These guys have been really great form day one! Friendly helpful and free delivery that day! I did end up exchanging my bed after 2 weeks because it turned out to be too soft for me. It was no problem what so ever. They handled it quickly and simply.

Is this«MANAGER» a joke? Two times in the past couple days, my fiancé and I visited the new Matthews Mattress store in Folsom, to purchase a new mattress set. Right off the bat, we noticed that the salesman didn’t bother to greet us, or look up whatsoever for that matter. We stood there, thinking he must be finishing something up. but got no acknowledgement at all until we flagged him down with a. «HELLO.(?)». Being that we were the only customers in the store, it seemed to be a bother for him to walk over and assist us. He divulged very little helpful information(aside from his pricing), gave us incorrect information steering us away from a brand he didn’t carry. — and we’re convinced the man is physically unable to smile. What gives? The longest sentence we got out of him was«People buy mattresses for two reasons: they truly need one, or they’re moving and don’t want to take the old one with them.» His«I could care less if you stay or leave» attitude continued throughout our visit. We reluctantly decided on a set, even though we’d been turned off by this guy to the point where we just wanted to go elsewhere. The whole car-salesman«right now only» discount tactic was thrown in our face, and we signed the papers to have the out-of-stock mattress delivered to us a week down the road, given it was finally back in stock at that time. Still, after leaving, it hadn’t set well with either of us. so we visited Sleep Train. And thank GOODNESS decent customer service exists THERE! We were so well educated on the different mattresses at Sleep Train, and(gasp) the salesman shook our hand and SMILED while pleasantly discussing the whole process with us. What a wonderful experience SLEEPTRAIN was, all around! In the end, SLEEPTRAIN got us a far better deal, on a grade better mattress no less, threw in one of their top pillows, and delivered it all the next day. We left feeling GREAT about the service we received and the product we’d just purchased with SLEEPTRAIN. Upon returning to Matthews Mattress for a refund and order cancellation, we dreaded even dealing with the individual who had helped us initially. Sure enough though, there he sat. We walked in the door(to the again empty showroom). no acknowledgement. Walked across the store toward him. no acknowledgement. «HELLO.(?)». He finally made half an attempt to look at us once we stood directly AT his desk. We apologized, that we’d purchased a different mattress elsewhere and needed to cancel our order. He broke his record 3-second eye contact with us and shuffled paperwork forever without a word, then asked for the card to refund to. Not a word otherwise. And we left. What a jackass. Sorry buddy, but you’re not the only gig in town. Not a thing about our experience with Matthews Mattress could make us recommend them, or this winner of a manager, to anyone. The MANAGER. You’ve gotta be kidding me! Perhaps he’s forgotten that good customer service SELLS. You can buy the same mattresses anywhere, and everyone is willing to match competitors pricing. So tell me, Mr. Manager, why in the world would we give our business to someone who hasn’t done a damn thing otherwise to earn it? BUB-BYE.
