Fantastic! We ordered 2 servings of the chicken + cabbage, and decided to go with all of the extras(ttuk, cheese, sweet potato, and fried rice after). We also ordered an order of a potato pancake. The potato pancake was meh — I was expecting something awesome like what’s served at Geo Si Gi(their potato pancake is AMAZING!), and so the limp smallish pancake was a disappointment. The chicken galbi was awesome! Dark meat chicken with a spicy sauce(but not that spicy) with cut up cabbage cooked up on the table. The banchans are a bit sparse, but we left really full. For 3 of us, it came out to $ 22 per person, which wasn’t that bad. Service was attentive, although I can’t imagine how only 2 ladies can handle a full restaurant! PS — be careful of splashing sauce when they’re cooking on the table. I got a sprinkling of sauce on my bag, which I didn’t really care about, but just a warning! They also offer takeout of the other entrees(just not the chicken that’s cooked table side, obviously).

Dakgalbi is such a treat and better with friends. Love the rice cakes and the ramen with cheese. Just when you think it’s over they add rice and make a fried rice for you with the leftovers.

Came here on a week night to get my dak kalbi fix, once a year kind of fix. I heard a lot of good things about this place and I can see why. Located in Broadway, there’s a decent amount of parking and the restaurant can probably sit 75 people. When my fiancée and I came here it was packed, but luckily got the last available table. The way you order here, you have to get at least 2 orders of a protein of your choice. We obviously ordered the dak galbi, which is chicken by the way, with a few side orders(sweet potato, cheese and rice cake, got the fried rice afterwards). Overall, price wise it’s fair — we spent $ 70 or $ 80 I forget, but that was because of the drinks. They bring out a bunch of cabbage and the meat(along with any sides), and throw it onto a stone grill where it cooks. The ban chan(side dish) selection is not much but you barely even need it. It consisted of pickled radish and jalapeño, kimchi and a very refreshing cold radish soup that cuts through quite nicely. Lastly, they put on what looks to be a semi-spicy red bean paste that really adds the full punch to the food. Onto the food! The dish is cooked very well, and tastes incredible. In the picture I posted, you see the finished product of the meal. The cabbage has just enough crunch to contrast the tenderness of the chicken. It’s very savory, but the sweet potato offsets it if you’re into that stuff(I’m usually not but it works here), providing a good balance. The rice cakes are just basted in everything and is just delicious. Lastly, the cheese tops it all off, providing extra flavor and texture. For the two of us, we could not finish the food. Not even close. But we still ordered 1 order of the fried rice, which is rice, bean sprouts, kimchi and I’m sure so sort of sesame oil, etc. it tastes even better. You have to leave some of your dish over and ask the waitresses to mix in the rice for you. Make sure you don’t finish your dak kalbi, and order the fried rice afterwards. We ended up taking everything home and ended up being a great lunch the next day. Overall, I think the price is very fair to the amount and quality of food your getting. Ambience is very typical of a Korean bbq feel — very friendly waitresses, old guys drinking soju and being rowdy, as well as all the foodies taking pictures for the gram. Maybe 5 is a bit aggressive here, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t get a 5. Great food, great price, great service, great ambience. Nothing to complain about. Check it out!

Pretty yum! They cook the meat right in front of you in this big grille. We had the chicken mix with squid and the portion was pretty large and came with cabbage as well. At the end, they pour some cheese on top. It was nicely flavored and delicious. At the end, they come and sautéed the rest of the dish with some rice and veggies and that kind of taste like bibimbap and delicious as well. The only thing is the side dishes were very limited and only 3 dishes of kimchi, picked radish, and fish cake Overall a good place and low carb friendly for those who do low carb diet!

I went there at 7pm on a Friday night and there was no wait for a table of 4. It was packed but I guess a table of 4 cleared up right before we got there. We ordered 3 servings of dak-galbi(chicken galbi) for the 4 of us. Food comes out fast cus they cook it right in front of you. It’s mild but you can make it as spicy as you want. Just tell your waitress. Add cheese! It melts perfectly and goes so well with the spicy goodness. If you like spicy I recommend you eat it with the jalapeño side dish that comes out with it. Adds the perfect crunch and cools down the hot chicken. After you’re done ask for however many bowls of rice you want mixed in the left over sauce. This is honestly the best part of the dinner. When you ask for the check they give you yakult!

