived last Thursday night around 7:35 — trivia was going on– we weren’t playing. Ordered before dinner drinks — house wine @ $ 6/glass. Waitress served us our wine and took our dinner order. Returned a few minutes later to tell us that the kitchen had closed and they could make us a salad, but couldn’t make our meal. We should have returned the wine and left. But we paid for the wine and walked across the street for BBQ. at Lane’s. They were happy to serve us at 7:50 even though they were closing at 8:00. When we left Lane’s around 8:15, Brew House was still open.
