Yummy strawberry and blueberry pancakes. Great prices. Friendly service. Homey atmosphere. I will definitely return.

Excellent food and amazing baked goods for very reasonable prices! Breakfast sandwiches are huge and delicious, good coffee, too, which is very important to me in a breakfast/lunch place. We had them cater a dessert buffet at our wedding and make a small cake, too. They were very helpful in designing the menu and we had the perfect amount. Everything was absolutely delicious, as well as beautiful; especially our cake, which they let us custom design! Go to here. Immediately.

I’m happy that this café is back! I used to go to this great place in when they were in Easthampton. His doughnuts are awesome, so are the wraps and all the deserts! You can’t go wrong. I’d return more often if I lived closer. Check it out, I’m sure you will be happy you did!

Good: *Sandwiches and cookies are tasty. Bad: *Old man behind the counter is forgetful, sarcastic, and pretty slow. *Sandwich took 25 minutes to make even though there weren’t any people in the restaurant. Although, there were three(and a half. there was a teenage kid standing behind the line getting in the way) people working. *Ordered potato salad which had no flavor. They forgot to give it to me. When they finally did, the 16oz cup was filled less than half(rocket science here: GETSMALLERCUPS). And didn’t give me a fork to eat it. Old man inserted sarcastic comment at this phase. *You don’t know what they have for menu items unless you go to the physical restaurant. No menu online anywhere. Hello Sunrise, welcome to the year 2014, you have a FB page. Put up a freakin menu.

I have always been a BIG fan of Carl’s creations. We’ve been getting cakes from him for years. I’ve never had a product, donut or cookie I didn’t love. He’s worth the trip from anywhere. I can’t wait to visit his new place. We’ve missed you… L & J

I’m glad that this old favorite from Easthampton has reopened in Florence! I had the corn chowder in a bread bowl and it was very good. The boston cream donut was excellent. The only thing lacking was the atmosphere. I hope that will change in time. I remember the Sunrise in Easthampton as being local, warm and exciting. Here so far, the atmosphere is drab, sparse and tired. Some nice, small artwork is trying to peak through. Maybe it’s just the carpeting and the peeling fake brass on the booths, but the atmosphere doesn’t fit the great food from the kitchen or the wonderful baked goods. Very very nice people behind the counter too. So far they only have a Facebook page, and the Gazette ran an article about them a couple days ago with their history. It’s right next to Great Wall Chinese, where Michael Kayne’s Family Restaurant used to be.
