Great Pasta Fazool, large tasty salads. an establishment not too bad overall other than some of the inexperienced servers, but that’s pretty much everywhere in the burbs. Of the few Italian restaurants along this stretch, the food is above average. News was that the wife of Roberto’s Trattoria(gone since January) started a management job here but was very short lived. Word traveled that she was either not that good taking on the large place at Scoogi’s versus the broom closet sized Roberto’s, so she left. I remember her and her husband drinking at the bar nearly every single night down at Roberto’s where it was sad to see that they both called it quits just shy of one decade. Apparently they had high turnover of staff with only one server at the very end working an entire dining room himself with no bus boy, a crisis for weeks on end with dishwashers that quit and back of the house which was a revolving door. Needless to say, their food rivaled Scoogi’s, but since they are history, all of us Erdenheimians and Flourtownians can still have decent pasta and pizza at Scoogi’s. Let’s hope this one don’t fold up in time. These joints are here today and gone tomorrow. It’s amazing.

We came to this place while waiting for a tire to be fixed. It was the only place within walking distance and it was lunch time. This seems like one of those places that needs to be on some restaurant redo show where they walk in and just gut the place. Very out dated from the décor to the uniforms worn by the rude staff. Our waitress seemed very uninterested in our presence at her table and seemed like she couldn’t wait to go back to whatever she was doing before we got there. Not even sure if we saw a smile. We order our food, nothing light or kid friendly available. Food was so so, not something to write home about or to put on our revisit list. Food was so heavy that it seemed like more of a dinner only menu. No lunch menu available so our bill was around $ 50FORLUNCH… and not that great of food. I make better pasta at home. So in a nutshell, if you have kids NOPE, of your looking for a light Italian lunch menu NOPE, if u want a deal for a good lunch NOPE, if you want good service(esp for the price ur bill is gonna be) NOPE… Want to sit in a dark space surrounded by out of date décor YEP, enjoy being mistreated by wait staff YEP, find mediocre food and menu a highlight of your day YEP, THENTHISISTHEPLACEFOR U!

Let me start by saying this is my first Unilocal review ever. I also work at two high-end restaurants in the area and this would never occur. Dined here for Mother’s Day brunch and my family had a 1:00 reservation for 4. At about 9:30 that morning, I found out I was able to join my family for brunch and we called the restaurant asking if we could change our reservation to a party of 5. The hostess told us that they may not be able to get us a table for 5, but we could add a chair to our table. We called last minute on a busy day, figured if we had to squeeze in at a table, that’s fine. It was our problem. My family and I were seated in a corner banquette(split booth). Our server tried to accommodate us by asking her manager if we could be moved to an empty table. Manager told her no. I sat on the end, with hardly any table space and had to have my body turned the whole time to eat/drink. Once again, it’s a busy day and we changed our party size last minute, our problem. However, as tables got up to leave and staff cleared and reset the tables around us, we watched as those tables sat empty and were not turned. About half way through our meal, about 75% of this restaurant was empty. No one asked us if we wanted to move, no managers checked in on us, and there was no real effort made to accommodate us. Someone could have offered us a table and given us a timeframe of when they needed us to leave. Instead, we got nothing. Also, we checked in on time, 1:00, for our reservation. We were not seated until about 1:30. By 2:30, the server was hovering over us to pay. A one hour turn for 5 people is unacceptable, ESPECIALLYSINCETHESETABLESWERENOLONGERBEINGTURNEDFORBRUNCH. I get it, you had dinner at 3, but c’mon– what did you expect to happen when you end brunch at «1:30»? Unfortunately, I will not be back.

It sure would be nice if somebody walked to the end of the bar to offer me a menu. Been here for 20 min and nothing

Not a big fan. It’s overpriced and the food and service are lacking. The only positive is that the bar is OK and the bartenders are nice. I’m local to Flourtown, and unfortunately there aren’t many options in the area. I think that is why they’re able to remain in business. Every time I go I always swear I won’t go back. But I end up going back every few months to do something different. And each time I do, I end up regretting it.

Once our drinks were served after about 30 mins we thought we should leave but didn’t… big mistake, huge! They party next to us was noisy. In a completely empty restaurant being sat next to the only noisy party is a disgrace… but not as much as rushing us out and cleaning up the entire restaurant while we were eating. What an uncomfortable place to be with mediocre food at best. Never again.

Shepherds Pie and Guinness Stew for St Pats takeout– delicious! It was ready quickly and we appreciate that they were the only one around with great Irish fare on the holiday!

