Bright Beginner

My son has been going to Ms B for almost two years now. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall and I am still more than happy with his progress and with his preschool experience. He loves Ms B and she played a huge role in his love of preschool. He has learned his 50 states, all continents, the solar system, cardinal points, his five senses, days, weeks, months, ordinal numbers, he can count over 100, knows his geometric shapes — not just the basic ones either, and she had taught his to memorize our phone number in case of an emergency. He can read the top 100 sight words and all BOB books for kindergartners. I know he will miss the friends he has made at Bright Beginner Preschool and Ms B. Thankfully our younger son will go to Ms B when he gets a little older, so our older son will be able to visit often. I highlighted recommend this school.

Bright beginner is the best child day care around oc area. Eugenia never has more than 6 kids every school year after enrollment. She has been running this at home daycare for years. The curriculum is a great way for every child to develop, grow, and build relationships with one another. Bright beginner not only does that academically but socially as well. They get a chance to interact with other kids their age doing many activities which prepares them for when they enter kindergarten. Mrs. B creates a very fun loving and learning environment for kids!

Ms. B is an amazing teacher and daycare provider. She is passionate about what she does, and it shows. She cultivates the children’s minds, and the results are apparent almost immediately.
My son started her program at 2.5 and has continued to flourish, since. I was proud that before he entered her school, he was able to sing the alphabet, count to 10, and recite the months of the year, in both English and Spanish. Shortly after starting her program his skills had expanded ten fold.
Her preschool program was the perfect fit for us. One of the key factors in choosing her program was the clean, warm home environment. Her home/​school is very welcoming and nicely set up to facilitate learning. It’s a very comfortable environment for the children to learn in. It also helped that she will never have more than 6 kids. In most schools there are 10 kids for every teacher, at times. She is also very organized and keeps you informed. The feedback we receive from Ms. B is not something you would be able to get at a more uniform preschool. It is very nice to be able to take learnings from her to apply at home, and vice versa. Her number one concern is the children, and my son loves her!

We have been so happy with the progress our little Bright Beginner has made since starting Ms. B’s class. The personalized attention he has received has been beyond noticeable.
Our 3 year has been attending class here since he was 2.5 and he can already write his name, count to 100, is learning about geography and so much more! We can’t say enough about how happy we have been with what he is learning and what a wonderful experience it has been to have our son attend Bright Beginner!

I cant say enough about Eugenia, she has been so wonderful, My daughter loves going to school everyday and she has a wonderful way of making the lessons fun.
My daughters spelling and geography have come to life, and is learning new songs about the states and ABCs everyday.
Eugenia makes all the kids who she has feel special and has such a great bond with them. She takes great pride in making it a fun learning environment, and also helping the kids reach there full learning potential.
This has been my first experience with a program like this. To call it a pre-​school or child care does not do it justice. Her program is far better than we could have hoped for. Eugenia has made this such a easy transition for my family and I and has done everything to ease our minds when leaving our child with someone. She is a great communicator and does send pictures and updates on your child for the first week or so. She truly has a great deal of love for her kids and it is so great to see that the kids reciprocate this to her.
I would absolutely recommend Eugenia to anyone looking to enroll their child into a program that encourages a great learning environment with care and a focuses on giving them a head start when they go into kindergarten.
We plan to keep our daughter with Eugenia till she graduates and heads off to Kindergarten.

My daughter has been at Bright Beginners Preschool for about 4 months. We like the small group setting, enabling more attention for each student from the teacher. We also like the cozy atmosphere that this at-​home preschool provides. The fact that Bright Beginners Preschool also provides breakfast and lunch is a bonus. We really like receiving up to date pictures from the teacher on what our child is doing, especially on special occasions like birthdays and holidays. Our daughter also demonstrates a great deal of learning since attending Bright Beginners Preschool. We really appreciate the teacher making special allowances to accommodate our schedule. We are happy with Bright Beginners Preschool.

