do not use this taxi service i highly recommend skyway. this taxi service is terrible. the dispatcher is very rude and was yelling at me he told me to «listen bitch» he called me a «dumb bitch» all different types of bitches is what i am apparently (i wasn’t aware that i was a female dog, i thought i was just a human being, but i clearly found out some interesting facts about myself). he overcharged me for the taxi ride it went from $ 38 to $ 65 (this incident happened on april 5^th). a couple of days prior to the other incident (on april 1^st) the taxi driver looked at me and made me pay my fair upfront. i am not happy not one bit, i am currently awaiting to hear from the tlc about these complaints.

Awfully rude and overall horrible customer service. If you’re about to call for this car service, please don’t even waste your time or your phone minutes. I called at 12:00pm and I told them to come asap and they said, it will take them 5 minutes to arrive. 12:15 came by, I called the car service again and someone said, they’re outside and hung up. I DID NOT SEE A CAR IN SIGHT! 12:25, I called and asked again and an extremely rude lady picked up and started arguing with me saying, give them a minute or 30 seconds and I told her, I called at 12pm and she had the right to lie and tell me, if you keep calling and rushing, she will cancel my car ride. Such a bitch! and the car arrived at 12:50pm. I waited 50 damn minutes for a freaking car… how awesome. Also, their car company is a 5 – 10 minute drive from my place. Please don’t even hesitate to call this car service. You’re better off with Lyft or Über.

I love jewel car service. I use them every time I need to call a taxi and have never had a bad experience with them. They are reliable, punctual and honest. In my experience, they have been consistently less expensive than über or lyft.

RUDE RUDE RUDE. Jewel cab service in right in my neighborhood and i have used them for years however, the DISPATCH LADY IS SO Rude. I’ve called and spoken to this same lady she is ALWAYS sooo rude I would rather walk than to have to speak with her.

I called this place because I needed a taxi after school; my car go towed ugh!
I first called to ask for the price between my locations before going to my last class. The man was very rude. Cutting me off mid-​sentence more than once. He wasn’t patient with me at all. I didn’t even finish the phone call, I just hung up and went to class.
I called 2 hours later and a new dispatcher greeted me. MUCH BETTER than the first one. I was told it was $ 14.
My cab (green NYC taxi) was here 10 minutes later.
The driver was such a joy to be with. I sat in the front seat, he was more than accommodating. I was so bunmed that my car got towed, he noticed that, so he started conversing with me and cracking jokes.
Even after that, he took $ 2 off my fair. Because of that gesture, I gave him a $ 5 tip. Thanks driver, I wish I got your name.

I’ve been calling this cab company for 5 years, the only person I’ve ever had an issue with is the dispatch lady. She is the most vile and rude human being ever. She cuts you off mid sentence tells you to shut up and hangs up the phone on you.
Way to go jewel, excellent customer service and professionalism.

Horrible service. Out of the handful of times I called, I only had one good experience.
Otherwise, they take too long and their drivers don’t know how to use the gps or decide not to.
Twice, I had to call back after waiting for half an hour when they said it would take 10 – 15 minutes to get to me.
The first time, I waited for almost an hour and a half because the dispatcher never informed the drivers. They kept telling me that it would just be 15 more minutes. The weather wasn’t even bad. It wasn’t raining, snowing, or anything so it wasn’t due to weather conditions at all.
Same with the second time but I decided to just walk because it wasn’t worth it.
Why am I going to spend money and waste my time on a cab service with ignorant drivers and dispatchers who forget to inform the drivers?
Another time, I told the guy where to go and we ended up in Jamaica which is far from where I asked to be dropped off. I even gave the guy directions but he was too busy talking on his phone. He got mad at me because I refused to tip. It’s not my fault you didn’t listen but too busy talking on the phone.
Don’t waste your time waiting for these people and most importantly, don’t waste your money on stupidity.

what happened jewel?!? i thought you were great! i guess not! lately everytime i ask for a taxi they never available and if they are, it will take from 20
to 30 mins to get there even if its close to their office! the attitude sucks in the operator again! the prices are incredible cheap! but hey! you get what you pay for and i really like to hear a happy smile on their faces when they talk to you!!!

they were ok. gave us a ride to and from our destination at a decent rate. livery cab and driver smelled like strong body odor though.

