The Sneaker Factory Florham Park

I am a training for my first 5k. A friend recommended I visit this store over other large retailers simply because the customer service can’t be beat. Boy was my friend right. They spent time with me, helping me choose a running sneaker that was based on my particular foot and fitness goals. While I thought my first visit was great, it was my second visit that impressed me and the reason I write this review. I was having issues with my purchase and the owner helped me resolve. He went up and beyond. I truly appreciate it, being a new runner who needs extra support.

This place was great. I recently tried to start a run/​walk program on my own with no instruction and wearing some very cheap «cross training» shoes. After two weeks, I was at the orthopedist for «runner’s knee». Now two weeks into physical therapy, the folks at PT suggested I go to a «real» running store to get fit properly for shoes.
Went there today and was helped by Joe. He narrowed the field of shoes that seemed appropriate to about four, explained things that seemed to jibe with what the PT folks had said about my knee, and did NOT push me to super expensive stuff. I found two pairs that felt good and Joe watched my amateur running out on the sidewalk and helped me narrow the choice down to the final pair (Saucony, if it matters).
Experience was great, this was something where I really needed someone with knowledge of running mechanics to pick shoes that won’t re-​injure me and this is the kind of service I can’t imagine getting in a giant sporting goods store.
Oh, and price-​wise, I didn’t pay more than $ 8 above what the same shoes went for on most online retailers… So that was pretty crazy considering I felt like I got way more than $ 8 of consulting. My wife’s sneakers also got a quick once-​over, which was much appreciated. When she wears her sneakers out, we’re headed here.
TL;DR — if you’re starting out running, go here, not to some big box store, the medical bill/​PT savings alone will be worth any small price difference.

Had a great experience here. Joe is very knowledge and passionate about running and it shows in his customer service. You definitely feel like you are getting your moneys worth and you feel comfortable and confident about your purchase. If you are looking for a great running store, great running experience and knowledgeable employees then Sneaker Factory in Florham Park is your place. I will be returning and telling all my friends. I had a terrible experience here. I was so excited to visit this shop as i live in town and was typically headed to running shops across northern NJ, like Randolph & Paramus, seeking running gear expertise. I went to this store seeking the experience described by the prior reviewer and that is depicted on their website, but got service worse than I would at a major sports retailer! The sales assistant was eating lunch when I walked in, had a very bad cold and hardly said hello when I walked in. When we got to selecting shoes, he didn’t ask me 1 single question about my sneaker needs, my running interests, my current shoes, etc. I actually had to request that he look at my gait & choose a few different styles for me. I am so disappointed about this experience that I did not purchase anything and certainly will not come back.

This is an excellent sneaker store! I usually go to the running company but this place is much better on many levels. Great selection of sneakers and top notch customer service. Joe really helped me. He was super friendly and I totally felt comfortable and confident he would find something for me. If you have been searching for the right pair of sneakers check it out. You won’t be disappointed
