Late December of 2015, my friend’s mother passed away. She was devastated with the loss of her mother, so I was present during the arrangement and the funeral.
The owner, Leon Jamie, was very kind, compassionate, and informative. This was the first time she ever lost a family member, and Mr. Jamie eased the process by guiding her step by step. He never pushed the family to get an expensive casket, nor did he have any intention to take advantage of the situation. He really was sincere, and made the family and friends comfortable; he made them feel like they had all the control in a situation where they’d feel like they have no control. Even the smallest decision that had to be made seemed overwhelming to my friend, and Mr. Jamie helped her make the right decisions so that her mother could have a dignified funeral.
Along with Mr. Jamie, the staff was very welcoming and attentive to guests during the wake and the funeral services.
With a loss of a loved one, choosing a funeral home with years of experience, reputation for good service, and a supportive environment among the staff are vital. Edward D. Jamie funeral home really made it possible for my friend to hold a beautiful service, and she was happy that her mother would’ve been pleased.
