Julie Wei-Shatzel, DO

Met with Dr. Julie today, because my normal PCP was not available. She was amazing. I have been dealing with an issue of Mercy Medical Group blocking care that I need, and she preemptively took up the good fight. She did more for my cause of getting the care I need than all the insurance reps, and referral agents I have talked to in the last 6 weeks. Her listening skills we outstanding, and she jumped right into a mess of a situation, and made sense of it in no time. Kudos to her. Thanks Dr. Julie for being that «human kindness» Mercy likes to say it has. I finally found it.

My Wife and I love Dr. Julie Wei-​Shatzel. Dr. Wei-​Shatzel very actively listens to us and directly addresses our concerns. I believe that she looks at the whole person when she prescribes treatment, and does not seek to merely cover up the symptoms of her patients. It is clear to me that Dr. Wei-​Shatzel is extremely passionate about medicine and I believe she is easily the most competent Dr. I’ve ever had.
The icing on the cake with Dr. Wei-​Shatzel is her personality. She is an honest-​to-​goodness nice person, one of the nicest people I have ever met. I know my wife would agree.
The Mercy Medical Group practice itself has also been very nice. The staff that I’ve spoken with have all been extremely courteous and friendly.

Dr Julie was very concerning and listened to all my many concerns with patience. I never felt rushed and she took detailed notes into the computer. She took everything into consideration and took some tests showing that I had low bpm, which usually isn’t a concern, but referred me to a cardiologist and neurologist to be sure. She showed a lot of care and will be my primary doctor from now on!

Dr. Julie Wei-​Shatzel is a calm, soft spoken health care professional, whom instills calm in my husband and I. We are facing a health crisis, and have found the caring person to help us pull it all together. We would highly recommend her to our family and friends.

Dr. Julie is a phenomenal doctor who is smart, well read on the latest medical advances, is a good listener and communicator and really cares about how you are feeling and how she can help you feel better. I feel so fortunate to have found her as my primary care provider!
Her staff is also excellent. I get copies of instructions and medical tests and it’s always easy to book an appointment. Can’t say enough good things about this!

Dr. Julie gave me the best care and help! when i was up there! I would wish she would relocate to SOCAL now. I highly recommend to anyone needing a intelligent, caring and friendly Dr!

I have recommended several friends and family members to see Dr. Wei-​Shatzel. We have followed her over the years to her new practice. She has always been very caring, thorough, and personable. I find these to be important qualities in a physician. She is also open to Integrative medicine and very open-​minded, nonjudgemental. I always run things by her as I trust her and value her medical opinion.

Not impressed 1^st visit she was more concerned with history. Mention tummy ache did not do a blood draw no exam just talked. Was more worried about scheduling second visit obviously for billing. Had she done exam and blood draw would have discovered I was in distress two days later I was hospitalized and had to have emergency gallbladder surgery. I was already planning on going elsewhere but that sealed the deal.