Reserved the back room, but when our group showed up we were told that there was no reservation. Turns out a group of hairdressers from next door(to the restaurant) had a private party going on in there. Either the person taking the reservation screwed up and never wrote it down or Scoogi’s decided to give the room to the stylists and not bother telling us. Either way it’s horrible customer service. We ended up waiting 2 hours for a table. A few free appetizers were given as compensation(calamari which was decent, and an awkward pile of caprese salad). We did get lucky with the waiter; he was very nice and did a good job with our large table. The food was at best mediocre. The dish I ordered was pretty gross. The shrimp/scallop risotto. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery, and both the scallops and the risotto were mushy.

Found this place by accident when we walked out of another restaurant we had a reservation for on NYE. We weren’t familiar with the area but this came up on our search. Menu looked good, reviews were decent, so hey… why not. Well boy were we ever pleasantly surprised! The food was all delicious, the place was homey and cute, our server Nicole was a delight, and most importantly(to me) their Caesar salad was actually delicious and not an Italian bottle dressing style Caesar. I can’t wait to being everyone back here again!

I gave this place three stars due to the food, it’s delicious. The issue, however, is the customer service. The people running it– the manager(an older woman with blonde hair and glasses) needs a lesson in customer service. I was there with my family on New Years’ Eve and I get that it’s a very busy night. I get they are swamped. We ordered an appetizer and after 45 minutes, nothing. I politely asked the manager(as our waiter didn’t understand the need to check in on her table, but that’s a side issue) what was going on. She had a flimsy excuse«some foods take longer to cook than others.» It was pure nonsense. Someone had screwed up. We ordered a hummus dipping plate– nothing to cook there– and the two tables near us, seated after us, ordered much more complicated apps, and had them a good 15 minutes before us. I pointed this out to her and she went to go check. She very clearly avoided coming back to our table and avoided looking at us. No explanation. No comment or apology. It’s very simple: when that happens, even if it’s simply a case of taking too long to cook, you tell the table some BS line. It’s not hard, but it assures the customer and makes them think you took their complaint seriously, even if you didn’t. In her defense, she did come back over and check-in with us after the entrees came, but it was too late. If you can’t handle people’s complaints and know how to properly deal with them, then you shouldn’t be a manager! The food, as I said was(and always has been) delicious, and that’s why I gave three stars.

Wow. This place gives a whole new meaning to customer service. I showed up to pick up my pizza and salad, and was greeted with a blank stare. I gave the girl at the takeout window my name and all she gave me was my total. After I paid she said she would be right back that she had to make my salad. She came back gave me my salad and said nothing else. I told her I still need my pie and she said that was in the oven. That said, I called my order in at 4:50. I was told 30 minutes. I showed up at 5:30, giving them 40 minutes to prepare it and it’s still not ready. No sorry, no nothing. Just a blank stare from Ms. Congeniality at the take out window.

It was recommended to us by a waitress who works at a different restaurant so we thought we’d check it out. Unfortunately, the food was not tasty and the service can be better. Not sure why people around here like this place!

Stopped here for lunch while my car was being repaired across the street. Had the Mediterranean Salad… it had«Large Shrimp, lump crab meat, small scallops and salmon.» With a light vinaigrette dressing. Very tasty. Recommended!

We’ve eaten here a couple times. If you’re looking for a good place to sit at a bar, have some drinks, chat and eat it’s pretty good. Really enjoy the lasagna. The sit down service was a little disappointing — and for some reason the food was a bit odd that night.

Really adorable Italian restaurant, with great food. You must try the amazing spinach salad(with walnuts, cranberries, cheese and apples) it was perfect. I also absolutely loved my chicken piccata, one of the best I’ve ever had, with perfect lemon and butter flavors. The fettucini alfredo was also pretty good and creamy. The service was really nice and fast, and they let us in the restaurant early even though they were opening later on New Years day. I would only recommend making sure the bread is hot, because one of the pieces was still frozen on the inside, and it would also be nice to have the spice blend at the table as well for the the olive oil. I think I would give this 4.5 stars, but the prices are a bit steep for the area, most entrees are $ 15+ and $ 20+ for most seafood options, which is on par of places in center city. Pleasant surprise!

Quality is slipping a bit at Scoogi’s — but hey they’ve been around for 24 years. Our server Maria was accomodating and understanding when i sent back my $ 6(happy hour special) Fuzzy Navel for«dirty ice». I think they need to clean their ice machines and filters. Meanwhile the food was good — my friend had a mediterranean salad loaded with shrimp, scallops, salmon AND crab meat.(I shoulda got that!) I had athe $ 17 early bird special. House salad was great — the balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. Entrée was just so-so. Shrimp Scampi over mushy angel-hair.(Again, I shoulda) I should have asked for linguine or another type of pasta that doesn’t over cook so easily. The pasta was not only over cooked but over sauced. Drowing in a lemony/buttery/oily/garlicky scampification. So sad — as my friend and I loved coming here a few years back. They need to give the place a good cleaning and tweak the recipes a bit. Otherwise — solid. Very lovely hostess.
