Came here with four people and see shared: (2) jjam jam myun(jjambong and jja jjamyun) tang su took(red meat) It was enough food for the four of us. As service they give you pan fried dumplings and dessert. The food was pretty good for east coast Chinese/Korean food.

a friend brought me here. hes korean and was very decided to come all the way here which took us over an hour after taking two different subway lines from start to end. he did the ordering and i just ate as much as i could. got to try some pan friend dumplings, a sweet pork dish and the jajangmyeon. being that this is much closer to LGA than anywhere else i usually stay when in new york i think that it would be a better idea to grab a meal here before or right after flying. some of the dishes were a bit pricey but most items on the menu are on the very affordable side.

The best. It is actually hard to find good korean-chinese restaurant even in korea, but i think i’ve found one here. Jjajangmyun and jjamppong was pretty good and tang soo yuk was crisp! All of their food tasted fresh and good. Big portion too!!!

The boyfriend was itching for some jajangmyeon so we decided to make the trek to Flushing based on the stellar reviews. I ordered 2 jajangmyeon and 1 pork tang-soo-yook(deep-fried sweet & sour pork, a must-have addition to the meal.) To keep it short: it was aiight. The boyfriend said he like the jajangmyeon, but wasn’t sure«if it’s because it’s actually good, or if it’s because I’m just really, really hungry.» It was also only his third time trying it, so I’ll say it like it is for him: I’ve had much, much, MUCH better. Yes, it might be cheap here, but I don’t know where these reviews saying it’s «the best» are coming from. I’m no noodle snob, but I’ve had regular jajangmyeon loaded with beef bits, onions, and the sauce was SUPER dark, almost black, and rich. Not here. Almost felt like they didn’t give me enough sauce :( I stand behind my Unilocal star rating: A-OK. It’s good, but definitely not the hour trek from Astoria to Flushing. 2 bowls of jajangmyeon($ 7 each) and 1 pork tang-soo-yook($ 18) came out to ~$ 34. I also forgot to mention(!!!) shit service. Our waitress completely poofed and was off talking to other women at a table and it was almost as if I was just sitting next to a gaggle of gossiping, middle-aged Korean housewives. Not servers in a restaurant. We were completely forgotten, waters never refilled, until we asked for the check. Those little sweet balls of corn dough at the end were ironically, my favorite part of the meal. MMMMMMMMmmmmMMM.

This is probably the best jjajjamyun and jjangpong house in all of queens. Parking may be tough, but it’s worth it. The jjajjangmyun is always amazing here and I would not go to another restaurant after this. They give these dessert things at the end. Idk what or how they make it, but it is really amazing. I really wish they can sell some of those desserts as well.

The jajangmyun is not as good as others say. The sweet and sour pork is really good. I got the half and half and it disappointed me. Will probably come back next time for the pork but not the noodles for sure.

Jjam ppong(spicy seafood noodle soup) and tang su yook(friend pork with fruity sauce) are the best. Even in Korea it’s hard to find better one than this restaurant. I tried Jjajangmyun and fried rice and they were both mediocre. But for jjamppong and tang su yook this place is everything ! Not a fancy place but food wise it’s great. Just don’t try friend rice and jja Jang myun.

i really like this place. My last visit was when they had their half off their entire menu event where proceeds went to charity. cheap food for a good cause? i’m in. I don’t think anything on their menu disappoints me. I really like the Gochu Jjamppong, jjajjangmyun, gochu japchae, kkampoong shrimp, and who could forget the tangsooyuk. Their little fried dough dessert is really good too!

Solid place to get ja jiang mien! It’s the first thing on the menu and if you haven’t tried it, you should. It’s very filling for the price so if you’re hungry, you can’t go wrong with this place! This is a Korean owned Resturant(ironic) but the quality of the food is superb. Definitely try this place out

This is the best jjajangmyun place I know of in Flushing. They have a small parking lot in the front for maybe three cars and parking is a little difficult on weekends. You don’t need to make a reservation. There’s almost never a wait. Get the half jjajangmyun half jambbong. It’s the best combination if you can’t make up your mind. Even if their main courses weren’t good, I’ll always come for their dessert balls. It’s fried dough balls filled with corn and a hardened sugar glaze. I don’t know what they are but they’re so good. I always ask for extra and they never refuse. Thank you Chinese House!

