I recently set-up an appointment for a relative, and the experience has been like something out of a bad sitcom. We accidentally missed a follow-up appointment, and sure enough, just like they warn, charged us a $ 225 cancellation fee. Don’t even think about trying to delay the payment or challenge it. These guys will take money out of your bank account without permission. They’re only in business to collect on missed appointments. I find it ironic to find out from others that if THEY cancel the appointment at the last minute(which apparently happens pretty often), they don’t pay for your wasted sick leave or try to accommodate YOU. As far as the care goes, I wasn’t impressed with that either. They are very heavy on scheduling appointments, which is really unrealistic if the patient works or is dependent on transportation from parents or relatives who work. The appointment we went to was a waste of time. The Dr. didn’t even decide on a diagnosis, but she did prescribe medication. When asked, «what do you think that she has?» Her answer was something along the line of, «I don’t know yet, but this medication may help her.» Seriously? I don’t have vast knowledge of psychiatry, but when I had post-partum depression, it only required one appointment to get the diagnosis. I’ve never heard of someone needing to go to the psychiatrist several times just to get a diagnosis.
