Las Islas Marias

Been coming here for years and the empanadas de camaron are my FAVORITE ever! The green sauce it comes with is so savory. The pescado zarandeado is pretty good too. Tried some other food from there and it wasn’t great at all.
Only thing is I can’t remember a time we ever got good service here. We either have to wait on menus, or drinks, or our food that comes at different times regardless of everyone ordering together. If the service was better, we’d be there A LOT more often

My friend and I sat there for 10 minutes and no one came by to give us a menu. The server finally came and handed us the menus with a not so friendly facial expression. Next time I’m craving tostadas I’ll pay the extra bucks somewhere else.

Not gonna lie the food is good specially the langostinos and fish tostada, but the service sucks so bad. once i came in when it was empty and the girls took like 5 min to sit me down because they were talking, then after sitting down the girl gave me a bitchy face because the booth i wanted was dirty and she had to wipe it down. then after that not once did they ask if i was ok i just wanted a refill because i was hungover. i hated it so much i just bit my food once or twice threw my money on the table and left.

I ordered shrimp and fish tacos the fish were better. We were a group of 7 and the service was good. The empanadas were by far their specialty but the ceviche mixto is really good. Also we recommend the shrimp wraped in bacon. I would of given it 5 stars but there was a couple of fans hanging in the cealing that were extremely dusty. The place could use some cleaning and i also didnt like that while your eating alot of vendors walk in selling knicks and knacks. And they place things in your table while your eating. Very unprofessional. Over all this wont be my first choice in food but it is good and im down to come back. There is also banda that come in and play but their independent from the restaurant.

This place is pretty good! Prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. I just wish the service was a bit faster. Other than that, I will be back.

Worst service an hour wait for food no refills no chips and salsa Crap CRAP CRAP service don’t come here

Been at this Seafood Restaurant 3 or 4 times, that last time was un-​enjoyable. We ordered a few tostadas, & they were extremely salty, so at checkout i brought it up to the Manager, & he did not care, he just brought up i would get charged an extra dollar if i wanted to use a credit card, I’d figure he would say not to worry about that, but i ended up paying full price for the food.
Poor management, bad service, & salty food.

This is probably the best marisco place in Fontana! We ordered the shrimp empanadas, shrimp ceviche, camarones a la cucaracha (deep fried shrimp), & Micheladas for the table. It was great i loved their green lime salsa. Must admit tho the service is poor.

I came in just to have a Pacífico. A friend showed up we had a Molcajete I accually enjoyed it. Would definitely come back for another one

My taste buds are happy with the mixed fajita plate and the fish empanadas are awesome. I would eat here any day of the week.

Yuck… I went here for my first time… well first off I went with a party of 5, the waitress came asked us for our drinks… When she came back she forgot mine… she went back to get it and still forgot… She comes back to take our food order… I asked her for my drink she’s like «oh yea! sorry!» Takes order … no drink… friends order refills and I still have no drink so I flag down another waitress finally get a drink lol. I order a Coctel de Camaron same waitress forgets to put my order in?! (Maybe she just doesn’t like me…) anywhoo. I get my Coctel and all I taste is water and shrimp with cucumber. It was seriously gross the shrimps weren’t even clean! :(it was flavorless. I asked for shrimp tostadas and I notice that the shrimp are boiled not grilled made me believe they just use the same shrimp for the coctel! Anyways I didn’t eat anything… just had a drink (that I waited 30 minutes for). Let’s just say I won’t be coming back… Ever…

The Fish Tacos are the best In town! The portions are amazing, You need to check this place out. If you can’t make it to old Mexico to eat, then you need to stop by this place!

Best fried fish ever!!! Michelada are awesome! Clean place, staff is friendly and quick. Great place to enjoy really good seafood. Will def. Come back again.

While I was in Lodi I found this place and I thought it was the best Mariscos I ever had. When I told the server I live in the I. E she told me their was one in Fontana. I was so excited to have this place so close to my home. I could’nt wait to take my wife and share the great menu. All the Fontana one had in common with the Lodi location was the menu. Food was horrible and so was the service. What a let down.

I use to eat here all the time with my wife until she found not 1 but 3 flies in her food. Have not gone back since and never will. I warn everyone. Stay away from this place.

If I could give them no stars I would horrible service they took forever to take our order then they tell us there is no empanadas or anything fried cause they close the grill at 9 and then she said that something happened to the grill so it doesn’t work? Make up your mind girl! I asked if she knew what time the Islas On foothill closed she said idk a little later but we are slow so were closing a little earlier, um you time says 10pm why are you making your own hours! Lazy workers!’ if you want horrible service and people that don’t want to serve you then go here if not I suggest take your service else where. (Older lady short brown hair) and younger girl light skinned dark hair with horrible attitude be warned!

Was not really impressed. The food to me did not look appetizing but to each there own. So I sat and waited for my friends to eat. Ummm and they served things In styrofoam and they did not have real silverware. Plastic utensils. Also well we ere there a older man was putting up things while customers were eating. He should have waited till the store closed. But to each there own. I had better

Good place for drinks and sea food

My husband swears by this place, and believes it to be the best mariscos place in Fontana. I must say, I disagree COMPLETELY. It’s a typical hole-​in-​the-​wall place, so I don’t expect it to be very clean when I visit, which it is not. My husband’s favorite menu item: the Langostinos, are a plate of lobster tails sauteed in some sort of butter sauce. Way over-​seasoned if you ask me. My last visit here was on Friday evening with my husband, uncle, and father. You have to seat yourself, and wait for a waitress to bring you a menu. There were 3 waitresses to the entire restaurant (which at the time only had about 10 occupied tables) and yet their service was extremely slow.
The waitress brought us menus, chips & salsa, and took our drink orders. By the time she returned for our food order, our chips were out. My uncle asked her for another order of chips and I caught her ROLLING HER EYES! After our food was brought out, no one returned to check on us or our drinks. My husband had to get up TWICE and approach them for a refill. They also forgot my husband’s order of langostinos which he had to get up and ask for, as well. I ordered a hot shrimp cocktail and it was just average. The caldo (broth) was pretty flavorless, despite my attempt to revive it with ketchup.
I honestly would NEVER come to this place if it weren’t for the fact that my husband is such of fan of their food. I’m big on customer service, and this place has NONE. The food is just blah!, I am certain I can find better mariscos elsewhere, where I don’t have to subject myself to eye rolls.

One of the bast Agua Chiles (with callo) I’ve had. This raw shrimp and scallops (callo) that are pickled in fresh lemon juice and fresh serrano chiles. With the scallops, it’s $ 23 and with shrimp only $ 18. But the scallops are fresh here and I love them, I always get them.
The chips and salsa are very good, the service is great in English and Spanish, and the place is clean. Don’t expect any nice décor, that’s basic here but clean.
They sell beer buy the single or by the six pack that comes in a metal bucket of ice. I can’t wait to get back here to try more of their Mexican Seafood menu!
