After talking to some colleagues, I went to Eyeglasses Etc because they accepted my insurance plan. This is a typical mom and pop operation and everyone was friendly and helpful. When I’m ready for my next eye exam, I would not hesitate to return to this store. I liked that they kept the«insurance» glasses in one location so you can easily know which frames were covered 100% and which frames would cost extra. Since my prescription didn’t change, I opted to get one of the 100% covered frames as an extra pair. The glasses were ready in less than a week which is really good considering Christmas was right in the middle of it. I can’t say what their regular prices are because I specifically choose Eyeglasses Etc because they took my insurance.

If you’d like to shop in a store where you have no idea what anything costs, and the guy who runs the place is called Irwin, and he just happens to be a crabby, rude, obnoxious, curmudgeon; well, then my friends, Eyeglasses Etc. is the place for you! Shopping for glasses is something I do probably no more than once every two years. On those rare occasions it would be nice to not be treated like a total ass clown. So, I personally will not spend some $ 200-$ 300 or more in a store where I am treated like a total ass clown, and where the curmudgeonly Irwin needs a breath mint. Here’s looking at you!

After putzing around with eye exams at Target Optical and Lenscrafters for the last couple of years, I finally decided to give these local guys a chance. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called with Dr. Lochetto. He was thorough and professional — good thing I went because my prescription was wayyyy off! The owners, Irwin and Harriett, were so helpful and answered all my questions about insurance, contacts and lenses. The whole experience definitely makes me want to continue to give locally owned shops my business.
