Love this store! Ive been shopping in old Folsom for over 20 years… One day I was wandering around, just having an awful life experience and ran into Pam, one of the owners of this store… Not only did she console me, she took the time to listen to me and my problems. I already loved this store but she made my shopping experience so much better! Thanks again Pam!

Love love love this little shop! Been wanting to try chalk paint so I finally went in to buy some. I thought I knew what I wanted but everything in the shop was so darn cute, it made it hard to choose my colors. Kim was so patient, knowledgeable and sweet. I never once felt pressured to buy more than what I needed. Visit this little shop, u will not be disappointed.

This shop always inspires me. They carry seasonal decorative pieces as well as some jewelry and chalk paint. Many of the items are quite affordable, and I always pick up some good display ideas when I’m there so I always make sure my phone’s charged so I can take a photo and I remember to look up because a lot of the cool stuff is hanging from the ceiling or on the walls. This Christmas a couple of my favorite items were the tiny jewel-colored bottle brush trees and some ivory-colored folding paper trees.

I was in Folsom this past weekend for lunch with family visiting out of town and I wandered in completely on a whim. I’ll be moving into a new apartment next month and have been on Pinterest like a madwoman checking out décor ideas for my 1-bedroom city oasis. This store has the most adorable AND affordable finds for adding a girly touch to any space. We’re talking seasonal decorations, candles, chalk paint, glass bowls, door knobs, and inspirational plaques. I walked out with a magnetic board designed to hold jewelry plus a few coordinating magnets. Price: $ 38 for the board plus about $ 10 for 2 magnets. Totally reasonable for my Anthropologie-taste on a Tarjay budget.

This antique shabby chic store is my favorite place to shop. The store had a great selection from garden items to pet items. Painted furniture throughout the store. If you don’t see something your looking for the store can help. The ladies there are very welcoming and friendly. They sell the Annie Sloan chalk paint and also teach classes had to use it. I would highly recommend visiting this fun store.

I have been working on a table I found at a thrift store for a week now. I was about to give up today, until I remembered that Not Too Shabby carried Annie Sloan Chalk paint. After doing a significant amount of research I decided to drive the whole 2 miles and check it out. Everyone in the store was so helpful. One of the women’s husbands happened to be there and helped as well. I walked out with fabulous paint, wax, and more knowledge than I know what to do with! Yes, the paint is super expensive, but from what I hear and from the little fun I had when I got home, it was well worth it. I would recommend this store to anyone needing assistance, ideas, or just a stroll!

I love little shabby chic antique shops and this one is great! They have cute furniture and accessories, but the best part is that they are the only place to get annie sloan chalk paint. It is very expensive and I was very skeptical! So I tried home depot chalk paint first. It worked good, but only came in black. My girlfriend was painting her built in cabinets in her home and we used the annie sloan and it was sooooo soooo worth it! It goes on so so easily and looks amazing! The dark wax gives it an antiqued look! It looks like she got all new expensive french cabinets. The gals there know their stuff too! They will teach you how to use it too. The owner is so sweet! Great shop ladies!

I loved visiting this shop and ended up buying a beautiful nightstand, It will be my inspiration piece when I redo my bedroom. I am on a tight budget and the price fit perfectly. I signed up for painting class and can’t wait to get some knowledge on how to bring back too life a few of my old sad looking pieces of furniture. Staff very friendly and helpfull. I have already shown off my new night stand and recommended the shop to a friend.

I just purchased a wonderful kitchen hutch from Bobby at her shop today — this is my first time shopping for a piece in Folsom and found her shop. It was a breath of fresh air — I was looking for exactly what she had and her personality and passion for her shop shows in every detail! She was very busy but able to make me feel like my purchase was very special to her and we all became a part of each others transactions. It was such a wonderful time — thank you Bobby! And thank you to your brother for providing some brawn and helping with loading our piece. You are truly a wonderful spirit!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!!! Woo hoooo!!! Just when I thought this shop couldn’t get any BETTER… Now the Not Too Shabby Shop carries Annie Slaon Chalk paint AND they offer cool classes on how to paint furniture with it. AMAZING. I was so impressed with this paint that comes from England. It’s addicting product! Great customer service, quality product & value is this store’s winning mix.

This is a beautiful store. I walked in looking to furnish our house with new furniture. There were so many things that I wanted to buy! Everything looks like they put so much time and love into the restoration of the pieces. I plan to be a regular customer. And did I mention that the owner, Bobbi, was extremely nice?! It was a pleasure to shop there.

Holy crap I felt like I just waked into my cousins house. This place is full of French country type furniture and accessories. The owner was very friendly and greeted us right away. Lots of great finds here if you’re looking for furniture.

This store is really cute! The lady who owns it is super nice and she makes a lot of her own stuff. She has a bunch of cool holiday stuff and really nice gifts. She was kind enough to sell me some buttons out of her personal stash.

One of my favorite gift shops in Folsom. This is where i go if I need to get a b-day or christmas gift for a woman. I’ve also gotten new baby gifts and house warming gift once. It’s not cheap, but there are a lot of price points. One thing they carry I can’t live without is the french grapefruit soap. lemon verbena also very good. $ 7 a bar, but I use it every day and its hard milled or whatever they call it, so it lasts for months in my shower. its my personal endulgence. another plus… its not the mall!

I wandered into Not Too Shabby because I thought it was an antique store. Hmmm… not quite. If you’re familiar with the«Paris Apartment» and«Shabby Chic» books you’ll recognize the aesthetic at Not Too Shabby. There’s also a definite Martha Stewart vibe going on here. The store fills two small rooms and the merchandise is a mix of vintage and reproduction items, including chandeliers, painted furniture and textiles. There are also girly potions and soaps and flowery stuff.(Not my thing at all, but it was tastefully displayed and the fragrances weren’t obnoxious.) I noticed a good selection of reproduction glass cabinet handles and knobs in a better variety of colors than I’ve ever found in a hardware store. I zeroed in on a basket of early 20th century snapshots, but to my dismay they were cut from a photo album. Chopped-up albums lose their narrative and historic value, and in this case the photos were extremely overpriced at $ 2.50 each. I think this was due to inexperience rather than greed, though. The owner was a sweet, talkative lady who told me she’d brought her two dogs to work because she was worried about leaving them at home in the heat. I give major props to any business that’s dog-friendly, so she won some points for this. Overall, Not Too Shabby is a cute little shop. It’s not icky-sweet in that porcelain-dolls-and-potpourri way, but it probably isn’t a place you should drag your man into. Leave him sitting on a bench outside while you peruse the girly stuff here.

I stumbled upon this place while walking around Historic Folsom in search of a restaurant. The name is cute and it drew me in, since I have a strange fascination with the shabby chic home décor look. I met Bobby Eddy, the owner of the shop, and she is very friendly and very passionate about her shop and her work. Her shop is medium-sized and packed with great looking refurbished vintage furniture that she calls Cottage Chic(a subset to Shabby.) She uses lots of whites and blues, some greens and you’ve also got your pinks. There are corner kitchen cupboards, mismatched nightstands with sky blue crystal knobs, bed frames and charming vintages desks that look dreamy in the office. Eddy, also teaches classes in découpage and if you have a furniture project that you are working on, she’s more than happy to talk to you about your ideas, which I thought was super cool. She helped me put together a vintage picture frame from a box of pictures that I had been carrying around for years. Great little place that sells some sweet treasures.