Beware of this car service, they will rip you off! A 25 minute trip cost me $ 51. Yes, you read that correctly, FIFTY-​ONE DOLLARS.
I had just finished my appointment at the eye doctor and was searching on my phone for a taxi to take me from Queens to the Bronx (20 minutes away), and despite the not so good rating here, decided that since others said it was cheap, I’d go ahead and call them.
My trip lasted a total of about 25 minutes (and only because we had to go over the Whitestone and the driver didn’t have ez-​pass, so we waited in line for about 5 minutes). It was one of those green cabs, and despite it being equipped with a meter, the guy didn’t seem to ever use it. The driver, unsure of what I should pay, contacted dispatch who told him the fare was $ 51!
It was such a rip-​off! I’ve never paid more than $ 25 to go from the Bronx to that same area, and for reference, taxis from my area in the Bronx to LaGuardia Airport (15 additional minutes away) cost no more than $ 35!
I would never use this car service again, even to travel within Queens, and would recommend others not use it as well.

Come on Jewel you can do better. This place could be so much better. Yes it is cheap which is awesome, but the drivers have no idea how to get to a specific address. If u wanna a ride to the subway, citi field, or the airport they can get you there no problem, but when you ask them to take you to a specific address they are clueless. Recently I was dropped off in the wrong part of Brooklyn. The driver insisted the address was right and started to yell at me when I called his dispatcher. We were 4 miles away and had to take another $ 20 ride to get to my friends house. What a pain. Also most of the cars are pretty old. I noticed a town car with over 600,000 miles on it and was shocked an American car could last that long. I think my grandfather used to have the exact same car and he has been dead for 15 years… 90% of the people are rude so it’s never a pleasant experience. All in all the place needs improvement.

My son needed to get to work today and I called a car service. 2 hours! I called Jewel and they were there in 5 minutes. Thank you Jewel.

These people are rude, liars and would scam you. I called the other day for a cab and the operator said 8 $. I was extremely happy until the driver asked for 16 $. That’s double! After a few minutes urging, he threaten me and told me that he will drop me off back at the place where he picked me up if i didn’t want to pay. Bullshit drivers and operators. And also their cabs are DIRTY and DOES NOT HAVE AC.

Cheap Car service, I take them to forest hills or kew gardens from Flushing and its less than $ 10. Sometimes you might get a fast driver but when I say to slow down they dont take offense.

Jewel is reliable with very good service. I have used Jewel multitudes of times and in my experience, theyve been say, 90% on time. Besides, I try not to rely on liveries when I’m in a pinch without booking extra buffer time.
Regarding the quality of cars, it varies: some are pretttty beat up Lincoln Towncars and others snazzy, fresh, pretty new ones.
But what does Jewel do to get that awesome and coveted Fourth star? (dont even ask me what it takes to get a Fifth star… maybe free booze in the back)

yes! theyre consistently the cheapest car service in Flushing. Cheaper than skyway, cheaper than 777, cheaper than… uh, i forgot the name of the other one, it starts with an M and is a spanish word… but gah! still cheaper than that one!
Frowner: I hate drivers constantly on their earpiece chatting it up with whoever. After traveling and experiencing drivers in other countries with snazzy white gloves, a professional drivers suit and constant vigilance to the customer and traffic… the New York norm of talkin’ cabbie driver just… *sigh* is a downer
Crowner: they have GPS! plus, some of the drivers are funny and fun to chat with. you’ll learn a lot! one of my drivers was a Pakistani man who lived in Hong Kong for 11 years!

These people are always late. The other day, it took them 40 minutes to arrive. 40 MINUTES?! I was so mad because they made me really late. I could’ve taken the bus and arrived at my destination in 40 minutes; what is the point of taking a cab then. I called the dispatcher 15 minutes after I had requested the cab and he said the car would be there in another few minutes. After it did not show up, of course, I called back about 4 – 5 times and no one picked up –_–