For a party of 3 we ordered 2 servings. We thought it would be enough since we’ll be adding rice and noodles. Luckily it was the perfect amount and we all left full. The chicken has somewhat of a bland taste but the sauce they added made it more flavorful. They don’t have much side dishes here.

They very have simple menu, we order 2 dak galbi, because there is minimum 2 order to be able to cook at the table, they don’t have that much ban chan, only 3 or 4, the fish cake is pretty good, additional we order cheese, sweet potato and rice for extra money. There is 2 steps of cooking, 1st they sauteed the chicken, cabbage and sweet potato, when it’s cook through, they put the cheese on the top, it’s melting and ready to eat. I suggest to get the cheese, it’s just like pizza. It’s different experience, but the sauce it self is a little bit plain, taste less. 2nd step, they add the rice and sauteed it together with the chicken. Service is intensive.

Ive had dakgalbi soooo many times before and Ive got to say this place is definately in the top 5. The portions are really big and they must give you an entire cabbage with the chicken. Although it could get pricey with the add-ons, they are definately worth it! I alsmways get the sweet potato, rice cake, and cheese. They make such a big difference. Them after when you are almost about to explode from yummy fullness, ask them to stire fry the rice in the sauce. They ask if you want one or two rice, but go with one. When you do two rice, there isnt enought flavor. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They do all the work of stir frying so make sure you arent stingy on the tip! Also if the dakgalbi isnt spicy enough, you could ask for more spicy sauce.

After a trip to Korea this summer, where Dakkalbi was a staple, I was itching to find a place in the states that served it up. And here it is! Dak kalbi is consists of marinated chicken, cabbage, topokki(rice cakes), and potatoes. The mixture is all stirred up together in front of you with some gochujang(red chili paste). ANDDONTFORGETTOADDTHECHEESE! It all sounds so strange, but its a melting pot of delicious once you eat it. Then at the very end, they add rice to give you a completely different meal! It can be a bit daunting to come in here, not speaking korean, or just not knowing what to do, but the waitstaff is extremely friendly. Seriously a must try for anyone who is unfamiliar; korean food goes much further than just kbbq! TRYTRYTRY.

Dak is Korean for chicken(dont confuse with Duck, which is Ori in Korean…). So Dak Galbi is basically chicken bbq. We came here because wife was craving for authentic dak galbi, and we drove past this place a couple times. The restaurant is fairly clean with good ventilation and lightning. On Sunday evening 9pm place was full. Service was pretty attentive and polite despite a full restaurant. We ordered Bibim Makguksu and Dak Galbi x2(minimum two orders, each order 14.99). The banchans were minimal. The dishes of obligatory basics plus steamed egg. Steamed egg is pretty tasty but the rest were average at best. Dak galbi used only drumstick meat it seems, without any bone. They use a big stone plate heated by gas stove to cook the chicken mixed with generous amount of cabbage and their special spicy sauce. The result is very tender and flavorful pieces of chicken interlaced with slightly crispy cabbage. After enjoying the chicken/cabbage you could ask waitress to add some rice and seaweed to fry together to make chicken fried rice. Definitely worth a try. By the way they charge $ 2.00 for a small ball of white rice and only $ 3.00 for a bigger bowl of rice with seaweed AND fry it for you. You would be better off holding off your rice craving until fried rice. Makguksu is a cold, spicy noodle dish that is like a cross between Bibim naenmyeon(spicy cold noodle) and joi-myeon(hard noodle). Its fairly tasty but I think I prefer the thinner naenmyeon noodles. Pretty good dining experience. If you are a big fan of dak galbi definitely try this place out considering the lack of dak galbi specialized restaurant in NYC.

The dak galbi was sooooo good. I’ve had it at another place for cheaper, but these guys felt more clean and friendly. The server spoke to us in English(Konglish, but still good)) which was pretty cool, and we were able to make it «not spicy» for one of our friends. She gave us the extra spicy sauce on the side to dip our food into every now and then: D We went in as a group of four, ordered for three with extra udon and sweet potatoes, and had 2 rice mixed in afterwards.
