Holy shit it is really hot and cramped in this mother fucker. Not a good shopping experience. The cables I bought was old and overpriced. They put up their Back to School Sale banner way too early(in early August) and it offends me.

This place is good for when you are on a budget. We bought a plastic pitcher for $ 1.99. Carefully walk around. It is stuffed to the brim with things. Very carefully walk down the steep stairs to see some kitchen stuff. STUFFSTUFFSTUFF. You should take a look. CASHONLY

When you are living on a budget you have to get inventive. that’s when 99 cent stores are a lifesaver. I can always find everything I need here for a buck and change. 2 levels of items packed to the gills. Cheap household stuff, party stuff, gift supplies and even hardware. Being in flushing there is a scarcity of hardware stores and unless you want to trek over to home depot you are not going to find much. This place is usually very busy because they sell a very wide assortment of goods like kitchen supplies, school supplies and stationary. I come here periodically to check out their knitting and sewing stuff. They even sell clothing. this place was mobbed during the snowstorm and right before hurricane sandy. They were selling flashlights and batteries and end of the world supplies out the wazoo. Plus you really can’t argue with the price. its strange but i have heard the stock boy greet people here in korean and chinese. The staircase in the back left is where there is another level down. come here if you need to pick up something cheap or if you have time to kill. Unilocal 100 challenge: review #9

Place is right across the street from the Flushing library. Its always crowded midday. Stopped by here to get a notebook and other stationary items. You practically need a football helmet to get past the crowds at the cash register which you have to pass to get to the items. Not always easy to find stuff.

After I move, this was the closest discount store that wasn’t closed yet on a Sunday(it was past 9pm). Discount stores are useful. Sometimes, for a certain type of item, you don’t care about the quality. You just want it cheap and you want it now. This is where 99 cents stores come in. They aren’t even 99 cents actually anymore. Prices have risen to 1.29. But I’m glad that this store opens late. If you walk all the way to the back, there are stairs leading down with more kitchen related merchandise. I was able to pick up some cabinet liners and plastic disposable gloves. Definitely handy.
