Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts

My wife and I had a wedding reception at Thelma on June 20, 2015.
Thelma is a beautiful venue, with plenty of space. I worked primarily with Jessica and Jacqui during the selection of Thelma as a venue, and during the planning leading up to our day. Both were great to work with, quickly replying to emails and phone calls and making sure that details were accounted for.
We reserved the Fountain City Room, the Gallery, and the Café 1906 room. Since we weren’t planning to use the Café 1906 until the end of the evening, Thelma worked with us so that we would be able to pay hourly for 2 hours, rather than for the full day.
On the day of our event, there was some confusion about when we would have access to the building. Thelma employees were under the impression that we would not need the space, while my friends and family were briefly stuck outside of the doors attempting to help set up. Fortunately we were able to get in, and Thelma staff stuck around to make sure that we would have access for the remainder of the day. Thelma later apologized for the misunderstanding, however I did not feel that Thelma was eager to help resolve the issue on the day of the event. After some discussion, everything turned out fine and Thelma staff were helpful leading up to our reception. I believe Thelma is currently in the process of rewriting the contract they provide for such events due to this miscommunication.
Brendan was extremely helpful on the day of our event, asking us great questions early on to ensure the event went as smoothly as possible. The bartenders were quick and friendly, and make sure that we had everything of ours gathered as we were leaving.
Overall our experience was very good, and I would recommend Thelma if you are looking for a Venue in Fond du Lac.

* We had difficulty booking Fond du Lac hotels, as there were other events in the area. Be sure to reserve early on!

* Cake: Cakes While U Wait (Pewaukee)
* Hotel: Retlaw — worked well, but guests booking later weren’t able to get a room due to other events

We recently had our wedding reception at the Thelma, and it was fantastic! The staff, specifically Jacqui and Jennifer, were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable throughout the months of planning. The venue itself is completely gorgeous. Our guests were delighted as they strolled through the gallery and got to enjoy all the Thelma has to offer. Everything was stunning, and the day went without a single hiccup.
Even two weeks after the wedding, we’re still fielding calls, texts, and e-​mails from guests who keep gushing about the amazing time they had. The Thelma is part of that, and we are extremely happy with our experience. Yay Thelma!
