Alan Nerenberg, MD

I took my wife to Dr Nerenberg for OCP prescriptions; she was able to get a same day appointment which was convenient; they were fairly welcoming; we had to fill out a questionnaire which seems to be fairly routine process at doctor’s offices these days. The wait time wasn’t too long; I’d say about 10 minutes. The nurse was a bit rushed in taking the vitals and doing her review which seems to be the norm in everything NYC so can’t really fault them too much. The doctor himself was very welcoming; he reviewed the questionnaire, made a couple of jokes and sent my wife on her way with her prescriptions.
All in all; a pretty decent clinic. One of the receptionists was a bit sharp tongued when we had a question about the refills; the reason why I took a star off. We are a young healthy couple and don’t really frequent doctor’s offices too much and we were unsure about how refills work; she was very abrupt and snappy; and did not answer our question; and did not try to take the time to understand what we were asking. Luckily the pharmacy we went to were able to explain to us in a decent amount of detail and with patience.
All in all, we will be going back as needed; hopefully that one receptionist was just having a bad day.

This is definitely one great doctor. I’ve been with him since the start of my pregnancy and he delivered her. This is coming up on 16 years. And still seeing him. His staff are also great caring people. This doctor should never retire.

I saw Dr. Nerenberg almost 10 years ago when I was in college. Now that I’m back in the area, I sought him again.
The staff is very friendly. Of course, there’s a bit of a wait. (I waited about 35 – 40 min).
Dr. Nerenberg is cordial; he asked me the routine questions prior and kept a casual conversation during the check-​up. The exam was comfortable and not rushed. He made some recommendations according to my questions and I’ve always felt like his explanations are thorough and informative.

Great Doctor. He is very professional and very straight forward. The girls that work in the office are all so nice. I’m very happy having him as my doctor. I have recommended him to others and they all agree. Finding a good doctor that makes you comfortable is not easy at all and I hate going to the doctor. Dr. Nerenberg makes his patients comfortable, so no dreading the day of your appointment.
