Hilton Garden Inn Irvine East/Lake Forest

It’s Christmas Eve so I will give them a break… however, our room never got made up as we had our DND sign on door until 11:30am. Apparently you can’t sleep in, have breakfast then come back to shower! Desk told me rooms only made up in morning! So I asked for extra towels, soap and coffee cups and noted husband taking nap, please don’t knock. 10mins later knock on door, woke him up and no soap. Don’t have the energy to call down again…

The hotel room seemed nice until we started «using» it. We couldn’t get the wifi to work. we tried to call down to ask about it, but neither phone would call through. Maybe it’s a pay wifi? If so, we couldn’t figure it out and that ridiculous if it is. In this day and age. I can go down the road to a half dozen different coffee shops/​restaurants and have all the wifi I want — or use my phone/​iPad, which is what we did (but found it irritating).
Next morning my husband starts drying his hair and the blow dryer goes out. Again, we would call but the phone doesn’t work. Argh!
Their redemption from 2 stars was that they allowed us a late checkout (1:30) so we could change clothes before driving home.
We visit this area about once a year. Next time, we will go back to nearby Ayres with free working wifi and free yummy breakfast.

Management needs to adjust their cleanliness standards. The room smelled of mildew and the common areas in the hotel were dirty with noticeable trash on the ground and dirt and stains on the walls.

I had a room with 2 queen size bed. The bathroom was pretty big which my friends and I liked. We booked the room super last minute but it totaled up to be $ 133 which wasn’t too bad splitting it amongst 4 people.
The room was pretty clean and the soaps where given for the stay was neutrogena so that was pretty nice even though we didn’t use it like that. The mirror in the bathroom was huge so it’s great for people who wanna do make up or gel their hair when they get ready.
Some negatives are that the front hotel host was a man who spoke to my friends and I in a very cold tone. He wasn’t welcome and was kind of rude when he gave us information. I remember him speaking to my friend about breakfast as though he was a child and reminding us about check out again as though we were children. Maybe it’s cause we are young adults and most of the people their were more middle age business workers or families, but since we already paid for the room we should be treated and spoken to guest not children. Second it is an hour away from LA and SD which were the two places friends and I traveling to. It is very desert looking once you get near the hotel so that makes the mood a little more sad. But all in all clean hotel, decent service, and comfortable beds.

Stained rugs. bathroom shower broken. hotel needs makeover cosmetically. staff friendly enough. No thanks.

Very beautiful area of California. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. We will definite be back.

Hotel was ok for a work trip. Loud ac unit built into the wall was disturbing a good nights rest each time it abruptly would crank on.
No free breakfast.
Staff was very courteous and helpful to point me to a local coffee spot.
If I come back I will try one of the other 2 hotels I can see.

Love love this place. Everyone and I mean everyone are so friendly. Check in and out is so easy. Rooms are great. This is our second time staying here and we will be back when we are in the area.

Great hotel, spent over a week there. Very friendly staff, clean room and good central location. The restaurant was a llittle disappointing compared to other Hiltons I have stayed at. Breakfast was good, dinner was not = sometimes would want dinner and they didn’t offer any specials and the dinner food was average.

From quick stop for breakfast or coffee to overnight stays the entire staff is wonderful. Facilities always clean, walking distance to Foothill Ranch along with open trails directly adjunct to the property leading to Starbucks, Stake Park and 2 gyms.
Swimming pool is sized for recreational activity only (no laps :)). Morning breakfast includes bar seating comforts of a diner which is extremely welcoming. No upcharge to Diamond Members for full service. Unable to print a zero cost tab for tipping so bring cash if you’re using your Diamond benefits.
In summary, never had an issue regardless of them knowing my status or just stopping in for coffee. True service. No problem giving them 5 stars and recommending them.

We came here based upon a groupon as a close to home getaway. This hotel experience is by far one of my best.
Every staff member was friendly and accomodating with a special mention for Sandi at the front desk and Julio in the restaurant who are examples of what owning a job is not just doing it.
This location is a hidden gem close to home. Well be back for sure.

Clean and fairly priced. Check in was fast and they have free parking, as well as free wifi. The decour in the room is a little out dated but nothing that would keep me away from staying here again. Overall, it was nice and quiet. A good stay.

I booked a room here for my children on their Thanksgiving visit. They were able to check-​in Early on Thanksgiving and given Breakfast! Huge bonus having outstanding care and concern for your guests. I would highly recommend this place to my family & friends! Great area and just off the 241 toll road, so easy travels in Orange County.

Was booked for a room with a king and they gave me one with a double. Not a huge deal but attention to detail is definitely not their thing there. The part that was most frustrating was the consistently cold showers in the morning. I’m not sure what’s wrong with the plumbing, but it seems it’s grossly inadequate. Wifi is incredibly slow, I’ve also seen worse (Marriott), but I’ve seen better (Prominence).
The décor is a bit dated but not outside of expectations. The staff is really nice as well. They have better food than most of the hotels in the area and since Lake Forest as a whole doesn’t have a lot of high end restaurants, that does help.
I would give this 3 stars if it was some local hotel but since it’s a Hilton you kind of expect a better experience. This place charges a bit more than the competition and yet delivers an experience that is at best, on par.

For the price I paid I thought it was a good spot. Was very clean but the restroom had s funky smell. Other than that it was a nice experience and a nice area. I would totally come back again

My family & I (5 of us) had to leave our home due to a power outage in our neighborhood-​it was over 90 degrees in the house & power was expected to be out all night. Called the hotel about 10:00 pm to see if they had two room available & explained the situation. The nice lady on the phone said she could accommodate us. The hotel is very nice– the staff was wonderful. The rooms are clean & the beds are comfortable. So happy we were able to find such a nice place so quickly. I would recommend this hotel to family & friends.

The staff is overall friendly and accommodating. I only wish the hotel room itself was up to par with the service. Good thing about this place is they have a microwave, fridge, free WiFi, and free parking.
On to the not so great stuff… The ac needs to be updated; it’s a loud and bulky unit. The carpet is dirty and the walls and ceiling is poorly insulated. The three nights I stayed here, I was able to hear the conversations, coughing, and sneezing of the guests next door. I was also awaken at 6 in the morning because of the upstairs guest walking around.
It’s a decent hotel, but don’t expect to get a good night’s sleep without some ear plugs.

Nice room — but stayed here for a swim meet because their site advertises a great breakfast and makes it seem like its included — but you check in and they tell you its $ 13 a person — AFTER — they tell you they know the website makes it look like its included and they’ve gotten multiple complaints about it.
Well I would have stayed closer to the pool at a hotel that came with breakfast — like we usually do — instead of driving past it to come here
What a waste

This is our 2^nd time staying at this hotel and the service is again outstanding. The guests are greeted with a smile, the rooms are clean, the service is constant throughout the stay.
The breakfast on-​site is pretty good and there is a good feeling of friendliness and service throughout the hotel.
If you are in the OC area, I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn.
