This is one of my favorite places to go for sushi. You can choose to sit at the bar, dining room, or hibachi. Been coming here for a while and never had any problems.

We often order takeout sushi. Our order is usually correct with little confusion. Price is fair. When we have dined-in, the service has left more to be desired. Food is pretty good and location is convenient right at 985 and Spout Springs Rd.

Convenient strip mall location next to the Target, Home Depot and Pet Smart… I come here because it’s the closest place to get sushi to my home. If it wasn’t for this place I’d have to drive to the Mall of Georgia area about 20 minutes to the south. So I come here for convenience. It’s adequate… not great, won’t kill you, but adequate. The hibachi portion is probably a little better than the sushi bar side, because… well… they’re cooking stuff. Sushi, as you know is all about freshness, artful presentation, rice texture(stickiness and size) and all of that is meh here. They do a nice baby octopus nigiri here, so try that and their seaweed salad is good too. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll satisfy the urge, but if you have the time and the gas drive south. You can get top of the line sushi experience in that area at Niko Niko(highly recommend).

Shogun has a surprising good sushi bar even though I’m partial to my sushi chef and a nice sushi area to sit in that is not hibachi. I like hibachi but more for the food now and not the show but this gives you both Good service, usually good chefs all around so I get sashimi, then order a filet hibachi in the sushi bar so I don’t go to a table. Some of the servers have been here a while so good to see old faces meaning little turnover. Good of me!!! Will update review when I bring more people and get their take but pleasantly pleased with what I had and will be back to challenge the sushi palate and gain the respect of the chef. Wasn’t as busy as I’ve seen so not sure how consistent as I just don’t stop here a lot but time I did just based on location. I would recommend you give it try! I don’t read reviews that only focus on the $$ so for me, got what I paid for and quite happy.

I have had fresh salmon here weekly for the past few years… always fresh and perfectly presented by the outstanding sushi chef. Spider roll and specialty rolls are very good. Calamari is very good with two sauces. Tempura appetizer is very good and a bargain. Miso soup is as good as high end places. Service on the sushi side is always quick and friendly.

Took my 5 year old niece here for the first time. She loved it and we were able to Share a meal. Staff was nice and helpful and our food was cooked pretty quickly and right in front of us

We came in for dinner for the first time in a while and boy has this place changed… And not in the good way… The tall skinny chef with glasses was completely annoyed by the fact that I was allergic to shrimp and wanted it kept a safe distance from my food…(in the millions of time we have been there, it had never been this big of an issue and there was another woman with a different family, at the same table, that had the same issue). «Sorry to annoy you sir but I am a paying customer and you could cause me to go into anaphylatic shock». Food was just blah after the attitude… Doubt we will be back… KIKU is just down the street anyway… We will take our business there instead.

This is my go to spot for lunch when craving Japanese food. The sushi chefs are expert at their craft. The food arrives fresh and hot and well prepared. I never tried the hibachi side because I stick to the«chicken box». This is a ton of food offering a wide selection for a very reasonable price. The sushi that comes with the lunch box is tame so do the table a favor and order something«crunchy» from the sushi menu to share as an appetizer and everyone will thank you. The tempura that’s comes with the lunch box is usually perfect but I have had 1 that was sub par, but that was out of a dozen services. The service can be a bit frosty sometimes, but I’ve found it always efficient and great for some laughs at the table if your company is up for the game.

It was okay. Came for dinner Sunday evening. The fish was too fishy. Our party got steak, fish, and chicken combos. Steak and chicken were good. The meals were already pricey then they charge an extra 1.50 for rice for some reason. They gave sherbet ice cream for dessert that was decent. Chef was great, service was slower than average. It was overall okay. $ 40 for two people…

Only had hibachi, not a sushi person. Recently went for the weekend lunch. Service is a little slow at first, but they try to seat you, give soup and salad, and wait for other people to join your table before the chef comes out. The yum yum sauce is the best, the show is entertaining and the portions are decent.

I have really tried to like this place as its close to my house. Every time I go here the staff is horrific! They are rude and slow. I don’t get it? I am a nice person trying to give them my money and they treat me as if I am a great In connivence. I will never be back!

I have been to this location several times and have seen the service and quality go downhill. This time I sat in the dining area where we had horrible service. The server only came by twice: once to take our order and the other time to deliver our food. Has she stopped by again, we could have told her we needed drink refills and we were missing a part of our order. The dining room was not that busy so I just assume she was being lazy. The food is mediocre at best and definitely overpriced for the quality. Save your money and take a drive to Suwanne or Johns Creek for a more authentic Japanese experience.

We tried this place from a recommendation and found it to be lacking in many ways. It was a Friday evening, the place was not too busy but the service was slow to get seated. We looked over the sushi menu with small selection and pricey rolls and pieces. The flavor was fair some pieces seemed overly fishy in smell and didn’t eat them. The stir fry may be good but I think I will pass on this restaurant from now on.

We love this place. We are HUGE fans of Wasabi, and we don’t really go anywhere else, but if we do, it’s Shogun.

Came here for a birthday lunch and was COMPLETELY disappointed. I’ve been here once before and I see that there is a huge inconsistency in the quality and portion of their food. I got the chicken teriyaki lunch box, since it was pretty good the last time I had gotten it, but I was severely disappointed. They gave an embarrassing amount of watered down chicken teriyaki on top of a large bed of shredded lettuce. Half of the fried rice was purely onion bits and the sushi breaks apart as soon as it meets with any soy sauce. I didn’t care too much for the other items that came in the lunch box. Too bad. Oh and they don’t do anything for birthdays during lunchtime, only dinner. I believe you get a free dinner(with purchase of another dinner) if you come on the exact day of your birthday, with proof of ID or something.

The service is slow, it’s overpriced, and the food is ok. If you come here, sit at the Sushi Bar. At least the Sushi is decent.

I ate here back in June and wasn’t a fan but upon returning and actually getting to sit at a hibachi table, my feelings about this place changed for the better. The boyfriend, kid & I went here on a Friday night and waited maybe 3 – 4 minutes. The service was slow when getting our drinks, but nothing to really bitch about. My 8 year old son loved the whole show and the good was damn good. It was $ 97 for 3 of us and that included sake and several Crown & Cokes.

A clean and comfortable, reliable Japanese steakhouse. The hibachi always entertains the kids although it gets old for the adults after about the 4th or 5th time. We’ve been here numerous times(10+). Portion sizes are somewhat small for the meat and shrimp/scallops. This is more than made up for by enormous portions of rice and fried vegetables. We usually eat at the hibachi to appease the kids but my wife and I have eaten at the non-hibachi side and have enjoyed eating off the regular menu. I have not tried the sushi but have heard that it is quite good. My only real knock on this place is that the children’s hibachi meal is very expensive. Total for two adults and two kids, with standard tip, comes in around $ 100.00.
