Worst lawyers I’ve met in Texas. In October I went to see them off of a recommendation for an simple uncontested divorce. They sped through my $ 5000 retainer, racked up $ 4500 more in busywork, and then proceeded to tell me that if I didn’t pay the $ 4500 plus another $ 1500 retainer they wouldn’t continue my case (meaning, they were holding my divorce for ransom). When I questioned the amount they said they would take $ 500 off. Oh wow. When I said I would not be paying that, Chad Elsey (who is twice my size) called me a bully and said I ‘forced’ his staff to talk to my mom. (?) He initially said he was representing me, but then did a sort of bait and switch where I ended up working with a lady — leading me to believe she was a paralegal — not knowing she was a lawyer charging me exorbitant rates to read emails. I did all the research and provided all the documentation. The case never went to court. Yet E&E kept dragging their feet, revising paperwork for me to go over and requesting documents already provided in order to charge me more. It’s April, I’m still not divorced. E&E will tell you lies just so they can bleed you dry. Once again, I do not recommend them.
