Just went through a very hot week and a/​c went dead. Called a couple places and they said they will be out in a week or more — are you kidding. A-​1 came out the next day and fixed the problem-​good job Scott.

These guys are AC superheros! Just had them resolve an issue last week and now they’re back at it again for a different issue, same day service. Dave took the time to explain the problem and was fair in pricing since I was a repeat customer. there’s no reason to reach out to anyone else for AC, heating, or plumbing!

Their service was amazing, not only did a technician call me immediately, but Mike talked me through a troubleshoot on wiring a new Wi-​Fi thermostat in and saved me the service call. This is the kind of service I would use again and recommend to everyone!

Outstanding response time and service! During this triple digit heat wave our AC went down! Endured the heat in our home yesterday. 96 degrees at night in the house! Attempted to schedule someone to come out today-​Tuesday. First company Heating Champions was booked through Friday but they were kind enough to recommend A-​1. I left a voice mail with A-​1 and called the next company on my list who could come out between 2 – 6 pm. Shortly after that, A-​1 called me back and said they come out during the same time frame. When I told them I already had someone coming out at the time frame he said he would call me back if he could get me a sooner time frame. That was at 11:41 am. By approximately 1:00 pm they were finishing up the repairs. I am now a very happy camper and sitting in cool air! Thank you Heating Champions for the referral. We had a great experience. Michael came out to service out thermostat and nest system which was malfunctioning. He is very competent, easy going and gets the job done efficiently. When we had questions after the fact, he was responsive to phone calls and text. I would highly recommend this company, but especially Michael.

I just want to quickly say that I hate tow truck drivers, mechanics, used car salesperson etc. I classify plumbers in this scumbag category as well. I’m sure you probably do too.
Our water heater finally committed suicide this past Tuesday (²⁄₁₈). Having two young children, something had to be done quickly.
My wife was doing her research on hot water heaters and to make a long story short, no matter how much research we both did on the topic, we’re pretty clueless when it comes to plumbing issues.
My wife decided to call someone and I wholehearted agreed because if I attempted to fix or replace our water heater, I’d probably cause more damage to our home.
My wife immediately called A-​1 at 9pm, she was prepared to leave a voice mail, however, to her surprise, someone picked up. The friendly person over the phone booked an appointment for us the next morning.
Shawn arrived on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and presented our options.
Me being the cheapskate that I am, I had a bit of an issue with the price he quoted us. However, he also presented other options to cut some of the cost down also, to me, that’s what inspired my confidence to use A-​1. He could have easily said, f-​it, I’m out of here (yes I’m that difficult) but stayed, made a call and mediated a somewhat fair deal to fix our emergency. Another plumber could have just abandoned us (scumbags). I’m also confident that another plumber probably would have quoted us double or triple for the work that had to be done.
Shawn did a stellar job of installing our new bradford white heater. He cleaned up after his work and we had hot water as soon as he left our driveway.
As I mentioned earlier, this was on a Tuesday. Today is Saturday and my wife and I detected a gas smell. We called Shawn and he was watching his child. It wasn’t an emergency but Shawn was at our house within the hour.
There was nothing wrong about his install but the heater itself is another story. He noticed that the tube on the water heater wasn’t properly tightened from the factory. After a few turns of the wrench, alls well that ends well.
To come out on a Saturday deserves to be put on speed dial. To be here within an hour on Saturday prompted me to write this review.
Thank you again, Shawn. I hope I won’t ever have to see you again but if I do, it won’t be so bad.

DISHONEST! TRIED TO RIP US OFF FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!
Our neighbor had been complaining about the noise coming from our central a/​c unit. Even though it runs perfectly fine, we decided to appease her and have it checked out to see what could be done.
A-​1 was the first company we called to come have a look. The «technician» stood about four feet away from the unit, and listened to it for about 15 seconds before «diagnosing» the problem.
He said the compressor was going bad and needed to be replaced. It would cost $ 2500 for the part plus a few hundred for labor.
After seeking a second and a third opinion, the other two companies agreed that there was nothing wrong with the compressor and the unit is operating as expected for a 6 year old a/​c. Simple tightening of some screws eliminated the noise and the problem was solved.
I also looked up the cost of the compressor that he had said would cost $ 2500 and found it on Sears Parts Direct for $ 1500 retail.
I strongly encourage looking somewhere else for HVAC work other than A-​1. I went with White Mechanical (Laguna Hills) and West Coast Energy Systems (Anaheim). Both companies were professional and honest in their evaluations which can’t be said for A-​1.

Use this company!!! During the cold snap our heater broke and they came out SAME DAY. Fixed it perfectly and great, great customer service. Highly recommend.

Scott did an excellent job. He came out on a Sunday about 30 minutes after I called A-​1 for only a very small weekend surcharge. He quickly figured out the problem and took the time to show me in detail what it was and how he knew for sure. The charge for the total service was less than I expected. I actually had an excellent experience and don’t have anything negative to say. I would definitely recommend Scott.
