Too expensive. I go only when I am absolutely craving it or don’t have time to go elsewhere. There are some deals like buy one get one. More so their price point is a bit much. I paid $ 2.50 for a bite sized slider type ice cream. Their ice cream tastes good so that’s why they get the 3 stars instead of 2.

My dog loves soft serve cone and I usually take him to the McDonald drive thru. But on this day, i think it was July 4 holiday, the McDonald was closed. Weird, I know. Anyway, since I already said the word«ice cream» to my dog and he was expecting to get it, i didn’t want to disappoint by not delivering. So i drove further down to Carvel. I’ve always enjoyed Cavel’s soft serve as I find tney are more creamy and of superior quality. Upon entering this Carvel, right away, I smelled a funky odor inside this store which signals an unhygienic store and was a complete turnoff. The staff, looked like family run, mom or grandma, with dad, and kids, etc. They were hovering around the cashier small space while writting words on a cake for a customer. Very unhygienic in my opinion. Anyway, got the small cone. Didn’t get a stomache ache or anything but still… this store definately can use a professional scrub down and disinfecting.

Nice staff. Very friendly and helpful when you ask to add names and writing on a cake. The ice cream cakes are delicious. Though, I’ve noticed they are shrinking in size.

I was craving ice cream one day and walked into this Carvel. Unlike a lot of the other Carvels, I was immediately greeted by the employee who was on duty. He allowed me to taste some of their selections until I found the flavor I wanted. I would definitely recommend and come back again!

Great ice cream! Owner was very nice. I’ve been to a few other Carvels before, but this is one of the better ones.

selection is eh but i’ve been coming here forever. seen different owners. generally it’s perfectly fine, with decent hours. but damn it’s expensive! the younger cashiers are nice but it’s obvious mama’s the boss and mama’s strict. no discounts or bending the rules or extras. ever!(incidentally, mama also looks really sour, too.) hate to work for her… teeny lot. minimum for credit card(it’s probably $ 15)

This has to be the worst Carvel I have ever been to. The soft-serve was to warm and came out as mush. My ice cream cone was served upside down in a cup. A rip-off for $ 4. Oh and the girl serving the food had very long finger nails — a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Yuch.

Go to place for my ice cream cakes, the people are very friendly here, Michelle is always pleasant and did a great job on my sons birthday cake. The only drawback is the small parking lot. 5TO6 cars max parking.

Carvel is Carvel… if you are a fan, all you need is that the ice cream be fresh and the place be clean; which I always find it to be, so I am happy :) What is nice about this branch is that you can email an image to Michlle, the owner(who is actually very nice compared to some of the other Carvel branches like the one on Union and 164th St), and she’ll print it on a cake. I have had at least 5 done here already and the kids love them. Uploaded is our most recent cake. If you have younger children, it is really cool to take them with you to «choose» a cake from the freezer and watch their face when they come across a cake with their picture on it. The younger the kid, the funnier it gets…

so they have a special going on right now to celebrate Girls Scout 100 yr anniv. with ice cream defends fire $ 2.99 one of the employees gave a small size to a customer and I guess it was the manager who said«no it’s supposed to be a jr size». So she takes it to the back and scoops some out and gives to her, then gives it the other half to my sister. And when she was making mine, she touches her nose! ewww She wasn’t wearing any gloves… Also, I asked if I could get it without whip cream … she said she couldn’t honor the offer code if it’s altered.

They’ve got your standard stuff, cake batter ice cream, pistachio, root beer floats(made with Barq’s!), but what I really love about this location is that they offer green tea and red bean ice cream! I haven’t tried it yet, but it should be in the cooler closest to the cashier, along the left hand side of the store, tucked away in a corner. Service has always been super friendly too.

Located right on northern blvd with parking so it makes it convenient for ppl to buy their cakes and be on the way. My first impression of the place when i walked in was the customer service. There was an extremely friendly teenager who greeted us with a smile. He was very polite and helpful and when we couldn’t find the 6 inch cakes he actually came out from behind the counter to show us instead of just pointing a finger. The reason why they didn’t get a 5 is because they didn’t have any plates or forks. Just a bit inconvienced if we were going to eat the cake right away or outside, we had to make another pit stop for the utensils. Still very happy with the service and the cake tasted great

For years all I had to do was walk down a single block to get ice cream from what used to be my favorite frozen dessert company of all time. And I went through several stages as well; having not been here in awhile, hopefully they still have them so that this review is at least somewhat valid! The bonnet: Chocolate or vanilla ice cream enrobed in frozen dark chocolate, on a cone. Fabulous, though the chocolate was so snappy that it’d nearly shatter upon being bitten into! Butterscotch, strawberry, and chocolate pre-packaged sundaes: I adored butterscotch the best, and the vanilla ice cream was the soft serve. Ice cream sandwiches: Flying saucers I believe these were called? I always preferred the vanilla version, though both were irresistible when beginning to melt and soften; far better than any Klondike bar! The Famous Ice Cream Cake: Who hasn’t had this? A tuxedo-like interior of vanilla and chocolate surrounding a center of chocolate«crunchies» that added a perfect texture to the otherwise silky cake. A light, unobtrusive icing made it even better.

Oh Carvel… I love you… F Baskin Robbins– Carvel is where it’s at! My grandfather took me to this exact Carvel for the first time when I was around 5 and that is when I had my first taste of Rocky Road…19 years and 370lbs later – it’s me, my bed, a crane, and a tub of that crap! ok no… slight exaggeration but if I could have one indulgence for the rest of my life without any of the icky side effects – it would be Carvel ice cream… :sigh: Every year for my bday-I still get a custom made ice cream cake from them :) I am sad that the original owner left. my home location. :( Oh and those Carvel/Subway combo shops – HATETHEM. Who wants to smell garlic bread and cold cuts when you are in the mood for ice cream?! Not me my friends – not me…
