Great value for their lunch special sets, available even on weekends. But some of the kitchen items are a bit heavy on the msg. We prefer other spots for korean-​style sashimi because it’s a little overpriced here but find this to be a good lunch option. Service is bland, and tablespace is tight for a party of 4+.

This place gave my friend and I food poisoning. I have the hospital bill to prove it. I threw up 5 times and had a iv on me in the hospital, and also antibiotics

Good place for a big crowd of friends gathering, especially who like seafood.

Young beautiful waitress was so polite and nice to us. Food was super fresh and large portion for lunch. Much better deal than dinner. Best sushi I can find in flushing so far.

Every time I’ve been here we get the huge party courses that come with a lot of appetizers, sushi boats and soup at the end. The quality of the food is good but I wish the price was a little lower.

To be honest, it is not expensive for the amount of food it came with. However, there isn’t really anything special enough for me to want to come back.
I took pictures and it is a nice place to come as a ONE time event, but wouldn’t want to take another crew to come back.
Fish is fresh, side dishes were okay, mayo cheese corn were dry, grilled fish is yummy bit won’t give second with our 350 special…

I got the lunch special and it comes with so much food! Definitely worth the $ 20 price tag. The lunch special came with small udon noodle soup, squid salad (medium size), 8 pieces sashimi and a tempura platter. Everything was good. My only issue is the salmon and tuna were pretty thick. I would like it if they were cut in thinner pieces. Other than that I had a great dining experience. I would definitely return for dinner!

Everything was so fresh and delicious! All the side dishes, raw fish platter, sea food stew and dessert filled me up so much.

I always go to Sik Gaek, which is next door, but thought why not try this place. I did not know everything was on the pricier side. We ordered the fresh octopus, salmon plate and a uni bibimbap. Three of us were not full. The uni bibimbap was also not what we were expected, with less ingredient than we thought. Each paid $ 40 for it and I just thought it wasn’t worth it.

It’ expensive. no lie. but the food is delicious and all the platters of sashimi come with amazing sides like squid salad, spicy tuna, 2 types of grilled fish, steamed egg and a lot of other things. They also have an amazing soup at the end where they may add in some of the things on your sashimi platter into the soup. I was always come out of this place happy and so full.

Price is around 15 – 20 for each item and most of them come with tempura and California rolls and a seafood salad. Some also come with udon. It’s different for each item so ask before ordering.

Bada Story is located next door to their sister restaurant, Sik Gaek. The interior of the restaurant gives off a warm aura of a cabin lodge. They only offer a variety of set menus that specializes in Korean-​style sashimi.
Between the 6 of us, we opted for ‘Course Set C’ ($ 300) which included: whole fish, assorted sushi & sashimi, live octopus, sea urchin, shrimp tempura, and a lobster/​blackfish stew in addition to complimentary tuna rolls. The staff is extremely accommodating on swapping items out, so don’t be hesitant on this! As a Korean norm, you’ll begin your meal with plenty of complimentary side dishes in addition to your order. This included seafood salad, seafood pancake, steamed eggs, cheese corn, mussel soup, fried fluke, grilled whole fish, and sea cucumber/​sea squirt sashimi. They were all decent tasting except for the sea cucumber/​sea squirt sashimi. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. The slimy textural component in addition to the distastefulness was a bad way to begin our main course. All of the sashimi/​sushi was served a nice size but sadly it just tasted subpar. The quality was such a disappointment. The texture of the fish does not melt in mouth and tasted as if it had been through a long refrigeration and thawing process. I had never struggled so much to finish sushi. On the other hand, the live octopus was a fun experience.
Overall, Bada Story seems to have the mentality of ‘quantity over quality’. If that suites you, you’ll definitely enjoy this restaurant. However, I can’t say I’m a fan nor will I be returning here. I really wanted to like this place but it just turned out to be an overwhelming experience.

Fresh food and so much food. Ordered the sashimi boat for $ 199 was enough for 4 – 5 people. Came with a huge boat and side orders … Not your usual small dishes, but large side dishes. Come with an appetite !

