This place is incredible. We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Can’t wait to bring my father here from New York!

Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Etc etc! Came to this location after an early afternoon appt and I was well taken care of. Get the oyster nachos as an app(only $ 6 on Wednesdays), and order the fish tacos for your entrée and you can thank me later! The fish tacos are big enough to probably feed 2(I’ve never been able to finish it myself and I can e-a-t!) ask for some lemon on the side and sprinkle it on top of your rice pilaf. So good.

Awesome staff! Before coming to the restaurant. The manager, who wasn’t working, quickly responded with the answer. I was impressed before we even arrived. Our server, Savanna, was Awesome with a Capital A. Her suugestions were spot on. The Chef, Orlando, came by the table and brought samples of soups and oyster nachos. We had a great meal and a great time!

This place is better than the review. We were greeted quickly, very friendly. The place is small, quite and service is amazing. Everyone was very helpful. The fish was very fresh. I had the trout, with veggies. It was so good. Also, had salmon, again, very good. We will be back.

We went on a Sunday night and there was a moderate crowd — but seated quickly and promptly served. We have several favorites on the menu(e.g., fish tacos) but decided to try something new. The crab cakes were tasty and not too heavy. Definitely try the shrimp and grits — amazing! Be sure to save room for the beignets!!!

Awesome Lunch… sat at the bar with Jason, and he took care of me. He suggested a nice IPA and a cup of gumbo to go with my shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious. Place was clean, staff friendly, food amazing… what more could one ask for? Go, and enjoy.

Upon learning this was our first time here, the staff rolled out the welcome wagon with samples of some of their signature items. Being from Louisiana, I have had a hard time finding seafood in Texas to really satisfy me the way it does back home. This place hit the spot. Their selling point is their scratch kitchen. It is clear by the taste of the fried catfish and oysters they are not lying. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. We will be back.

Just went to Fish City Grill today for the first time and had lunch. We ordered the calamari appetizer. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the fish and chips. The food came out quickly, was hot, fresh, and delicious. The breading on the fish and chips was lighter in texture and well prepared. The shrimp and grits was delicious. The calamari was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. We indulged all the way through dessert, me with the beignets and their brownie dessert. Absolutely delicious. The beignets were so light and airy, yet very flavorful. We did not have a wait and our server, Jason, was very attentive. I cannot wait to go back!

Since it was our first visit they provided us with a sample of soups and oyster nachos, which all around were great. We ordered the crawfish half and half and the rainbow trout special for the day. They served us a generous sized portion of the trout and it was overall we liked it. The crawfish half and half was too salty and not that great. My biggest disappointment was when we received the bill. We had an appetizer, dinner and a few beers and our bill was almost $ 100. The food was good, but not $ 100 good, especially when there was only two of us. I would probably give it four stars had it not been for the prices.

I’m revoking my 4 star review. I haven’t been to Fish City Grill since the summer because of the oysters. The service and rest of the food is still good but I feel that they’ve been dishonest about the oysters. I always get the Blue Points oysters so I’m very familiar with their taste, texture, and size. Even though Gulfs oysters are bigger, they’re lacking in taste and texture. That’s why you have to use lots of cocktail sauce with the Gulfs but just lemon with the Blue Points. On my last 3 visits, I got the Gulfs even though I ordered the Blue Points. Most people can remember when they’ve had a food they don’t like. They’ll know why they don’t like a certain food. I knew immediately that those were Gulfs from the taste and texture because I hate it. The 1st time, I told the server. The server says that it was breeding season for the oysters so they’re bigger. I thought it was a load because they tasted exactly like Gulfs. 2nd time, I told the manager and she insisted they were Blue Points. I just let it go. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t mating season anymore but the oysters were still huge and tasteless. 3rd time, I didn’t bother to complain. I just looked up Blue Points and Gulfs oysters online. Fish City Grill’s «Blue Points» seem to be Gulfs. Nuff said. I arrive at these possible conclusions. 1. Fish City Grill is scamming me. I paid more for Blue Points but got the cheaper Gulfs. 2. Fish City Grill’s vendors are scamming them. 3. The kitchen and the managers can’t tell the difference between Blue Points and Gulfs. They got their stock mixed up but can’t tell them apart. 4. Some other factor I can’t fathom. I always like to get Blue Points or other cold water oysters when I go get seafood. Looks like I’m going to Rockfish now. Pity because I love the food and service at Fish City Grill. Won’t RTE for a while. I may give them one last try once I get over my disappointment.

Love the fish tacos. Several times a month, my husband and I order them to go. We get grilled tilapia. My kids like the fried shrimp. The coconut shrimp is really good too. Oyster nachos are amazing… I don’t even like oysters! The atmosphere is good– fun yet not too noisy.

I was recommended this place by my girlfriend’s parents saying that their fish/shrimp tacos were to die for, but since Monday night was my last night in Texas, I thought I’d have my very last meat entrée before I head back to California — I ordered the Andouille Chicken on the red beans and rice, and I feel like I’m actually in New Orleans with the Creole/Cajun flavorings hovering inside my mouth. The portion was pretty big, but I was able to wolf it down til the plate was empty. The sausage was crisp, not chewy, and the chicken(breast) didn’t taste that dry. For three entrees plus drinks, tax, and tip, $ 50 for three people isn’t actually that bad for such big portions like this.

Fish tacos, oyster nachos, shrimp ‘n grits, fresh fish specials all highlight the menu for Fish City Grill. The shrimp tacos are also really good and the margaritas are excellent. Friendly staff and plenty of parking. Sean what’s been best waiter so far though ALL have been super attentive. We are hooked! (Shrimp Nachos were soooo good if it’s still available when you go– highly recommend)

Super cute! Great food. Venue This place is in a strip mall off 2499. You walk in and are immediately drawn into the concept. A southern inspired creole type fish house. The place was super clean and the general vibe was excellent. A great concept nicely executed! Food OYSTERNACHOS: Fried oyster, chipotle tartar sauce, fresh pico de gallo. Love ‘em, or we’ll buy ‘em. My Take: Delicious cooked to perfection! A great way to start off our meal. FISHCITYSANDWICH Fresh tilapia filet grilled, blackened or fried, wheat bun, remoulade, lettuce, tomato & onion. My Take: Delicious cooked to perfection! Generous portion of fish. Service Perfect. No complaints. We were asked several times how things were and if anything could be done to make our stay more enjoyable. Conclusion Yum. Good Service. Good Food. Decent value.

I finally found a restaurant in my neighborhood to cure my seafood fix. Came here one afternoon for dinner and was impressed by how fresh and great their seafood tasted. Sometimes ordering fish can either be really great or a complete miss. I tried over three dishes with fish: the hush puppies(Delicious!), fish tacos(big and filling!), and the fish and chips. All three were very satisfying and worth every calorie consumed! If you get a chance be sure to give Fish City Grill a try! You will not be disappointed!

Fish City Grill is the sister restaurant of Half Shells. Having been to Half Shells we knew what to expect in terms of menu items. The restaurant is small, located in a strip center. We sat at the bar and service was attentive and prompt. Our glasses were never empty. We had a dozen of the chargrilled oysters and half dozen rockefeller style. The oysters were fresh and tasty. Good neighborhood spot to check out.