Chinese house, you would think Chinese house is owned by someone Chinese but think again, it’s Korean/Chinese but it doesn’t matter what their name is as long as their food is great! Chinese House is located in the Murray Hill area, the area is packed with awesome Korean food which means– it gets super busy at night and weekends! which also means if you are planning to drive, make sure to get there early or be prepare to circle around the block a few times for parking! at least it’s most residential area around there so free parking woohoo! Nine of us came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty empty, great! no wait. The place is clean and well organized and I guess all my friends had been to this place before so they all went for the JJA-JANGMYUN basically noodle with black soybean paste sauce along with onion and minced pork, it is different than the Chinese ones given this one is made with black soybean and the traditional Chinese one is made with regular soybean paste. and the Chinese ones doesn’t use onion neither but anyway… I of course had to be brave and try something different so I got the tang soo yook aka sweet and sour pork. Once my tang soo yook came out, I sort of regret my decision. I don’t know why I kept thinking Tang Soo Yook is like the sweet and sour pork from Chinese restaurants but it is totally different. Tang Soo Yook is actually drown in sauce, it’s a pretty thick brown sauce that’s made with some sort of corn starch which I’m not a fan of. The pork would have been crunchy and soft by itself but because of the sauce, it was soggy and not crispy no more… no good for me. HOWEVEROUTCOME the JJAJANGMYUN — the true star of the restaurant!!! I’m so used to the Chinese style of Zhajiangmian so I didn’t think this JJa Jang Myun was going to impress me but it really did. This JJAJangMyun, aside from being black is far less greasy than any of the Chinese ones I have tasted. it tasted clean from the start and the sauce ain’t heavy and make your stomach hurt. The noodle was delicious– perfectly al dente noodles, got good chewy texture so you have to chew and not swallow! The sauce is thick and sticks to the noodle very well so you get a very even bite every time– good sauce and noodle ratio! Even the onion is awesome, they cooked it down till it’s almost caramelize, while the onion still maintain their shape and texture. my only complaint here is the meat, it’s so fine and small that you can barely see it or taste it but I’ll forgive them because the sauce and noodle more than make up for it! Service: Great, water filled on a regular bases and everyone was friendly and food came out quick so everything looks good here! Price: Not bad! $ 8 bucks for a JJAJANGMYUN is definitely worth! I can’t say the same for the Tang Soo Yook tho Overall: Just get the JJAJANGMYUN, you’ll feel happy and satisfy, not that their other food is bad but just get the JJAJANGMYUN so you won’t feel like me and have to regret not getting the best item on the menu! JJAJANGMYUN, I WILLBEBACK!

Hand. Tossed. Noodles. No. MSG. NONE! Im not gonna lie, when I first moved out to New York, I hated this place. Nothing beats from Los Angeles… I’ve grown to appreciate this restaurant and fell in love when I was told the noodles are made right there in this restaurant. Yes… I peaked in! I shouldn’t have but I did while I was looking for the restroom(it’s in the hallway all the way in the back on the right side… I saw them cooking lol I love their lunch combos… I discovered it about 5 – 6 years of coming to this place. Their mushroom with rice is amazing! So is the mapa tofu… Oh screw the tofu. Get the mushroom with rice. It’s worth it!

tastes fresh and good — the only thing i didn’t like is that their lunch special comes with regular white rice and when i asked for fried rice they charged me extra. which is fine but other chinese/korean restaurants usually comes with friend rice. besides that the food is delicious!

Definitely my go to Jajangmyeon place! This place offers a big bowl of half jjam bbong and half Jajangmyeon for $ 10.99! It is definitely filling and most times I dont even finish the whole bowl! I’ve also tried the tangsooyook which is deep fried beef or pork and then placed in a sweet and sour sauce and it is realllly good! You can ask for the sauce on the side if you prefer that way. At the end of your meal you get a free dessert of a caramelized potato or corn dough which is reallly good! The only reason this place loses a star is because of the service. The women who work there don’t really speak english well so sometimes it is hard to understand them or ask them any questions. One time I went there, the lady gave me beef tangsooyook when I ordered pork and when I told her that, she kept insisting I keep the beef one even though I kept telling her my friend doesn’t like beef. She looked at me and said but we already gave away your dish, what will I do? I was so confused as to how she kept trying to push us to keep the dish as i kept telling her that my friend doesn’t like beef. Most establishments would apologize and make the correct dish but I literally had to argue with her for 5 minutes till she finally agreed to make the dish we ordered. Regardless of that incident, I can’t deny how good the food is so I will be back!

I love how this place is close to my sister’s. Been here 3 times and I love the spicy seafood noodle soup jjampong(?). The jajamian is alright. I like the instant Pado packages better. The portions are huge. Shared with 2 – 3 ppl with a bowl of each. Definitely want to try more dishes.

I’ve been going to Chinese House for a while now, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s alright. Since opening a second location further up on Northern Blvd, there is less of a crowd here, and I wonder if their main chef moved to the second location as well or if they decided to change some of their recipes. I’m not really a fan of their jajangmyun because it’s a little too sweet for my taste, but the jjambbong is the best here. I do think they’ve decreased the noodle portion size here, but I guess that’s their way of containing costs while not raising prices. Their lajoki(Chicken stir fry dish) has changed. It’s no longer the soft chicken shell, but more crispy with less sauce. I don’t think I’ll be getting lajoki here anymore. But their jjambbong is good. Their jajangmyun is alright if you like it on the sweeter side.

Not expensive at all for the portion you get. To the reviews that want authentic Chinese food. Even though the restaurants name is ‘Chinese House’, this isn’t authentic Chinese food. So please read other reviews and research what kind of food you’re looking for before going to a place and you don’t like it cause it doesn’t meet your expectation of authenticity(that’s why there’s Unilocal)… Anyway, my family and I usually come here often since it’s close to my Nonna’s house. Foods that I recommended, and are often ordered by us are Seafood Nurungji Tang, Jjam Ja Myun, and Tang Soo Yuk. For those that live fairly close by, I suggest walking to this restaurant because with all the surrounding restaurants, parking is a real B. Gave it an extra because I like the fried dough balls they give for dessert

The portions here are HUGE! A great bang for your buck! Their black bean noodles are delicious, as are their fried rice. Don’t forget to leave without their complementary dessert dough balls! Quick and courteous service.
