It happened to me. I noticed it was around 1 o’clock and I hadn’t eaten lunch and I also noticed that I only had 7% power left on my phone. That posed a demonstrative problem because of all days, this day was Defcon 3 at work and there was no way I was going to drive home to get the charger. Also, there was no way I was going to go the rest of the day without streaming NPR. Errands on Lindbergh anytime of the day is a bonkers mission so in the hopes to save some of my lunch hour I called ahead to make sure that they had the charger that I needed. The gentleman that answered the phone was extremely helpful and told me that he would just pull it aside and have it ready at the counter. I told him what I would be wearing and that I would likely whirl in fast like a Tasmanian Devil — he said no problem, he would be ready for me. I’m a sucker for good customer service and when my time and dollar are honored that makes me very appreciative and loyal to that place and that business. Above all else on this day it made me extremely happy and left me with time to grab lunch and an afternoon coffee drink. I toiled my way down Lindbergh and when I got there he totally kept his word. The service was fast and courteous. He even gave me tips on a future sale. On the T.M.I tip, I’ve now left that extra charger at my desk — my co-workers help themselves to it when I am away but that is another story. I know that this company is having issues and has been delisted from the NYSE but if and when a restructuring happens, I hope this remains a Radio Shack and not a Sprint/Amazon store.