I was so excited to try this place and really wanted to love it. I saved it for a special occasion where I would bring a big group so we could get a set. I ended up bringing my family (group of 6) to celebrate my mom’s bday. we ordered the sashimi boat set that’s supposed to feed 3 to 4 ppl because I knew from the reviews that they give a LOT of food and i know we don’t eat that much. it ended up being the perfect amount of food. service was great. the only reason I give it an average score of 3 scores is bc everything that was served didn’t blow me away. everything was just «ok» .
my favorite thing was the lobster sashimi although it was sad to see the top half of the dead lobster twitching around…

Very helpful service with numerous waiters so attentive in my needs. The food was delicious and price was reasonable for the food that I got. Had a great time with my girlfriend! Thanks =)

I’ve bookmarked this place since forever and didn’t come here until a coworker highly raved about it. I didn’t even know where this was. It’s right next door to Sik Gaek!
$ 99 for sashimi platter for 2. But it also comes with a seafood pancake and a thousand other banchans (side dishes).
It was packed but we got the last table (right by the door and window where people kept peeking in to watch me eat) — sashimi was so fresh and all the side dishes filled me up. There was also raw squid and sea cucumbers, some hot soup, another hot soup, steamed egg, etc etc.

I’ll give them 4 stars for the sheer amount of food. SOOO cheap -$ 100 for a platter for 2? At the same time, however, I expected a bit higher class of seafood after hearing about this place from an acquaintance — not the case. I know a lot of people complain about fluke — but the thing is, at least one of the most well-​known Korean ways of eating sushi is with fluke, wrapped in lettuce with miso sauce (just like how they eat bbq). In fact, next time, I’m just going to go straight for the fluke only platter. I thoroughly enjoyed the never ending courses and even the corn cheese and squid noodle salad.
I was a bit turned off after realizing that it was Shik Gaek’s seafood counterpart, as Shik Gaek is definitely subpar food. The sushi was fresh for the most part, and I did like how attentive the service was — there’s a service button if no one’s around, but it seems like at least one of them is running around in circles to see if anyone needs anything. There’s a downstairs area that I did not get to see but the number of patrons going downstairs was seamless.
MAKE A RESERVATION — some say that they don’t honor reservations? Ohhhh but they do. We were the last people to make it in without reservation at around 7 pm on a Friday night (before July 4^th). It was INSANELY packed. They have a wall littered with notes on reservations and seating arrangements.

My friends and I came here for a bday dinner and ordered the D combo for 6 but really I think it is for 8 people. There was just so much food!!! We didnt even finish everything

Sea cucumber? I tried to enjoy it. Its just not something I like. So my tip. Switch it out with something else just tell the waiter

Came here for dinner which a party of 4 on a saturday night. This place gets packed so either go early or make a reservation. It’s not a big place so it gets busy pretty quickly.
We got the Fluke platter for $ 180 and it was so much food! It’s more like a course dinner with side dishes coming after each round. All the sides were delicious and the fluke was very fresh. The only thing that was weak was the jigae (soup) at the end of the meal. It took about 30 minutes to make which definitely detracted from the experience.
It’s pretty expensive here but the food was great, the service for the most part attentive, and the décor very warm. It feels like you’re in a boat house in Korea, although, I’ve never been in a boat house in Korea.
I woudl give it a 4.5 stars but it’s pretty pricey, server gave us attitude, and the last dish took forever, so it rounds down to 4. With that said, I would come back again, because it was a great experience. Could be a pretty fun date place as well. FYI, they have valet parking next to Shigaek.

4.5 stars: Exceptionally unique sushi eating experience. Prices may seem very high at first but works out ok (30−40pp) if you come with 4 – 6 to your party. Group dining is a must!
Very fresh, very unique sashimi offering such as abalone, sweet shrimp, lobster, uni. The platters you get come with several courses of side dishes. You will be stuffed at the end! Absolutely loved the mussel soup, the whole fish cooked on stone slab was destroyed in minutes (that good), and the seafood soup at the end. Seafood soup at the end is essentially the same as the hot pot offered next door. They waste nothing here (you eat everything you paid for) so the decorative lobster on your boat platter is in your soup. Soo yum.