On a scale of 1 – 5 I give Bright Beginners a 10!!! My son absolutely loves Eugenia and all of his friends at his school. He started going to Bright Beginner just after he turned 2 ½ and began singing the ABCs in the first week.
What enticed me to Bright Beginner was the welcoming feeling and the bright colors. All of the traditional preschools and daycares seemed so drab compared to Bright Beginners. I also liked that the cost is affordable and food and potty training is provided.
The first week of attending Bright Beginners, I was sent pictures of my son often and received phone calls to ensure he was okay after being dropped off. When something really good happened (such as going potty in the toilet) Eugenia and my son called to let me know right away.
Every day, my son has something fun and exciting to share with me. He has been learning so much and really looks up to Eugenia. She is a wonderful person and is great with the kids. It is a very homey and friendly atmosphere, with a strong educational involvement.
I feel Jodi’s review is a bit premature and unfair. As a parent, I appreciate the fact that Eugenia doesn’t have «strangers» coming into her center while other kids are there. I was able to view the facility during the week, just after the operating hours. Plus, if she is spending time showing around other people, how would she be able to watch the children? That is why it makes sense to me that she has people view the place after hours. Eugenia operates her daycare as efficiently and educationally as a preschool. In response to the concerns: Yes, she is the sole owner and operator, but she also has her two responsible, grown children assisting her at times who are great with the kids. My son is currently the youngest of the children, and Bright Beginners is worth waiting out the few months if you can; plus you don’t want your just two-​year-​old being knocked around by 3 and 4 year-​olds. The kids are great, but they are kids and a just barely turned 2 year-​old will get run over. Eugenia is very good at keeping an eye out for the safety of the children during play time and keeps them very engaged with activities.
I will continue to take my son to Bright Beginner as long as we live in the area and have recommended her to all of my friends with children.

So to start off my child is currenly not in the care of Bright Beginners this review is solely based upon my experience prior to enrollment.
I emailed Bright Beginners on a Tuesday hoping to arrange a visit on the Thursday. The owner and sole employee Eugenia let me know she doesnt allow visitors during the week and would like us to visit on Sunday. I figure fair enough since it is a home daycare center. I did however let her know that I would really like to see how she operates prior to enrolling my child.
So I did the first daycare visit bymyself without my husband. The house is a nice size and clean with quite a bit of actvities. The cost is relatively impressive as well in comparison to other centers but it is in someone’s home so I kinda expected it to be less expensive.
However, I feel I have a few legitimate concerns about this center.
1) The owner and sole employee is I would assume from looks over 55. This was a concern to me because she would be working with small children and if an emergency arises I wasnt sure how those things would be handled in terms of her own health. However she seems to be in relatively good health.
2) The website says she takes 2 year olds but she actually doesnt take kids under 2.5 years. This would have been nice to know in advance to visiting. I let her know my daughters age prior to the visit. I was only instructed of the age requirement once I came home after the visit and received an email… It would have been nice to have been given that info.
3)This Center does not allow you to test out the facility. I am use to centers letting you at least tour the location while they are actively engaged with the children. I understand since this is a home daycare the need to screen people before allowing them around children. However, I think it is really important for parents to get insight into how they operate daily to see if its a fit. I was even willing to pay for the time in order to see how my child interacted still no luck… I understand the reasoning but its still odd.
So besides the bulleted points I did not have the best feeling about it, I had my husband visit with me as well on a second occassion to see how he felt (the age was an issue to him), and after receiving the email after our visit in regards to the age requirement even though we were not told through our emails, phone calls and two visits that kind of sealed the deal in terms of this being a NO-​GO. This facility has only been open since September 2009
I would have rated it one star but I thought it would have been unfair. The facility is clean, cheap, and in a good neighborhood. It was not a fit for my family but It may be alright for someone else. My daughter is just to precious to me to deal with the uncertainties of this new center its not to say I wont consider it in the future once it is up and running but as of now 2 stars
